For sale my 2011 BMW 535i Carbon Black with Cinnamon/Red interior with 6 Speed manual transmission. This is very rare combination that took me months to find. It comes with all the M Sports Package options. Vehicle has only 32, 5xx Miles and drives like new.

Vehicle is in excellent condition, I just had everything serviced on 9/17/2014 down to new windshield wipers. Vehicle needs absolutely nothing for next year and then only service due is oil change. Feel free to ask me any questions.

Vehicle has clear title, with high autocheck score, however it does have accident reported (with a pedestrian). I can get you a proof that it was pedestrian or your bank can get you the same information. Vehicle suffered few scratches but no damage at all.

Vehicle has Navigation as well. Ask me about any other options you are interested in - it's too much to list, but I have BMW print out of all the options for this vehicle.

Vehicle comes with Black 20" Staggered Concave wheels with Continental tires (only 2500 miles on the tires)

H & R sport springs which improve ride handling (huge difference) without taking away anything from ride quality. Drop is approximately 1.4" front and 1.3" rear. Installation alone for the springs was over $600.

Window Tint

Muffler Delete - maintains stock exhaust and passes inspection but gives it slight growling sound (original sounds like a hybrid). I would say sound noise is very comparable to factory BMW upgrade sports exhaust.

No Performance Mods.

Under warranty until end of October 2014

This Color Combination with 6 Speed Transmission in M Sport Package is very rare. Don't miss out. I will try to upload more pictures later today.

This family has a trio of beautiful BMW E28 5 Series

Tue, Jan 6 2015

The Caccavo family is not like yours. They're actually far, far cooler. Rather than dad driving a pickup, mom piloting a crossover and son getting about in a clapped-out compact, each member of the family has their very own second-generation BMW 5 Series. Father Dean's M5, mom DonnaRae's 528e and son Austin's 535is were, remarkably, all purchased for under $10,000, after the family made a maximum-price rule for its cars. The E28 obsession all started innocently enough, with Dean's M5. Shortly after that, DonnaRae snapped up the 535is. When it came time to buy a car, his parents told him he'd need to get a job and make the purchase on his own. He agreed, under one condition – that he was able to buy his mom's 535is. Once the deal was said and done, DonnaRae found she'd acquired the E28 bug, and promptly bought herself the 528e. Petrolicious has the entire story on the Caccavos and their E28s, available in its latest installment. Check it out.

In-demand BMW i8 deliveries start in June, and it's more efficient than we thought

Thu, Mar 13 2014

Memo to Elon Musk: objects in the rear-view mirror may be closer than they appear. In this case, it's a couple of plug-in BMWs. And they represent the closest thing to a true competitor for Musk and the Tesla Motors electric vehicles. The German automaker re-confirmed that demand for its upcoming i8 plug-in hybrid will exceed the initial supply batch, though BMW didn't release any specific numbers, Reuters says. BMW will start production next month with deliveries commencing in June for the 362-horsepower i8. The news is consistent with a November estimate from BMW that indicated that the first year of i8s were essentially spoken for in advance. We learned in late January that the number of i3 battery-electric vehicles imported to the US won't meet demand during that vehicle's first year of sales either. Here's the thing: all these people were interested in the i8 when BMW said the car got the equivalent of 94 miles per gallon. Turns out, those calculations were a bit off. Reuters also notes that the new numbers show the i8 gets 112 MPGe. That's on the lenient European cycle, but if anyone was holding out for an i8 with triple-figure fuel economy, your time (to get on the waiting list) has come.Motley Fool proposed late last month that BMW is positioned to be Tesla's only real competition when it comes to high-performance plug-in vehicles. The reasoning was that the BMW plug-ins, like the Teslas, are being built from scratch and don't just have EV powertrains dropped into existing vehicle platforms. Whether or not the competition is truly a two-team race is something we're not sure is completely decided yet, but we know it'll be fun to watch unfold either way. Want proof? Check out Autoblog's enjoyable First Drive of the i8 here.

Recharge Wrap-up: BMW i3 goes against Mercedes B-Class ED, Tesla good for business

Wed, Sep 17 2014

Car and Driver has published a comparison test pitting the 2014 BMW i3 against the 2014 Mercedes-Benz B-class Electric Drive. The test not only measured the quality of the driving experience, but also all the quantitative details that are especially important when looking at electric vehicles. For instance, the Benz's real-world MPGe surpassed its own rating, but it still couldn't match the BMW. The B-Class, though, won in the range department. We won't spoil all the results, or Car and Driver's overall pick, but you can head over to the article to find out for yourself. Tesla's expanding business, including the Gigafactory being built in Reno, NV, is encouraging growth in the locales and associated businesses. Some of Tesla's suppliers are talking of relocation, wanting to be close to the action stirred up by the electric automaker's expansion. It makes good business sense to be in the same neighborhood as Tesla. "We can react quickly, and our engineers are constantly working with Tesla," says Futuris General Manager Sam Coughlin. Brookings Institute fellow Jennifer Vey says, "The land around Tesla is being redeveloped and reimagined. It's a mash-up of an anchor campus, startups, housing and transit, in a physically compact area where companies can cluster and connect." Read more at San Jose Mercury News. EVs are doing even more to reduce energy use clean up the air, according to new analysis from the Union of Concerned Scientists. According to findings, 60 percent of Americans now live in areas where EVs do more to reduce emissions than hybrids, up from 45 percent in 2012. Average electricity use is now 0.325 kWh per mile, down five percent from 2011. EV performance - in terms of mileage and emissions - is improving compared to traditional fuel vehicles, based on the sources of electricity in various regions. Zipcar is expanding across Europe, and has already established itself in Austria, Spain and the UK. According to Zipcar France's General Manager Etienne Hermite, "In a highly populated city, Zipcar's model has been proven to remove up to 15 personally owned vehicles from the road for each Zipcar in service, reducing parking demand, congestion and emissions." Zipcar European President Massimo Marsili hopes that most Parisians will eventually be just a short walk from a Zipcar.
