I have up for sale my meticulously maintained, adult owned 2000 BMW 540iT w/Sport package. I am a long time BMWCCA member and all of the regular scheduled maintenance has been performed along with new rear subframe bushings. This cars runs and drives very strong and straight. Currently, the car needs nothing and should be that way for the next 75-100K miles with normal maintenance. I would jump in and drive from Charlotte to Los Angeles today if needed without hesitation. This car has been nothing but good to me. I have approximately over $20K in maintenance and upgrades in the car. The miles are mainly highway with some daily driver usage. My original plan for this car was to do a full e39 ///M5 conversion. The e39 chassis did not get an M5 Touring version but there was one built by BMW. The wheels are BMW e65 style 32 in a 20" and they will not come with the vehicle unless BIN price is met. Car will come with 18" Mpars with tire tread at ~ 85% left for any price below BIN. The cargo area is not complete due to the plan to do the conversion, its functional but to do the conversion properly the rear floor needs to be swapped and since I had planned to do that, I was waiting to finish out the floor, thats why it is not black. Below is a list of upgrades:

Paint is the original factory color (438 Japanrot) with a Matte UV Clear (professionally done)
Rear bumper is a genuine BMW 540iT M Sport with a real Carbon Fiber Diffuser
Front bumper is an polyurethane e39 M5 replica with genuine e39 ///M5 inner fenders
Genuine BMW e39 ///M5 auto-fold side view mirrors
Genuine BMW Oval auto-dim rear view mirror
Smoked Headlight covers
Smoke Side Markers
HID foglights
Red/Black Carbon Fiber Roundels
Gloss black paint on roof (professional done) with factory roof rails deleted (I have roof rails and they will come with car, I also have the genuine BMW roof mounting system [cross bars])
35% Lumar window tint (legal in all 50 states)
Dinan Stage I suspension (rear lowered electronically, factory self-leveling)
Turner Motorsports cross drilled front and rear brake rotors and ceramic pads
Full e39 ///M5 Extended Carmel Nappa Leather interior (to my knowledge, this is the only e39 wagon with this interior, I know of two others but they have the black version)
e39 ///M5 heated seats
Rear seat converted to match front seats with Nappa leather
Genuine Alcantara headliner (same material and color used in e39 ///M5)
Genuine Alcantara shift boot
Genuine Alcantara ebrake handle
Piano black interior trim
M Sport steering wheel
ipad mini navigation and stereo control with Audison BitOne
Focal K2 Power 3-way front stage and 27KX 11" subwoofer, all powered by Focal Power amplifiers (over $6K worth of equipment) tuned for sound quality
L side genuine ///M5 exhaust muffler

If interested, I have the parts necessary to complete the M5 conversion (6 speed manual transmission, transmission tunnel mount from M5, M5 trunk floor which is needed for the dual exhaust to be done correctly, and the know how for the wiring that needs to be done...all you would need is the S62 and a driveshaft but I can get that for you as well). I am happy to answer any questions you may have and can be reached at 901.355.1004

BMW M4 Concept bows, takes handoff from M3 Coupe

Thu, 15 Aug 2013

Remember how, when the first BMW M4 Concept images leaked earlier today, we told you the official information would be coming later this evening? Well, scratch that. The whole kit and caboodle is now online, meaning all the official details are below, as well as a full gallery of high-res images above.
The replacement for the M3 Coupe, the Concept M4 Coupe shares a number of styling similarities with its dearly departed forbearer. To us, it's kind of like a mishmash of greatest hits from the new 4 Series and the old M3. The 4 Series headlights have grown on us, and the side grilles, which are part of BMW's Air Curtain and Air Breather system, are functional.
The power dome in the hood is smaller than on the M3, but is of a similar shape, while the rear diffuser and exhaust treatment look like they're lifted straight from the old car, aside from being finished in carbon fiber. Speaking of which, the carbon fiber roof sports a new touch, a cool BMW M tri-color that runs the length of the roof on the driver's side. The 20-inch M alloy wheels come in a twin five-spoke design, which has sort of become a calling card of BMW's M cars in recent years. Hiding behind those meaty wheels are M's carbon-ceramic brakes.

BMW restores classic Mini as it revives production in Netherlands

Wed, 13 Nov 2013

Mini will be kicking off production in the Netherlands, a country that hasn't built a Mini-badged machine since 1966. In honor of this event, BMW Group Classic, the team responsible for all the cars in the BMW Museum, as well as being a spare parts and restoration company in its own right, revived a classic 1959 Austin Seven. That particular car, number 983, was one of the first Minis to be built in the Netherlands.
The Netherlands' JJ Molenaar's Car Companies built 4,000 Austin Sevens and Morris Mini-Minors between 1959 and 1966, although we imagine Dutch Mini production will be much bigger when it starts up again in summer 2014. A five-person team from VDL Nedcar, the group handling production of new Minis, took to the job of restoring the diminutive British car from nose to tail.
The 34-horsepower engine and the transmission were both completely rebuilt, while the door panels were redone by hand. Help from the Mini community aided the VDL Nedcar team in finding authentic replicas or original parts where possible. All told, the new classic Mini is a striking example of what a good restoration can do to a car. The Seven was repainted in its original Farina Gray, adding to the car's sense of authenticity.

BMW unleashes new M4 racer on DTM

Mon, 03 Mar 2014

We may not get to enjoy the fruits of it all, but we're in the midst of a golden age in touring car racing around the world. In Northern Europe, rival local series have amalgamated into the Scandinavian Touring Car Championship. In the UK, the British Touring Car Championship is enjoying the largest and most diverse grid in its long history. In Australia, the V8 Supercars series has grown from a Holden vs. Ford battle to include challengers from Mercedes, Nissan and Volvo. And in Germany, the DTM championship has managed to lure BMW back onto the grid to open up the battle between Mercedes and Audi. All good things, in short.
Since returning to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters in 2012, BMW has won the drivers' title once and the constructors' title twice, proving the Bavarian manufacturer to be not only a suitable challenger to the two-horse race between its star- and ring-emblazoned rivals, but the dominant force in German tin-top racing. Now BMW is set to enter its third season since returning to the DTM, and this is the car with which it intends to do so.
Replacing the M3 DTM that has impressively won half of the DTM races it has contested over the past two years, BMW's latest racing car is made in the mold of the new M4 coupe. Only it's even meaner. While the production version has switched to a turbo six, the DTM version still uses a V8: a 4.0-liter unit with four-valve cylinder heads, mandatory air restrictors and a Bosch ECU to channel 480 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque to the rear set of Hankook racing slicks through a six-speed sequential gearbox. The lightweight chassis is rounded out with competition-level aerodynamics and all the mandatory safety equipment.
