2004 Bmw 530i Sedan E60, 6-speed Manual With Premium Trim Package on 2040-cars
Tampa, Florida, United States
Hello! I am selling my 2004 BMW 530i / E60 Sedan! It has been a blast to own and has served me very well, and I can now say I've owned the "Ultimate Driving Machine." But it is time we part ways. Reason for selling is to finance travel, also as much as I love driving stick shift the constant use of my left leg for the clutch has been aggravating a pre-existing injury so I'm trying to get away from manuals altogether.
Before I get into details, let me just state the obvious. This car is really, really nice! It runs strong, it is clean, it's in great cosmetic condition and it impresses everyone who sees or rides in it. The original list price on this car was about $45,000. As for the details: - ~96,900 miles - 3.0L I6, 225HP - 6-speed Manual Transmission, RWD - Rated 20/30 MPG, I get around 33 MPG on the highway when driving mindfully (awesome on gas for long distances), average around 25-27 MPG overall. Daily driving gets about 500 miles on the full 18.5 gallon tank, highway driving I've gotten almost 600 miles on a tank. 91+ octane premium gasoline is suggested by BMW. Features:
Everything works except the GPS software as noted. - Excellent running condition when checked by a BMW specialist in mid 2013. This car is quick for its size and weight and really moves on the highway with 6th gear. - Recently serviced at Reeves BMW Tampa w/ oil change, fluids top-off and 28-point checkup (mostly clear, items needing attention detailed below) - Clutch is smooth like butter. No grinding gears, automatic clutch makes for smooth, easy shifting all day. I've been very impressed by the manual transmission in this car, it is nothing like manual transmissions I have used in the past. Very much a luxury driving experience while still preserving the integrity of a manual transmission. - Black leather interior with wood trim, all clean and in great condition. No rips, tears or holes in seats or panels. Floor mats all present, clean, no stains, holes, burns etc. Clean non-smoking vehicle. All cabin lights work, all windows open/close automatically with single press. - Exterior in great condition, some small blemishes are visible when looking up close but nothing major. There is a rub along the bottom/underside of the passenger side lower panel, between the tires. Also a rub on the bottom of the corners of the front driver's side bumper, and front + back passenger's side bumper. They are along the bottom so they can't really be seen unless you are crouching down. See pictures. - All blinkers, parking lamps and exterior lights work except for the halos. - Paint and clear coat is good, car could use a real wax but there is no fading, dry spots or rust. Headlights look like the clear is coming off a little bit along the top, this is only visible up close in daylight. - K&N Performance Intake filter installed in November 2013 - Cabin microfilters both replaced in November 2013 - Premium Bosch windshield wipers installed September 2013 - Fresh oil change & fluids topped off at 96,800 miles at BMW dealership - Full spare in place in the trunk, unused. Also first aid kit in the trunk. Things to be aware of: - Needs rear brake pads, brake fluid and possibly rotors - Tires at about 30% tread, probably have a few months left in them. Currently Toyo Proxes, non run-flat. - Trunk needs shock strut replaced, currently swings open (simple replacement) - Oil dipstick seems to be stuck but I-Drive monitors oil levels like a hawk and alerts you as necessary so I've not needed it. - Pneumatic arms for the hood don't hold up, can be replaced or you can just use a stick/pole. - Xenon High- and low-beam headlights work but no halos - Needs new GPS disc - Only one key (original), battery is dead so remote doesn't work. - Wiper fluid sprayers don't spray (pump runs, nothing comes out) - Service engine light came on at 90k miles, asking for routine service check - AC needs recharge but feels fine in moderate temperatures and at night, cools down more after the car runs for a few minutes. Heater works fine. Clear title in hand, clean Carfax history. Well-maintained with routine maintenance and service performed as necessary, all previous owners have been mature adults. No accidents or body work. VIN: WBANA73594B048302 Buyer is responsible for arranging shipping and all associated costs, I can help with making arrangements as necessary. I can also deliver the car, email me to discuss cost. I think that covers just about everything. If there are any specific details not found here or you'd like photos of specific areas I will be more than happy to provide them to you, just shoot me a message or give me a call at (813) 508-1991. My name is Gabe. Thanks for looking! |

BMW is ready for our inevitable EV future
Mon, Dec 4 2017Is "rolling lithium" a thing, yet? Because BMW is trying to make this — the opposite of " rolling coal" — happen at this year's Los Angeles Auto Show. The Bavarian vehicular group is showing five all-new electric-powered concepts or production models in L.A. These include the C-Evolution, a 99-mile range scooter from BMW Motorcycles; the 150-mile range, two-door hardtop Electric Concept from Mini; and three vehicles from its advanced i sub-brand: the i3S, a sportier and more potent version of the brand's electric commuter nodule; the i Vision Dynamics four-door coupe concept, featuring a sporty four-second 0-60 time and a professed 373 mile range; and the long-promised roadster version of the i8 supercar, with just two seats, a bikini top, and an enhanced power pack providing 18 miles of range. The unveiling of these vehicles in Los Angeles makes perfect sense to us. California is one of the world's largest markets for luxury automobiles. It is also America's biggest market for electric-powered vehicles. Studies show that the state's combination of fiscal incentives, trendsetting cultural positioning, legislative requirements and massive population contributed to the purchase of half of the country's EVs and hybrids this decade. "The customers for the brand are mainly on the West and East Coasts, and the California customer especially is interested in sustainability and environmental protection," said Robert Irlinger, head of BMW's advanced i sub-brand. The bigger question revolves around BMW's larger EV strategy. Given the current global regulatory environment, with its rightful pressures on increasing efficiency and decreasing emissions to help soothe our warming planet and save all life on it, luxury automakers seem to be making a push toward developing a range of battery-powered vehicles to be available around or after the start of the next decade. It seems BMW, with its varied subsidiaries — from lightweight scooters to ultra-luxury barges — is uniquely poised to provide an array of such vehicles. "In the first stage of i back in 2013, we brought what you could call 'bookmark' cars to the market — the i3 commuter and i8 sports car — to show the range of what an electric vehicle could be," said Irlinger. "Now, we are seeing growing interest from customers to bring electrification to the heart of the brand, even to a sport sedan like our i Vision Dynamics four-door coupe.
2013 BMW X1
Tue, 23 Apr 2013A Tasty Bit Of Old School For The New School
Against the backdrop of fervent hand-wringing from brand purists, BMW is on the cusp of finally offering front-wheel-drive vehicles. While that's a shock to the constitution, many are pointing to the company's fine-handling Mini offerings as an article of faith that it can get this drivetrain paradigm shift right. That may be true, but there's an even more important lesson that Mini has taught the decision-makers in Munich: how to make real money on small cars.
Before Mini came along, BMW - along with seemingly every other premium European automaker - never really figured out how to coax big dollars out of American wallets without developing cars that had large footprints, at least those other than sports cars. While the automaker really got rolling in America on the strength of little bantamweights like the 2002, it veered away from small cars sometime in the '80s. BMW subsequently crashed and burned with the cut-and-shut 318ti built off its E36 3 Series and, good as it is, the 1 Series hasn't given the company meaty volume or profits, either. Among other brands, the Audi A3 has never rung up big numbers, and the less said about the painful sales figures of the Volvo C30, the better. But Mini has beat the odds, blazing a more affordable and evidently compelling trail. As of late, the company's Countryman softroader has been a massive hit worldwide. No surprise then that BMW has reconsidered bringing over its smallest softroader, the X1, to the US.
BMW i3 gets official worldwide
Mon, 29 Jul 2013Even though we recently drove a near-production version of the BMW i3, the car still wore light exterior and interior camouflage. Today, BMW took off that little bit of camo and made a big announcement: The i3 will go on sale in the US for $41,350 in the second quarter of 2014. That does not include any state or federal incentives that could lower the price or the $925 destination fee. The i3 will debut with three trim levels, which BMW is referring to as Worlds: Mega (standard in the US), Giga and Tera.
The BMW i3 is chock-full of new technology afforded by its design as an EV from the start of development, which has resulted in a vehicle layout unique to the i3. BMW has named it LifeDrive architecture, and it features the Life Module and the Drive Module. The Life Module is the i3's pillar-less passenger cell, which is the first mass-produced monocoque made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP). The tougher-than-steel material is also 30-percent lighter than aluminum, which contributes to the i3's relatively light weight of 2,700 pounds (preliminary US figure) and, in turn, increases its energy efficiency. Expect more of this technology to find its way into future BMWs.
The Drive Module, a 100-percent aluminum chassis mounted under the Life Module, houses everything that makes the i3 go. It includes the 22-kilowatt, 450-pound lithium ion battery mounted as centrally as possible, and provides power to a rear-mounted electric motor that turns the rear wheels. With 170 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque from zero rpm, the single-gear i3 can accelerate from 0-30 miles per hour in 3.5 seconds and 0-60 mph in about 7.0 seconds, but it has a top speed of only 93 mph. BMW says the i3 has a real-world EV range of 80-100 miles, and the standard charger can fill the battery in three hours. Opt for the SAE DC Combo Fast Charger and 30 minutes is all it takes for a full charge; 20 minutes will bump the battery to 80 percent. For customers who have range anxiety, BMW gives them the option to install a 34-hp, 650cc two-cylinder generator as a range extender for the electric drive system.
