My son bought this car for himself for his 16th birthday with his own money. We have kept up to date with any kind of leak, rattle, hose or belt replacement and the car is near perfect mechanically.  He has been driving it daily for the last two years. He is going off to school and wont need the car in the fall so he wants to sell it.

Mechanically the car is a 9.5 out of 10, the only issue at the moment is the car didn't pass smog inspection last week for registration renewel. my BMW mechanic said it will cost $300 dollars but as my son intended to sell the car, we opted not to do it. The air conditioner blows air but not very cold. Heater works fine.

The exterior is clean but has four flaws, all of which my son is guilty of. Two of the wheels will need to have scrapes buffed out of the metal from scraping against curbs, Probably cost about $100 per wheel.  The drivers rear quarter panel around the tail light has cracked paint from him side swiping a pole in a parking lot while backing out of a spot. The front bumper has paint on it from a similar parking fiasco but is not damaged. Lastly the rear passenger side door is scraped and slightly indented also from parking. I believe if the panel to the door is removed, that the indentation (which did not crack or buckle the paint), can be pushed out. Some metal trim around the windows show discoloration. Minor rubber deterioration in window bays. No weather leaks from anywhere including the sunroof.

The interior of the car only has issue with the front seats but mostly the drivers seat which shows much wear and is even beginning to open at the seam. It will need to be covered or replaced. The carpeting and head liner are undamaged, and the back seats are in very good condtion

All electric windows, seats and doors work perfect.

Totally uncovered BMW M3 caught by helmet cam

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

Sure, we've seen - and even ridden in - the 2015 BMW M3 before, but always under the cover of camouflage. Proving that it's always nice to be in the right place at the right time, a motorcyclist managed to capture a completely undisguised 2015 M3 (codenamed F80) on video during a closed-road photo shoot.
Road & Track has the helmet cam video, which shows the bright blue M3 doing a three-point turn as it follows a camera car possibly for an upcoming commercial or launch video. While the images are grainy, we do get to see some of the styling details for the next-gen M3. Aside from the extra set of doors, this M3 looks a lot like the Concept M4 Coupe we met a few months ago, including the bulging hood, oddly shaped door mirrors and the wide, vented front fenders. The aggressive fascia, big wheels/low-profile tires and quad exhaust outlets all but confirm this is the production M3 we'll be seeing at the Detroit Auto Show in a couple of months.
We've put together a gallery using screen shots from the video, but check out the video posted below to see the new M3 in motion.

Weekly Recap: The divergent paths of Tesla and Fisker

Sat, 02 Aug 2014

There's no doubt that Tesla is downshifting while Fisker has been grinding its gears. But it wasn't always that way.
In the wake of Tesla's recent success, it's easy to forget that there were once two California electric carmakers with bright futures.

2015 BMW X4 slides in on the diagonal starting at $45,625 in the US

Wed, 05 Mar 2014

If BMW has shown us anything, it's a knack for creating niches and expanding its product portfolio. Go back to the early '90s and it had essentially four models: the 3 Series, 5 Series, 6 Series and 7 Series. End of list. Since then, the Bavarian automaker has not only taken on Mini and Rolls-Royce, but has expanded its own range of models exponentially. You can chalk a big part of that up to crossovers, and another sizable chunk to giving existing models a different roofline and calling it something new. What we have here is a prime example of both.
Previewed in concept form the better part of a year ago at the Shanghai Motor Show, the slantback version of the X3 (and the baby brother to the X6) is now here in full production guise. Mechanically it's essentially the same as the new X3 on which it's based, but amps up the "sport" at the expense of the "utility" part of the SUV equation.
BMW will undoubtedly offer a wide range of powertrain configurations in markets around the world, but back in the United States it'll be offered in two specs: the X4 xDrive28i, packing a 2.0-liter inline-four with 240 horsepower and a $45,625 sticker price (including destination), or the X4 xDrive35i with the 300hp 3.0-liter six and a $48,925 MSRP. Either way, you're getting an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive.
