NO RESERVE!!!

2007 BMW 550i - 65,624 miles, automatic, great condition, well maintained. 4.8L V8 engine with 360 HP. Fun and fast car to drive. Metallic gray exterior, black leather interior.

OPTIONS:
- Sport Package
- Logic 7 Sound
- Front and Rear parking sensor monitors
- Sirius Satellite Radio
- Navigation System
- Cold Weather Package (heated front seats)
- Comfort Seats

CONDITION:
Interior is in excellent condition.  The leather barely shows any wear and everything functions properly.
Exterior - The car has no dings or dents and the paint is in excellent condition.  There are some typical rock chips on the front bumper and hood.  The rims are in great condition (see pictures).  There is some curb rash on the bottom of the front bumper (it has been touched up but I included a picture to try to give a sense of what it looks like), it is not very noticeable.
Overall, this car is in very good condition inside and out.  About 1.5 years ago the car was hit from behind at a very low rate of speed that left mark on the bumper (no dent) and I have pictures of the damage which was less than the size of my palm and am happy to email them (this is the accident that shows up in the vehicle auto check report).  The bumper was repainted, but given it was just a scratch it did not require replacement. Also, all 4 windows had a light professional window tint done on them, looks classy, and great.  Car was just professionally detailed inside and out and is ready to go.

MECHANICAL:
Car had new Michelin Pilots put on at 58,943 miles, all 4 tires, at a cost of $1,424. Tires have a 45,000 mile tread life, so tons of life left on them, so you should not have to buy tires for quite some time. New battery installed a few months ago as well.  I bought the car from a dealer as a lease return approximately 4 years ago and have had all the required / routine maintenance done.  The only things that I ever had to have fixed on the car was the active sway bar (sway bar was leaking oil and was repaired under warrant 2 years ago at the dealer) and the pump on the window washer fluid broke and was repaired.  Other than that I have had no issues with the car and am not aware of any mechanical problems.

OTHER:
This is a used car and is being sold AS-IS.  I encourage and welcome inspections if you are local and if you are not local I am happy to have the car inspected by a mechanic for you (at your cost).  Buyer is responsible for shipment and car must be shipped on or before February 28th 2013.  $500 non refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of auction ending and remaining balance must be paid via wire within 48 hours or two business days, whichever is first.  I am happy to answer any questions that I can and will do my best to respond quickly to you.  Finally, I have the car listed for sale locally and reserve the right to end the auction at anytime.

This has been a great and fun car for me and I have taken very good care of it and hope that it will be a great car for someone else.

Cars with the worst resale value after 5 years

Tue, Nov 7 2023

While the old saying that cars lose a massive chunk of their value as soon as they’re driven off the dealerÂ’s lot might not be entirely true these days, most new vehicles steadily lose value as they age and are used. iSeeCars recently released its latest study on depreciation, finding the models that lose value the fastest, and the list is packed with high-end nameplates. The vehicles that lost value the fastest over five years include: Maserati Quattroporte: 64.5% depreciation BMW 7 Series: 61.8% Maserati Ghibli: 61.3% BMW 5 Series Hybrid: 58.8% Cadillac Escalade ESV: 58.5% BMW X5: 58.2% Infiniti QX80: 58.1% Maserati Levante: 57.8% Jaguar XF: 57.6% Audi A7: 57.2% While sports cars, hybrids, and trucks dominated the list of slowest-depreciating vehicles, luxury brands accounted for all of the top ten fastest-depreciating models. iSeeCars executive analyst Karl Brauer also pointed out EVsÂ’ lack of representation on the slow-depreciating vehicles list, saying that thereÂ’s a disconnect between what automakers are building and what people actually want. The average five-year depreciation for all vehicles in the iSeeCars study was 38.8 percent. ThatÂ’s an almost 11% improvement over 2019Â’s figures, but some vehicle types perform worse than others. EVs depreciated 49.1 percent over five years, while SUVs dropped 41.2%. Trucks only fell 34.8% and hybrids 37.4%. Brauer noted that all vehicles depreciate slower than they did five years ago. Even so, EVs are not the best choice if youÂ’re looking for a vehicle that wonÂ’t feel like a ripoff when itÂ’s time to trade in. On the flip side, used EVs can present a stellar value, saving thousands over their new counterparts. Charging times and availability remain concerns for buyers in large parts of the country, but a heavily depreciated EV could be the used car value youÂ’ve been looking for. The same wisdom applies to used luxury vehicles, as the list above indicates. While new-car buyers shopping for luxury cars are set to see big depreciation during their ownership, that means the used car market is flooded with inexpensive used luxury cars. High repair costs and costly maintenance schedules are real issues that used luxury models face, however. Green Audi BMW Cadillac Infiniti Jaguar Maserati Car Buying Used Car Buying

Florida bikers threatened at gunpoint for beating motorist

Wed, Apr 13 2016

A road rage incident in Pinellas County, FL spiraled out of control when a motorist confronted a trio of aggressive bikers at a stop light. According to The Sun, YouTube user known only as DankWheelie posted video on April 8 of a fistfight between a driver and a pack of sportbike riders on a busy Florida highway which ended abruptly when one of the participants pulled a pistol. There is precious little context for the video, which became a near instant viral sensation this week. Little is known about either the motorist or the bikers. The video starts with the bikers riding along an oceanside highway, when a red, older model BMW 5 Series gets into some confused lane changing shenanigans with them on a bridge. At a stop light after the bridge, the bikers and the driver of the BMW get into a fist fight in traffic, which does none of them credit. The bikers knock the driver to the ground and surround him, when a woman passenger in the BMW pops out with a pistol drawn and brandishes the weapon at the bikers. At this point the bikers all attempt to flee and the video ends. While there seems to be no police report filed, a local police official familiar with the incident made a statement to The Sun. "After the first incident, that's when you get on the phone," said Sergeant Mike Lynch, suggesting that all parties involved could have made better decisions. "That's when you call 9-1-1." "We're looking at a woman who looks terrified for either a friend that was in the vehicle or a spouse of some sort maybe," Lynch continued. "We encourage the public to call about that type of reckless driving. It endangers all of us on the road, not just their own lives but everybody else that's out there." BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe blows the doors back on [w/video]

Tue, 04 Mar 2014

BMW sure seems to take pleasure in confusing the hell out of us. It used to be pretty simple: if you wanted a compact Bimmer, you had to look no further than the 3 Series. Then it was just a matter of which bodystyle you wanted. But the smaller end of BMW's lineup has gotten more complicated lately. Never mind the 1 Series and 2 Series (in their various iterations) that have slotted in below it - now the 3 Series has been split in two: Want a four-door, get the new 3 Series. Want a two-door, the 4 Series is your address. Right?
Almost. Because now there's a 4 Series Gran Coupe that keeps the two-door's roofline (or some approximation of it) but adds an extra set of doors in the back, thereby bridging the gap between the 3 Series sedan and 4 Series coupe. And it's just made its public debut here at the Geneva Motor Show.
The difference between this and the two-door 4 Series is plain to see: it's got two extra doors. But what's the difference between this and the 3 Series sedan? About two or three grand, to start with - depending on which version (428i Gran Coupe or 435i Gran Coupe) you choose. But it's also sleeker, more muscular and altogether that extra bit sexier. Which is a good trait, as you can see from our gallery of live shots above, to have in your European sports sedan, coupe, or whatever you want to call it.
