I just had the bumpers sprayed to repair dings (it is a NYC Car) and there are minor bumps and bruises on the paint and on a couple of the wheels. These are portrayed as well as I could do it in the pictures in the listing and at the link provided. This is an honest car. It is cosmetically in VERY GOOD condition, and mechanically excellent, especially for a car of this age."

1998 e39 540i 6spd with 121,000 miles. The car is in excellent condition. It drives like a BMW should. The interior is super clean. The paint is in great shape, but please see ALL of the pictures.  I have taken care to represent this car as honestly as possible.  It is not perfect, but it is REALLY NICE.  I have recently had the bumpers, left front fender and trunk lid repaired and repainted as they had deep scratches and knicks in them, but it was all parking lot and street parking dings.  A solid, great looking car with the included 19" wheels (THERE ARE 5 OF THEM, ONE EXTRA THAT IS BRAND NEW) and it also has a sent of winter tires included.  Both sets of tires have lots of life left.

This is a great car, and I just don't have space to keep it.  I just bought and SUV for my growing family, and I have no room for this one.

The car has been very well maintained with regular service maintenance.  The battery was replaced 18 months ago.  The lower front control arm bushings are new.  I just had the oil changed (Mobile 1).  The coolant reservoir was just replaced.  All Major maintenance, including all rear end, transmission, brake fluids were changed in 2009.

This car is currently registered and insured and it has Michigan plates, but has been in NY for the last 10 years and has always been garaged except for the last couple of months after I replaced it with an SUV for my growing family. I have the title in hand.

Please take a VERY good look at the pictures.  It's an honest car.  It is sold with no warranties implied or promised.  Please bid with confidence!!!!

A closer look at the 2015 BMW M3 and M4

Fri, 17 Jan 2014

It's fair to say we're going to miss the E92 BMW M3. Its high-revving V8, flame-styled looks and excellent driving character made it quite simply one of the best cars of the 2000s. Its replacements, the new M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe have a lot to live up to.
We still have a few months to wait until we can drive the new cars, but that doesn't mean we can't get excited in the meantime, learning everything we can. To find out, we sent west coast editor Michael Harley onto the Detroit Auto Show floor earlier this week to talk about the new M cars with BMW product manager Victor Leleu.
If you want a concise, but highly informative rundown of these new cars, look no further than this video. Leleu talks about the styling, weight savings and engines in a lot of detail, making this an interview M fans aren't going to want to miss. Scroll down for the full video.

European jury picks finalists for 2015 Car of the Year

Tue, Dec 16 2014

There are countless Car of the Year awards handed out each year, and naturally, Europe has its own way of doing things. Every year, a panel of jurists representing seven publications in seven different languages and seven different countries get together to name their joint Car of the Year. The panel released a list of 32 candidates back in July, and it has now whittled that list down to seven nominees. The list consists of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer, the Citroen C4 Cactus (shown), the Ford Mondeo, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the Nissan Qashqai, the Renault Twingo and the Volkswagen Passat. Of those seven, only two are available in the US – those being the Mondeo (sold Stateside as the Fusion) and the C-Class. The Passat is an entirely different model in North America, the Qashqai isn't offered here, Citroen and Renault don't even participate in our market and the BMW 2 Series is represented here only by the completely different coupe and convertible. Expect the one and only recipient of the 2015 Car of the Year award to be announced at the Geneva Motor Show this coming March, and while you're waiting, you can place your guesses for the eventual winner in Comments. 2016 BMW X5 M is big and bold, not beautiful

Wed, 19 Nov 2014

Awesome as it is, the BMW X5 M has never really been an attractive machine. Big and bulgy are the themes here, and that's only more pronounced with the X5's most recent refresh. But no matter, the X5 M has never been about looks - for this machine, it's all about performance, and BMW's hi-po crossover absolutely delivers in this regard.
Under the hood is the familiar 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V8, though power has been boosted to 567 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque - healthy increases of 12 and 53, respectively, compared to the outgoing model. Hitting 60 miles per hour is said to take just four seconds, which is damn impressive considering this thing weighs well over 5,000 pounds.
But the X5 M has always been shockingly good to drive, with limits you'll never reach except in the most hardcore track scenarios (which we'd really like to see, by the way). It's not the prettiest thing ever, but that's okay. It's not exactly cheap, though, with prices starting at $99,650. Woof.
