Overall the car is in remarkable condition for the year, the 2003 model year is the best E39 touring you can get. Fully loaded except Navigation. Clean carfax, 2 owners. WOW this champion turns heads everywhere and is so fast and so smooth and handles so good it will truly amaze you. Don't be fooled by the station wagon body, this is a luxury sports car. Far advanced safety and comfort features for it's time. BMW's finest. This wagon cost over $60,000 new. Very few left in this condition so don't hesitate - you won't find another one. Clean title in hand for easy transfer.

A note about the pixels on the dash - it is not difficult nor expensive to repair. BMW acknowledged the problem and will help with the repair. You must call BMW North America and explain your issue, they will only help the registered owner, proof is required.  In most cases BMW supplies the parts and the customer pays about $90 labor. It did not concern me in the least so I did not bother to get it fixed. Every BMW I have ever owned had the same issue.

I have described this car to the best of my ability. This vehicle has just passed NY State inspection and has been completely checked over by an independent mechanic. This car needed nothing. All vehicles over 100k miles and over 10 years old are sold As-Is. Sales tax may be collected depending on your location in accordance with NY state law. Absolutely no additional dealer fees will be added. Warranties are available from 3rd parties, I do not sell them, most of the time they are a rip-off. If you are a NY resident I can take your car in trade at fair KBB value and transfer your plate on the spot. The name of my dealership is "Alfred Auto Center" I encourage you to check out our reputation on Repairpal, we strive to take care of all of our customers long after the sale.

Thank You for looking at my car!
Let's keep it simple and easy - 1. You win the bid, 2. Submit a $500 non-refundable deposit via Paypal immediately, 3. I will contact you and then you will mail me a bank check  via certified mail with a tracking #,  4. Once the check clears you come and get the car, title, and keys or arrange for transport.
NOTE: actual mileage will be slightly higher than shown as I drive this car regularly.

BMW X5 driver repeatedly fails to understand big rig braking distances

Fri, 19 Sep 2014

Nobody should be shocked that a big, heavy vehicle like a semi truck takes a longer distance to stop than the average passenger car; it's just basic physics. However, this BMW X5 driver seemingly has a major problem grasping the concept, and it results in some serious damage to the back of his SUV.
The whole incident is very confusing to watch. The BMW doesn't even seem to have a reason to slow down before the semi slams into the back of it at fairly high speed. But to make the situation even weirder, the crashes just keep happening again and again.
To give the BMW driver a little credit, he appears amazingly calm when surveying the damage afterward. But you have to wonder what this guy was thinking when trying a harebrained move like this. Check out the video to watch the carnage unfold.

BMW i3 configurator is so advanced it's replaced trim levels

Fri, 25 Apr 2014

BMW's electric i3 is slowly marching its way to dealers. It might not be happening quite fast enough for customers, though. For you anxious individuals, head over to the BMW consumer website and build your ideal i3 in the new configurator.
Before we talk about all the stuff this build tool can do, we need to address the naming of BMW's trim levels for the EV hatchback. The 328i, for example, is available in Sport Line, M Sport Line and Luxury Line. That's good; it makes sense. The i3, though, has Giga World, Tera World and Mega World. Seriously. We've no idea what BMW was thinking when it came up with this (this is the same company that regularly uses the phrase "Sport Activity Vehicle," so...).
Silly names aside, let's try and translate where each trim fits in. The Mega World is the base trim. The Giga, at $1,700, adds stylish leather-and-wool seats in a clean two-tone color scheme, along with 19-inch wheels and a leather-covered IP. The Tera World demands $2,700, but makes up for it with its own 19-inch wheels and a full leather interior. Both lines (worlds?) add satellite radio and eucalyptus wood trim.

2019 BMW M850i xDrive: How it compares on paper with other GT coupes

Wed, Jul 11 2018

Although the hot new vehicles for the rich seem to mainly comprise SUVs and supercars, the neglected luxury GT coupe segment is starting to see some life again. The latest to add a spark to this set is the 2019 BMW M850i xDrive. It goes on sale later this year, and revives the 8 Series that's been dead since the 1990s. The first version available to Americans will be one with a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8, with other versions likely following. Before it launches, we wanted to get a lay of the grand-touring land and see how the new BMW stacks up to the competition in performance, practicality and price. While some of these models have higher-performance or more-affordable iterations, we picked the versions that would be the closest match to this 8 Series model. They include the 2019 Lexus LC 500, 2018 Mercedes-Benz SL 550, 2018 Mercedes-Benz S 560 Coupe and the 2018 Maserati GranTurismo. We will also provide some short summaries on our experiences with these cars, but to get a full picture of each model, be sure to check out their full reviews. And if you want to compare any of these cars with models you don't see here, be sure to try out our car comparison tool. Engines, transmissions and performance On paper, the BMW M850i xDrive is clearly the performer of the group. It has the most power and torque at 523 horsepower and 553 pound-feet. Coupled with all-wheel-drive and an eight-speed automatic, the car is able to overcome its relatively portly 4,478-pound curb weight to hit 60 mph in a scant 3.6 seconds. That's more than half a second quicker than the lightest car in the group, the Mercedes-Benz SL550, which weighs 4,012 pounds. The other three vehicles are in the low- to mid-4-second range to 60 mph. Though the Maserati is the slowest to 60 mph, it does boast the highest top speed of 186 mph. The M850i and SL 550 are electronically limited to 155 mph, while the Lexus is limited to 168 mph. The Mercedes S 560 has the lowest top speed at an electronically limited 130 mph. View 52 Photos Of interest is that there's a 50/50 split among these cars between using a pair of turbos, and having none at all. The BMW and Mercedes resort to forced induction, whereas the Lexus and Maserati choose to stay naturally aspirated. This is likely why the Germans break 500 pound-feet of torque, while the others don't make it to 400. Also interesting is the spread of gear quantity. The Maserati has just six ratios to choose from, and the Lexus has a whopping 10.
