Up for sale is a 2001 BMW 525i. The car DOES NOT work due to the situation that it has several missing parts under the hood. The car was stolen about three months ago and when it was found some of the parts under the hood where missing. Before that unfortunate situation the car ran great. As of the exterior and interior of the car goes the car is in relatively good shape. The exterior has minor scratches but the paint is in really good shape no ware from the sun of any sorts. The Interior has two issues and that is the two front seats they are in poor shape and may need upholstery replacement. As of what is missing under the hood I notice that the a few engine parts are missing followed by the cylinder head, fan, radiator, alternator, thermostat, manifold and some other parts. I would of liked to have fixed the car but since I am a full college student I have not time to fix the car. After consulting with a few mechanics I was told the price to fix the car would be about $2000, considering the car can be sold for around $8,000 it doesn't sound like a bad idea to have it if you have the time and money to fix it. This car is only available for pick up. If there are any questions feel free to ask. More pictures of the car can be given upon request I have more pictures i wanted to posted but wasn't able to so let me know I will be happy to email them to you.

BMW considering North American engine plant?

Fri, 13 Dec 2013

BMW may be set to expand its US operations with a new engine plant, Bloomberg reports. The Bavarian automaker already has its Spartanburg, SC factory which builds the company's X3, X5 and X6 crossovers. According to the story, Mexico is also under consideration for the BMW engine factory, with the report claiming a final decision will be made in 2014.
"Establishing local motor manufacturing abroad is more complex than assembling cars, but it's a logical step for them to eventually start making engines in markets where they're expanding vehicle production," Juergen Pieper, an analyst for Bankhaus Metzler tells Bloomberg. Building engines in the US or Mexico would save BMW from having to ship engines for some of its most popular models across the Atlantic.
BMW, for its part, hasn't said anything concrete. Spokesman Mathias Schmidt is quoted in the story saying, "As part of our long-term growth strategy, we're frequently looking at different countries for possible locations of future production facilities. No decisions have been made yet, though, for an additional plant."

BMW M3 and M4 CSL not in the cards

Mon, 27 Jan 2014

We aren't sure whether to file this one under "good news" or "bad news." BMW confirmed to Top Gear that there "are no plans" for lightweight versions of the new M3 and M4, in the same vein as the E46 M3 CSL (despite rumors to the contrary). The reason?
"There wasn't a CSL on the previous generation, and the way we look at it is like this: the CSL was great because it had this real focus on lightweight engineering. But we've already done that with these new cars. We've made them as light as possible - they come in under 1500 kilograms (3,306 pounds), which for a car like this is incredible," said Matt Collins, BMW's product manager for small to medium cars.
Now, as much as we love the idea of a hardcore version of any car, we appreciate BMW's point of view that the newest Ms are already as light and tough as they need to be. Collins elaborated, saying, "Rather than doing a halfway house to begin with and then rolling out a CSL, we thought we'd make the 'real' car as light as we possibly could. So we've no plans whatsoever to make a lighter, harder version just yet."

Watch the BMW i8 get wrung out on the Ring

Thu, 24 Apr 2014

Been wondering where the heck the reviews of the all-new, plug-in-hybrid BMW i8 have been? After all, the car isn't exactly new, having debuted in concept form way back in September of 2009. In August of last year, we even tested a prototype of the new supercar. Despite that, though, we still haven't gotten a crack at the actual vehicle that will be sold to the public.
Well, we're happy to tell you that we're currently testing the i8 and will have a proper review for you soon. If, however, you're just aching for some coverage of the low-slung plug-in, we have a short video of it in action around Germany's famed Nürburgring.
Despite it's three-cylinder, turbocharged gas engine, the i8 sounds pretty angry as it laps the Ring. That is, until it has a little bit of a breakdown. According to the guys that caught the car on video, it appeared the i8 had a minor brake issue, and was parked on the side of the track for a good 15 minutes, with the driver pumping the brakes. We should probably just take this as proof, then, that manufacturers are actually using the Ring for testing, and not just messing about.
