Bmw 2002tii Base Coupe 2-door 2002 on 2040-cars
Naples, Florida, United States
Welcome and thank you for looking. Up for your consideration is a 1974 BMW 2002tii. I am the 2nd owner and truly hate to sell this awesome driving machine. When I purchased the 2002tii in 1996 it had 110,000 original miles. The 1st owners kept the 2002tii in top running order, the only thing it need was a new interior. I drove the car until 2000 when I started the restoration with removing parts. The car has always run very strong with no leaks or problems of any kind. In 2000 life took over and I was unable to finish restoration. The car has sat in a storage for the last 14 years in Kentucky and have now just brought it to Florida for sell. There is no rust in the car only surface rust and dirt. I am also including a Gertrag 245 5 speed transmission for the 5 speed conversion to the 2002tii. If you have any questions please feel free to ask as I will reply in a timely manner. Thank you and good bidding. Sorry the pictures did not load, I will have them up by Wed August 6. Thank you for your patience. On Aug-06-14 at 19:22:05 PDT, seller added the following information: I am having the tire replaced so it will be ready for transport at end of auction. I am also including a 5th BMW basket weave wheel to add as the spare. If this awesome BMW does not sell than I am putting everything I can in the proper restore for this fine automobile. I have a garage full of parts I have been collecting for years totaling almost 2 cars worth, like a pair of real nice LUX door panels, a center console with A/C from a 2000tii Touring. So I'm prepared to make this car an awesome restore if it doesn't sell in this auction. |

Jalopnik and Consumer Reports see who can pull off the best snow drift
Fri, Feb 20 2015The weather throughout much of the United States is pretty awful at the moment with some combination of extremely low temperatures, inches of snow and maybe some ice underneath it all. The folks at Jalopnik and Consumer Reports are making the absolute best out of a difficult situation by heading to CR's snow-covered test track and attempting to make the longest drift in a quartet of very different performance vehicles. Jalopnik brought along a Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S Wagon, a Subaru WRX STI, a BMW 228i and a 1973 Volkswagen Baja Bug (heck yeah!) for the challenge. Also, the track was perfect for this group, with a mix of packed snow in places and still a few inches of unsullied powder in spots too. Ostensibly the goal was to get the tail to step out through a particular corner, but in reality this was more about having hilarious fun in the snow with fast cars. The result just looks like the best time humanly possible in this weather.
This insane Barris-like custom car is a backyard BMW Z3 build
Fri, Jan 9 2015This is the second car made by Englishman Paul Bacon and it's called the Cosmotron, fashioned over 18 months in his backyard shed. Underneath that Jetsons bubble canopy and swinging-sixties body are the bones of a 1998 BMW Z3 with a 2.8-liter inline-six. Bacon stripped the roadster down, then built it back up using fiberglass laid over polystyrene foam, and leather hand-stitched by his wife. Bacon said he remembers how we were told that 21st-century cars would look like the Cosmotron, and since they don't, he had to fix the error. The list of 20th-century add-ons, however, is impressive, like the six SU carburetors topped off with department-store salt and pepper shakers, and the rear grille decorated with shiny plastic tops from moisturizer bottles. After driving the Cosmotron for two years, Bacon sold it to get ready for his third project. You can hear Bacon and the new buyer tell their stories in the video above.
BMW 4 Series production coupe caught on commercial shoot
Fri, 22 Mar 2013Despite filming at 2:00 AM and at an undisclosed location, BMW minders filming a commercial for the fast-approaching 4 Series coupe were unable to ward off the long lenses of spy photographers. The result, as you can see here, is our first-ever look at the production version of BMW's new coupe, completely uncovered.
The night shots may be a little bit grainy, but the fast-moving 4 Series still looks pretty good with its camo closeted, matching the svelte lines of the concept car we saw in Detroit this winter. Expect that the 4 coupe will come to market with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder in 428i trim, and a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder in 435i spec.
Take your time looking through our gallery of movie-star 4 Series photographs, and tell us what you think about the uncovered Bimmer, in comments.
