Glacier Green over Sand Beige leather This is a driving enthusiasts car with the 6-speed manual transmission and sport suspension, which means the car is lowered, has stiffer springs and struts, and thicker anti-sway bars compared to a non-sport model. It is a lot of fun to drive and will get those endorphins flowing. Runs perfectly and all systems function without flaw, none. All lights, fans, buttons, knobs, windows, handles, etc. work. This car has had an easy life. Very low mileage at 74,000 miles is an average of < 5,000 mi / year, always garaged and well maintained. It was custom ordered by the first owner who lived in Englewood, CO and has always been a CO car. I have not seen another 540i in this color combination and it is beautiful (imho). Both the exterior and interior are in excellent condition. The drivers side front bumper cover has a small ding, see pics. Everything else is basically pristine with very minor scrapes on a couple of the wheels. Options: Heated Comfort Seats have every power adjustment option available, and they are awesome! Front and side airbags for both front passengers. Great sound system that has am/fm, cassette, and 6cd changer in trunk. Power everything Moonroof Nice tint on the windows Aftermarket but tasteful wing Mud flaps Technical: Engine: 4.4 litre 32-valve dohc all-aluminum v8 that produces 282hp and 310 lbft of torque. Cadillac ATS-V and Mercedes-AMG C63 S pitted Head to Head
Fri, Sep 4 2015Our favorite (and only) Autoblog-alum-turned-Motor Trend staffer is back with another Head to Head video, this time pitting the Cadillac ATS-V with the Mercedes-AMG C63 S. This performance machine shootout is ostensibly a way to figure out which of these new super sedans will earn the right to go toe-to-toe with the undisputed champion of its segment, the BMW M3. In reality, it's just a really good excuse to put three of the hottest sedans on the market on video at the same time... and there's certainly nothing wrong with that. Jonny Lieberman spends time in each of the two new challengers on the road, picking apart their powertrains, chassis and driving dynamics on the kinds of twisty roads drivers of these cars will relish. Then, he hands the keys off to Randy Pobst, who sort of acts as an unmasked version of a certain tame racing driver, except that he talks and has a personality. 0-60 and quarter-mile times are equated, braking performance is measured and scores are tallied before the two sport sedans end up at Willow Springs raceway. Interestingly enough, the car that proves (just slightly) faster at the race track isn't the car that wins the comparison. Curious? We're not going to spoil it for you. Check out the video, above. BMW to unveil X4 in March
Mon, 04 Nov 2013It's been about half a year since BMW unveiled the X4 concept in Shanghai. But if you've been waiting for news on when it will reach production, the latest intel indicates it'll be announced next March.
Just when in March? That's the strange part. Inautonews reports having been told by BMW that the new X4 will be announced on March 14. So, the Geneva Motor Show, then? Not quite: although that show will still be going on then, the doors open to journalists like us on March 4, not 14. So either someone has got some details mixed up, or BMW - for some reason - is planning on waiting until after Geneva to reveal the production X4.
Whenever it does, we'll be looking at a slantback version of the X3, much like BMW did with the X5 and X6, giving Bavaria a rival to the Range Rover Evoque and Porsche Macan.
Mini nixes plans for 7-seater, Countryman to stay largest model
Sat, 08 Mar 2014Contrary to popular belief, it seems that Mini's growth plans do have a limit both in size and number of models. During the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, it unveiled the six-door Clubman concept (pictured above) that was 4.4-inches longer and about two-inches wider than even the current Countryman crossover. Mini design chief Anders Warming says that this is the new size limit for its models, and the BMW subsidiary isn't building a larger, seven-passenger vehicle above the current Countryman.
"We won't build anything bigger than the Countryman, not at this moment. You should be able to park a Mini in a city, so a Countryman or this new Clubman is as big as it should be," said Warming to Auto Express in Geneva. Rumors going back to last November, pegged the Mini as developing an even larger vehicle to take on mainstream CUVs.
While Warming is ruling out a bigger Minis for now, a smaller one like the Rocketman concept still might be in the cards. He said that the project has been warmly received but still had to be investigated because "it's a numbers game." So if bigger Minis aren't coming, there still might be a slim chance for a smaller one.
