UP FOR AUCTION IS MY 1997 BMW 528i w/ Manual Trans.

2nd owner car. Very well maintained. California car maintained at Shelly BMW in Orange County CA. Never seen snow, no rust what so ever.

Exterior: 8 out of 10 (front bumper is cracked due to wife jumping the parking block when she was parking the car and let go of the clutch.
Interior: 8 out of 10 The interior is very clean! Only problems are the ones I've taken clear pictures of. The passenger front seat has a little blemish on the leather but has absolutely NO TEARS or RIPS!

Vehicle is in excellent condition considering others on the market. It was pampered, garage kept, and maintained at BMW every 5000 miles. Clean title, clear Car fax, and an absolute beauty. I purchased the car when I wasn't even looking to buy a car, but the car was so clean I couldn't resist letting this one go by. I've driven it for a little while and enjoyed it, but need to get rid of it now since there are 3 cars in our household. The only blemish is the front bumper, which was damaged a little when my wife accidentally left it in gear and let go of the clutch.......jumped the front and cracked the bumper, but not a big deal. You can find a new or used BMW bumper on Ebay of CL for $250-$350.

Engine is in great shape. Clutch feels almost new. Tires are good. Car has never given me problems or over heated. Always used premium 91 grade gasoline. Completely well maintained car over all.

I have everything that came with the car from the showroom including books, 1 original key with remote, original registration sticker, 5th wheel full size spare with matching rim, and all the tools and accessories the car came with.

This car is an absolute beauty! No doubt!!!

I'm selling the vehicle AS-IS, meaning there is no factory or after market warranty. You can completely inspect the vehicle at the location the car is garaged. You can drive the car home, and the registration tags are NEW till DEC 2013!!!

There will be NO TEST DRIVES, because I am not a dealership and cannot guarantee you will not crash my car. I have no problem if you even bring your own mechanic prior to picking up the car, but there will be NO driving the car, till the vehicle is paid for and title is signed over.

Due to so much spam and fraud, I will always answer emails accordingly, but no phone calls for information on this auction. The car is also being advertised elsewhere, therefore if someone offers me a fair price, I will sell the car and end the auction early.

Ask any questions, good luck bidding. Vehicle is in 91040 zip code in my garage. Buyer will be responsible for CA TAX, License, and DOC FEE. Buyer is also responsible for delivery or pick up of the vehicle.

Next BMW X1 caught on flatbed

Tue, 17 Sep 2013

The X1 had been around for four years before it was added to BMW's US lineup, so it isn't all that surprising that a new version of the company's smallest Sport Activity Vehicle is already in the works. Captured in transit on the back of a flatbed truck, these spy shots give us our first look at the next-gen X1 - codenamed F48 - which is expected to debut around 2015.
While the camouflage does a good job of obscuring most of the styling elements, we definitely see evidence of the X1's new platform. Elements like the loss of the long nose and a noticeably shrunken dash-axle gap (just compare this spy shot picture to this one from our X1 review), are good indicators that the next X1 will move to the new front-wheel-drive platform BMW is using for the new Mini and 1 Series GT. Aside from this, the overall shape is very similar to the current design, but we're sure it will pull many cues from the updated range of BMW products.

Mini has become the Rover that BMW always wanted

Tue, Oct 27 2015

BMW has been working for 20 years to build a successful line of British cars, and on the evidence of the second-generation Mini Clubman, it may have finally done it. That means it's time for all of us to get used to the fact that Minis aren't going to be that small anymore. Case in point is this new Mini Clubman, introduced last month and conspicuous by its size. Many of us who've pointed to BMW's stewardship of Mini as an example of retro done right bemoaned the Countryman subcompact SUV – a concept actually ahead of its time. The Coupe and Roadster, perhaps rightfully, deserved (and received) an eye roll. But now there's a so-called four-door hardtop that went on sale this year and this forthcoming, six-door Clubman that approaches the compact hatchback class in size. These vehicles actually look like practical moves at keeping buyers from defecting to larger cars made by someone else, rather than vain attempts at maximizing investment in a set of parts. And in an interesting twist, Mini is turning into one of its ancestors – minus the feeling of inevitable doom. Many of us were led to believe somewhere since Mini's relaunch about 15 years ago that the brand would be a stepping stone into the greater BMW fold. But in reality, it's done exactly the opposite, creating a parallel brand for those not willing to embrace the BMW image, but leaning heavily on British nostalgia. That was sort of the reasoning used when BMW pulled the Rover Group of England away from a fruitful partnership with Honda in 1994 and absorbed it all. In the consolidate-or-die '90s, it made sense. BMW had a small, but successful, line of sedans. Rover had no success outside of Western Europe (its last US attempt at selling cars, the Sterling, ended three years earlier). Yet its Land Rover line of SUVs was just right for the time and the 35-year-old Mini still had image-conscious clout. With every passing day, the brilliance of BMW's move to abandon Rover in 2000 seems brighter. Even ditching Land Rover made sense in the long run (and probably saved Jaguar in the process). With every passing day, the brilliance of BMW's move to abandon Rover in 2000 seems brighter. During a chat with Mini USA VP David Duncan this summer, it became clear the Mini of the past is probably gone. A small, city-sized Mini is not necessarily off the table, but larger and more profitable models are coming first.
