1985 BMW 635CSI 2-Door M6 Tribute

OVERVIEW: This is a rare find. This original CLASSIC BMW 635CSI that has many of the M6 options on it to look and drive like an M6. Was once owned by a BMW Master Tech who added the M6 options. This BMW 635CSI #WBAEC8401F0611473, is an older restoration that has been in storage for a few years and recently taken out and updated for use and now sale.  It has only 85,805 original miles on it. It is in excellent overall condition. I will detail all the work done to the car past and present. I will also represent the car to the best of my ability. I know very little of the car prior to me getting it.  But please realize this is a 29 year old vehicle and has not been driven a lot in the past few years. I only recently took it out of storage and have not driven it much. Clear NJ Title.

BODY: The body is in very good condition. As far as I can see, it is rust free with only a few very minor paint imperfections. It was repainted a number of years ago, the original BMW red.  It does have a few minor dings and scratches from being in storage. All Glass is perfect. All rubber seals and weather strips in excellent condition as is rear window and sunroof. All bumpers are excellent. Rear bumper needs to be adjusted. Wipers, windows and lights are all in excellent working condition. BMW has M6 badges on it. Also has correct front spoiler with working fog lights and rear painted spoiler and bumper side effects like later model cars.

SUSPENSION; The car has four wheel disc brakes. The pads were replaced during last restoration. Has M6 style suspension and springs are lowered. Shocks are fine. I replaced rear muffler recently. Tires are brand new Bridgestone Potenza High Performance 215/60R/16. $175 each plus high speed balance and mounting.  Wheels are M6 original BBS 3 piece. These wheels alone are worth $2,000. That’s almost $2,800 in tires and wheels alone, in excellent condition with correct spin off caps. I have a few extra suspension parts I will include with car.

ENGINE & TRANS. The Engine runs very well as does the Auto Trans. I just had the complete head replaced. New head, valves seals gaskets etc.  No noises. The fuel pump was replaced with original restoration.  Fuel tank was cleaned. I replace the fuel sending unit. I also just changed the oil and all filters. I put in new dis. Cap, rotor, new spark plugs and wires. Changed and checked all hoses where needed. I either replaced or cleaned all computers, relays ,sensors and wiring where needed. New anti-freeze.

INTERIOR: The interior is very good. Has M6 Recaro seats front and back in good condition. No rips.  All electrics work fine.  A few dash cracks repaired a while ago. Seats are leather and are in good condition, wear on side red piping only. M Style 3 spoke steering wheel. Door panels are excellent as well.  Rugs are all good. I replaced the gauge cluster. Was working fine, now tach is intermittent after pictures. I think plug is loose. Will try to pull dash and refit plug. See picture of old cluster with original mileage. All other gauges work fine.  Check panel lights are on for brake sensor and oil sensor, can be reset. All windows and switches work, radio (aftermarket) works, and AC works (needs recharge with R12) and heater works fine. I replaced the fan motor relay and switch. Central locking systems works. BMW has a complete tool kit. Please review pictures. I will include a complete repair manual on Disc.

CAR IS SOLD AS IS WHERE IS. No warrantee is given or implied. You win the bid you own the car. I am very serious and have an excellent relationship with E bay and Pay Pal. So serious only. You must pick up. I will assist where possible. $500 deposit in 24 hours via Pay Pal.car listed locally so I reserve the right to end auction at any time.car belongs to a friend and i am selling it for him.soon will list more cars as we will sell all our collection.

2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe now more expensive than when new

Sun, 06 Apr 2014

At the end of the day, your friendly Autoblog editors are car guys, just like you. So, while we might have more of an opportunity to test some of the most interesting vehicles on the new car scene than does your average gear head, we can still be found whiling away those long afternoon hours looking at used cars and thinking about what could be.
Just the other day, we had a vivid reminder about one of our dream cars from the very recent past, the 2011 BMW 1 Series M Coupe. If you didn't catch it, Michael Harley had a great time testing and reviewing the new Dinan S3-R version of the car, which throws an impressively engineered turbo and suspension tune on a BMW that was damn near perfect out of the box.
In the Comments section of that review, a few savvy Autoblog readers pointed out that our estimated price for a used donor car, set at $50,000, was low. Odd, we thought, as the car retailed for less than $50k ($46,135) when it was new in 2011. So we started checking around.

Translogic 182: CXC Motion Pro II Racing Simulator

Thu, Aug 13 2015

Translogic gets some seat time in the CXC Motion Pro II to test if the high fidelity racing simulator can impact our host's real-life track times. Host Jonathon Buckley hits the track at Auto Club Speedway of California in a 2015 BMW M4 to put down a baseline lap time before his virtual training session in the Motion Pro II. After learning the lines of the track in a simulated setting, Jonathon returns to the track to put his skills to the test. "We designed it, originally, as a professional training tool for race car drivers," says CXC Simulation's founder and president Chris Considine. "Make it authentic. Make it real." The Motion Pro II boasts "thousands of cars and track models," ranging from street cars, to rally and off-road vehicles. Will this hyper realistic racing simulator help Jonathon improve his lap time? 2015 BMW 228i xDrive

Wed, Apr 22 2015

Has BMW lost its edge? The answer to that depends on what vehicle you're discussing. The company's products, while still quick and agile, are softer and more forgiving than they've ever been. And while this change may be worrying if we're talking about an M3 or an M5, is it necessarily a bad thing for more mainstream models? That's our question after a week behind the wheel of the BMW 228i xDrive, a vehicle that succeeds the beloved, driver-focused BMW 1 Series. In some ways this new car is a let-down, but in many other areas the new 2 Series is just plain better. The latter is particularly true if we're talking about the new sheet metal. While the 1 Series was a great source of compact, rear-drive entertainment, it wasn't a pretty car. The new 2 still isn't a stunner, but it benefits from BMW's latest design language. It looks wider and more muscular than the squat 1 Series, although certain elements, like the daylight opening and rear taillights, look like they were plucked right from the old car. Overall, BMW has crafted a more premium aesthetic for the exterior of its entry-level coupe. A weak spot for the 1er, the 2 Series cabin sports a similarly upscale redo. Like the last-gen car, the top of the dash is home to a master display for the iDrive system (a neutered, non-navigation version on our test car), while the lower half of the center stack is dedicated to analog controls for the HVAC and audio. The dash layout is similar to the 1 Series, but the execution feels more upscale. The trim around the radio and climate controls includes aluminum and gloss accents. The passenger side dash and center console ditch soft-touch plastic for authentic materials – our car uses real brushed aluminum, although piano black and wood are also available. As with all recent BMWs, the combination of the automatic gear lever, the knob and buttons of the iDrive system, and the toggle switch for the Driving Dynamics Control system mean there's a lot of clutter where the driver's right hand falls. What hasn't changed with the 2 Series is the excellent relationship between the driver and the primary controls. Our test car wears the Sport Line package, which does without BMW's obnoxious, too-large-diameter M Sport steering wheel. Instead, there's a thick-rimmed wheel with textured leather and red contrast stitching. It feels more natural than the oversized M wheel, while this car's large paddle shifters have a solid, well-damped action.
