1986 BMW 635CSI, RARE, CLASSIC, AUTOMATIC, GREAT CONDITION CONSIDERING THE YEAR! AS YOU CAN SEE THE RED (ZINNOBERROT AS THE BMW CALLS IT) EXTERIOR SHINES GREAT, A FEW BLEMISHES ARE TO BE EXPECTED, TOO SMALL TO SHOW IN THE PICTURES, SOME PARTS OF THE TRIM ARE STARTING TO LIFT, WILL NEED TO BE GLUED BACK DOWN. A LITTLE BIT OF RUST IS STARTING TO BUBBLE IN THE FRONT FENDER, BESIDES THAT, THE FRAME AND THE FLOORS ARE SOLID. I HAVE BLACKED OUT ALL THE CHROME ACCENTS TO GIVE THE CAR A MORE UPDATED LOOK. BUT THIS CAN EASILY BE TURNED BACK TO CHROME FOR FREE. TRUNK IS DRY.
THE INTERIOR IS IN DECENT SHAPE, THE TAN LEATHER IS IN GOOD SHAPE, THE SPORT SEATS WORK, THE SUNROOF WORKS. HAS A RETRACTABLE REAR SHADE. THE HEADLINER WAS SAGGING AND WAS TAKEN OFF. I NEVER GOT AROUND TO COMPLETING THIS JOB. I HAVE ALL THE PARTS. ALSO HAS NO RADIO INSTALLED BUT IT IS PREWIRED FOR A SUBWOOFER. (I HAVE BOTH A SONY X-PLOD AND 3 KICKER 10" IN A BOX IN MY GARAGE INCLUDED IN THIS PURCHASE) ALL POWER OPTIONS ARE IN WORKING ORDER, AC BLOWS COLD, HEAT WORKS GOOD.
PIRELLI TIRES ALL THE WAY AROUND ARE IN GOOD SHAPE, JUST BALANCED THE OTHER DAY, RUNS VERY SMOOTH
I SUGGEST A NICE TUNE UP TO MAKE IT RUN PERFECT. (CAP, PLUGS, WIRES, AIR FILTER)
NEEDS BRAKE PADS INSTALLED, I ALREADY HAVE THEM!
WILL PROBABLY ALSO NEED A TORQUE CONVERTER ABOUT $60 BUCKS ON EBAY. IN ITS CURRENT STATE I WOULDNT HESITATE TO DRIVE IT ANYWHERE. I DROVE IT TO BIMMERFEST LAST MONTH IN MARYLAND! NO PROBLEMS! NEEDS ODOMETER AND TACHOMETER GEARS, VERY COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE CARS, ABOUT $15 FOR BOTH. MILEAGE STATES 139K BUT IS NOT ACCURATE, OFF BY ABOUT 2K MILES.
WHY YOU SELLING IT?
I JUST HAD A BABY, AND BOUGHT AN SUV, SO I HAVE LITTLE MONEY AND NO TIME TO ENJOY THIS BEAUTY, SO MAKE YOUR OFFER, THE WORST I CAN SAY IS NO, OR WE CAN WORK SOMETHING OUT. SO NO TRADES JUST CASH! THE CAR TURNS A LOT OF HEADS, AND I GET THE THUMBS UP AT EVERY LIGHT!
TITLE IN HAND, NO EMAILS PLEASE! CALL OR TEXT JON AT 401-523-0872, ASKING $3500, PRICE IS NEGOTIABLE IN PERSON ONLY! E30, E36, E39, E24, E28, E38, 325I, 318I, 325IS, 633, 635, L6, L7 M3, M5, M6, GTI, #E24, #E30

X4 launch to spearhead BMW crossover onslaught at NY Auto Show
Mon, 30 Dec 2013It's no secret that crossovers are one of the key vehicle types driving today's auto industry profits, and nowhere is that more true than among the world's luxury brands. BMW became one of the first players in the luxury CUV segment when it launched its original X5 in 1999, and buoyed by that model's runaway success, it followed up with the X3 in 2003, the X6 in 2008 and the X1 in 2009 (though the latter didn't make it to the US until late 2012). It's replaced the X5 twice since then and the X3 once, but the Bavarian automaker isn't about to let matters rest there.
First off, a production version of a new X4 model is expected at the New York Auto Show in April. The model was previously rumored to be earmarked for reveal a month earlier, but a new report from Autocar suggests that the previously mooted reveal date and location were inaccurate. The X4 is expected to apply the same controversial slant-back formula to the X3 that transformed the X5 into the X6, which will in turn lead to an update for the X3 as well.
But that's not all. Autocar also reports that before 2014 is out, BMW will unveil a revised X6 at the Moscow Motor Show in August, which will in turn be followed by upgraded versions of both the X6 M and X5 M. These high-performance crossovers are tipped to pack the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 as the outgoing versions, albeit with higher outputs than the current models' 555 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. All this, and they're still expected to simultaneously improve fuel consumption and emissions figures.
The troubled Alfa Romeo Giulia needs serious help [UPDATE]
Wed, Feb 10 2016UPDATE: An Alfa Romeo US spokesman responded to this article with the following statement: The safety concerns expressed in the story are false. The all-new 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia is designed and engineered to meet or exceed all federal safety regulations. The Alfa Romeo Giulia will begin production for the North American market in the late second-quarter of this year. Alfa Romeo will have a full product portfolio of premium vehicles that includes plans for (8) all-new Alfa Romeo vehicles by 2020. The product launches are prioritized by segment volumes starting this year with the Alfa Romeo Giulia production for North America starting in late Q2, followed by the Midsize-UV – the 2nd largest premium segment in North America. Even on the day you dragged them kicking and screaming and gesticulating wildly to a table full of concrete evidence, Alfa Romeo executives will never admit the Giulia program is going through a tough patch. But it is. Reports say the Giulia, on the eve of production, didn't just fail one internal crash test, but failed the front, side and rear impact tests. Alfa denies it. Automotive News published a report last week saying two suppliers had insisted the Giulia, on the eve of production, didn't just fail one internal crash test, but failed the front-, side-, and rear-impact tests. A third supplier source told us the same thing. Alfa is denying it. It was due on sale in Europe late last year and was supposed to be here in the next month or two. But it wasn't, and it won't. It was to be headlined by a twin-turbo V6 that reportedly howled its way around the Nurburgring 14 seconds faster than the BMW M3 could manage. That second part is only true if you believe it's fair to compare a full lap in a standard BMW M3 with a favorable accumulation of sector times to a development prototype Giulia with 220 pounds stripped out of it and rolling on hand-cut racing slicks. No, me neither. A Promising Start The Giulia's all-new architecture was developed in just two years by a skunkworks of young engineers headed by Fiat's engineering prince, Philippe Krief, and (bafflingly) sited inside Maserati's headquarters complex in Modena, about three hours from Alfa Romeo's own Turin HQ.
2015 BMW X4
Tue, 27 May 2014BMW has been in the line-blurring business of late, with the original X5 "Sports Activity Vehicle" muddling the line between SUVs and sport sedans in 1999, the 5 Series Gran Turismo challenging what our definition of "Gran Turismo" means in 2009, and pretty, low-roofed four-doors like the 6 Series Gran Coupe and the fresh new 4 Series Gran Coupe broadening the meaning of the word "coupe."
In the midst of all of this, BMW blurred the lines around both the SUV and coupe genres with its big, heavy, and in many ways ridiculous X5-based "Sports Activity Coupe" (cue collective eye-roll), dubbed X6. Auto wags scoffed at its lack of utility, compromised outward visibility and added cost, but a more emotional public was apparently smitten enough by its aggressive looks to avail itself of some 250,000 of them worldwide in six model years on sale.
Enter the all-new 2015 X4 crossover - err, "Sports Activity Coupe" - which BMW hopes will perform as well in the compact category as the X6 has on the next rung up the ladder. Like the X6, the X4 is a tough sell on paper: it's more expensive and less practical than the X3 on which it's based; it's heavier, despite the loss of interior space; and it doesn't even hold as much stuff in the back as the 3 Series wagon. As with the X6, the X4 is essentially a high-riding style statement that, like proper coupes (the two-door kind), says to the world, "You fools can take your need for practicality and shove it. I just want to look good."
