1995 Bmw 540i - E34 (custom Wheels, Custom Exhaust And More!) on 2040-cars
Vancouver, Washington, United States
A truly rare and beautifully kept BMW 540i. Garage queen. Runs, stops and handles flawlessly. I drive it about 10-20 miles a month and have only put less than 5,000 miles on it since I've acquired it. Perfect black interior (all stock) - no rips in seats, no cracks in dash, no rattles, original stereo with CD changer in the trunk and it sounds perfect! No Expense Has Been Spared On This Car. I have all service and upgrade records from NEW! Yes, all records. It has never been a daily driver since in my care and I also know the second owner didn't drive it daily and purchased the car with about 40K miles on it. Always serviced at either Kuni BMW dealer or Pacific Motor Sports - a top BMW only repair facility. Excellent mechanical (just over 100K original miles) condition to say the least - too much to list here, but happy to go over all records with a serious buyer. 19" Hartge Wheels. Nearly brand-new Ventus V12 evo K110 tires with aprox. 800 miles put on them. Automatic transmission and a strong, healthy 4.0L V8 No leaks, no surprises and only run on premium Shell gasoline. - Dinan ECU chip - Dinan Transmission Chip - Bilstein Shocks and Springs (produces a very stiff and responsive ride, with incredible handling) - Magnaflow exhaust sounds amazing - Racing Dynamics Swaybar Kit - 27mm Front 19mm Rear - Adjustable - Racing Dynamic strut tower brace - K&N drop-in performance air filter - Custom front lower fascia - And more... Original white paint in very good condition. Ice cold AC and everything works exactly as it should. All exterior trim has been replaced. All the seals that line the doors, trunk and hood have been replaced. The car doesn't look its age! Still have the original spare (unused) and all tools. The car is an absolute joy to drive and turns heads wherever it goes. This car is a real collector. Although they made many E34 BMW's, they didn't make many 540i and you will NEVER see one as well preserved and presented as this. I have gotten more joy from owning and caring for this car than I can express, but it's time to move on to something I don't mind driving more regularly or getting wet. No disappointments with this car. Comes with a custom E34 BMW car cover (the last one available in the country from the dealer). |

BMW X5 driver repeatedly fails to understand big rig braking distances
Fri, 19 Sep 2014Nobody should be shocked that a big, heavy vehicle like a semi truck takes a longer distance to stop than the average passenger car; it's just basic physics. However, this BMW X5 driver seemingly has a major problem grasping the concept, and it results in some serious damage to the back of his SUV.
The whole incident is very confusing to watch. The BMW doesn't even seem to have a reason to slow down before the semi slams into the back of it at fairly high speed. But to make the situation even weirder, the crashes just keep happening again and again.
To give the BMW driver a little credit, he appears amazingly calm when surveying the damage afterward. But you have to wonder what this guy was thinking when trying a harebrained move like this. Check out the video to watch the carnage unfold.
The 2014 Alpina B4 Bi-Turbo Cabrio powers up luxury and speed
Tue, 04 Mar 2014The BMW specialists at Alpina know how to exploit a niche when they see one. With the BMW M4 still not technically official, it saw the need for a higher performance four-seat convertible than the 435i 'vert. Enter the new B4 Bi-Turbo Cabrio that is debuting at the Geneva Motor Show.
The European-exclusive model takes BMW's 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged inline-6 and massages it up to 410 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque, which is less power but more twist than the M4 would give buyers. Alpina's tend to be built more as quick, luxurious grand tourers, and the B4 Bi-Turbo gets is no different with an adaptive sport suspension and an eight-speed automatic. Plus it wears the classic pinstripes and 21-spoke wheels that are the brand's design hallmarks.
While the added weight for the convertible means that the Cabrio takes 4.5 seconds to reach 62 miles per hour, about a half-second slower than the coupe, at the moment it is the only way to get this kind of performance in a BMW convertible. Orders for the convertible open in March in Europe and prices in Germany start at 74,800 euros ($102,878 at today's conversion rates).
