I have for Sale my 1991 BMW 535i.  Only 65k original miles.  I orginally purchased about 4 years ago and had shipped to WA from Denver.  Car barely driven since i have owned and is ONLY reason im selling, due to no garage room and do not want to store outside.  Vehicle has been stored indoors at my mechanics garage for past 4 years And only now is being stored outside in secured/24hr monitored parking lot at my work due to dealership indoor showroom running out of space due to increased inventory, where car was being sold under consignment,  and i got short end of stick :-(   Since i have owned car, I had following upgrades/work done:

  • 19inch OZ Superleggera III multi-piece forged wheels, staggered setup, 19x8.5 in front and 19x10 in rear.  Brand new Michelin Pilot A/S 255/35/19 tires in rear.  Front tires have about 60% tread left, dont remember brand of tire.
  • Seals for front windshield and sunroof replaced.
  • AC Schnitzer Bodykit and front hood removed, cleaned/repaired and re-installed. (due to rock chips and cracks)
  • Full Tune-up and change of all fluids and filters.
Interior is very clean, no rips/tears, just normal wear and there are no upgrades or modifications that i can see except an after-market stereo deck and the trunk has "cutouts" of what looks like 2 subwoofers that must have been previously installed.

When i purchased vehicle, the following modifications were already done:
  • Dinan Turbo, installed at Dinan Engineering in CA (with receipts, original cost was over 20k)
  • Full AC Schnitzer Body Kit (front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper and spoiler)
I have folder full of receipts from previous owner(s) of maintenance work that has been to vehicle.

Vehicle currently on landmark motors website being sold under consignment, you can see lots of pictures of the car there.

BMW considering North American engine plant?

Fri, 13 Dec 2013

BMW may be set to expand its US operations with a new engine plant, Bloomberg reports. The Bavarian automaker already has its Spartanburg, SC factory which builds the company's X3, X5 and X6 crossovers. According to the story, Mexico is also under consideration for the BMW engine factory, with the report claiming a final decision will be made in 2014.
"Establishing local motor manufacturing abroad is more complex than assembling cars, but it's a logical step for them to eventually start making engines in markets where they're expanding vehicle production," Juergen Pieper, an analyst for Bankhaus Metzler tells Bloomberg. Building engines in the US or Mexico would save BMW from having to ship engines for some of its most popular models across the Atlantic.
BMW, for its part, hasn't said anything concrete. Spokesman Mathias Schmidt is quoted in the story saying, "As part of our long-term growth strategy, we're frequently looking at different countries for possible locations of future production facilities. No decisions have been made yet, though, for an additional plant."

BMW unveils 2016 X5 M and X6 M super CUVs

Wed, 29 Oct 2014

The second-generation BMW X5 M and X6 M have officially made their arrival for the speed-obsessed, crossover-loving masses that aren't willing to turn to Mercedes-AMG or Land Rover Special Operations.
While the new models retain their 4.4-liter, twin-turbocharged V8s, power has increased from 555 horsepower to 567 ponies. Torque is up more significantly, climbing from 500 pound-feet to 553 pound-feet. The extra twist is slightly less accessible, with peak grunt arriving between 2,200 and 5,000 rpm, rather than the earlier model's 1,500 to 5,650. Still, we'll take the ten percent increase in torque as a net win.
The big powertrain switch sees the old X5/6 M's six-speed automatic replaced with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission from BMW M. This new gearbox feeds power to an xDrive all-wheel-drive system that can variably shuffle up to 100 percent of power to either axle. In conjunction with the force-induced thumper under the hood, this powertrain arrangement allows both M models to hit 60 miles per hour in just four seconds. That's a mightily impressive stat in a 5,000-plus-pound vehicle.
