2006 Bmw 530xi Base Sedan 4-door 3.0l on 2040-cars
Jamaica, New York, United States
This Flagship snow white BMW is loaded with all options. This car has never giving me one day of trouble and I dread selling it but I just picked up a new luxury car. My lost is certainly your gain This is a review of it from Road & Travel Magazine: "The BMW 5 Series is considered by many to be the preeminent leader in the luxury sport sedan market. It seems every new 4-door "wondercar" that arrives feels impelled to expound on incredible handling characteristics and awe-inspiring acceleration by comparing itself to this iconic automobile. "X" in this case stands for xDrive, BMW technical speak for all-wheel drive with variable torque distribution. An ingenious and completely transparent system, xDrive distributes power to the back and front wheels in a standard 60/40 split. By monitoring steering angle and wheel speed, xDrive seamlessly redistributes power to the wheels with the most traction as needed, reducing the potential for loss of control. ****BUY IT NOW AND DRIVE IT HOME!!! THE CAR IS ALSO AVAILABLE LOCALLY SO THIS AUCTION MAY END AT ANYTIME. THERE IS A PERMANENT BUY IT NOW, SO AT ANYTIME IF SOMEONE GIVES ME 10k THE AUCTION WILL END**** On Jul-17-14 at 20:42:27 PDT, seller added the following information: To those asking the question whether I am a private seller or dealer......... I AM A PRIVATE SELLER. I am not in the business of selling cars! How does that help you?? I do not collect or charge tax. You give me my money I give you your title...period.....how you deal with DMV I really don't care.....you can write it up as a gift or a barter deal....its your business, not mind. Lets see a dealer do that for you. Also, this is the XI addition, it has the fancy XDrive feature. Do you homework and compare this to another beamer.......then come back and bid on mine. ;-) |

BMW M3 and M4 will rock 430 hp from twin-turbo six with standard manual [w/video]
Wed, 25 Sep 2013We're not sure which spec we're most intrigued by for the new BMW M3 and M4: the twin-turbo six-cylinder with 430 horsepower and "far beyond" 369 pound-feet of torque, the 3,300-pound curb weight or the standard six-speed manual transmission with automatic throttle blipping on downshifts. That engine is fitted with both Valvetronic and Double-Vanos, twin-wire arc-spray coating in the cylinders instead of liners to save weight, a track-ready cooling system with additional radiators, a forged crankshaft, dry-sump lubrication and a magnesium oil sump. BMW says its "high revving concept" has a redline beyond 7,500 rpm.
In the M4, it will be pulling a coupe with "a weight of just under 1,500 kilograms," which is 3,300 pounds to you and me. That number is said to include no driver and 90 percent fuel, but we're still waiting on the exact number and specs. BMW says it's "around 80 kilograms lighter than a comparably equipped predecessor model," putting the power-to-weight ratio at something like 7.68 pounds per horsepower at the same time as it helps reduce fuel consumption by 25 percent. The use of carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) for the roof, drive shaft (with no center bearing), trunk and front strut brace, and forged aluminum for suspension components, have aided in the weight loss. This time around, the sedan - the M3 - will also get a CFRP roof.
The default option will be a six-speed manual.
VW Golf R pitted against BMW M235i in enthusiast's choice battle
Fri, 15 Aug 2014Most people don't have two, open spots in their garage to fit a practical daily driver and a fire-breathing performance car for the weekends. That's what makes vehicles like the latest Volkswagen Golf R and BMW M235i just about perfect for the average person. Both of these Germans can lope around as a commuter 90 percent of the time and be perfectly comfortable. However, when you want to walk in the door with a big smile on your face, you can take the back roads home and get a real thrill from them.
In his latest short video, Chris Harris from Drive tests these surprisingly comparable German performance cars. Both of them offer buyers in the neighborhood of 300 horsepower, with the BMW winning out with 320 hp. However, the Golf R gets standard all-wheel drive, which is now an option on the M235i. Harris has quite positive things to say about these Europeans, but you're going to have to watch the video to hear just what he thinks.
BMW considering North American engine plant?
Fri, 13 Dec 2013BMW may be set to expand its US operations with a new engine plant, Bloomberg reports. The Bavarian automaker already has its Spartanburg, SC factory which builds the company's X3, X5 and X6 crossovers. According to the story, Mexico is also under consideration for the BMW engine factory, with the report claiming a final decision will be made in 2014.
"Establishing local motor manufacturing abroad is more complex than assembling cars, but it's a logical step for them to eventually start making engines in markets where they're expanding vehicle production," Juergen Pieper, an analyst for Bankhaus Metzler tells Bloomberg. Building engines in the US or Mexico would save BMW from having to ship engines for some of its most popular models across the Atlantic.
BMW, for its part, hasn't said anything concrete. Spokesman Mathias Schmidt is quoted in the story saying, "As part of our long-term growth strategy, we're frequently looking at different countries for possible locations of future production facilities. No decisions have been made yet, though, for an additional plant."
