History The O2 belonged to a University of Washington professor since new. Original West Coast O2. The original sticker shows purchased from Hoffman Motor Corp in Los Angels CA on 8-10-1970 for $3885.50 :) This O2 is almost all Classic and sorted nicely. The new owner will not have to do much. Just drive and smile. Preventive maintenance only. Engine Condition Top Overhaul performed in 2012. M10 header, Cam and valve springs installed. Easliy will take off to 90 MPH in Highways. (Will furnish details to the right buyer) Interior Condition Almost all original, New Esty Carpet, SKAI Leatherette seats still soft. Dash looks good, 1 minor hair line crack, all instruments work, Exterior Condition Paint looks awesome, but if you are picky you could paint in 2-3 years. All chrome shiny and in very good shape. Car is straight. Driver Door need adjustment and lock needs some TLC. Glass looks good shines Wheels and Tires New bottle cap BMW and new Toyo radials. BMW 2 Series Convertible goes for a drive in the cold
Wed, 13 Feb 2013The BMW 2 Series is the car that will eventually replace the 1 Series here in the United States (remember: the 1 Series moniker will live on to describe the hatchback models in other markets), and while we've seen the new coupe out on the prowl, we're now seeing the droptop version out on the road. We don't have much information about the new 2er models, only that they are expected to bow sometime in 2014.
Dimensionally, the new 2 Series convertible looks very similar in size to its outgoing 1 Series kin, with things like the roofline and roof shape looking nearly identical. Of course, reworked front and rear fascias are immediately noticeable, and judging by what little we can see, it appears as though the small BMW will take many of its design cues from the larger 3 Series rather than the oft-awkward-looking 1 Series hatch that's currently available in Europe.
Assuming things are still on track for 2014, we won't rule out a possible debut in Geneva, though the Frankfurt expo in September makes even more sense.
2015 BMW X6
Mon, 13 Oct 2014Most everyone would agree that BMW offers a range of very attractive and well-proportioned coupes, sedans, crossovers and wagons. Yet there is one member of its family that has always struck us as a bit odd: the X6.
Proudly coined "The world's first Sports Activity Coupe" by its German maker, the X6 features a wedge-shaped body with a characteristic sloping roofline that appears to squash the heads of its second-row occupants. The crossover rides high off the ground, with a pronounced gap between its chassis and oversized wheel/tire package, capped by short overhangs on both ends. Although curious to the eyes, its overall styling is masculine, and its stance aggressive.
Whether you consider the X6 to be attractive or an eyesore - opinions seem about equally divided - there is nobody at BMW questioning its business model. As of today, the automaker has sold more than 260,000 copies of its five-door crossover, which is why it has flown us to Spartanburg, SC, to sample its second-generation 2015 BMW X6.
BMW M2 reportedly green-lit
Thu, 01 May 2014A BMW M2 is on the way, according to a sub-forum in the Bimmerpost empire. Of course, we're actively enjoying a few grains of salt, just to be safe, as the post doesn't mention explicit sources, saying only that "multiple inside sources (who have been accurate in the past)," have confirmed the car.
Provided the forum is correct, though, there's some juicy information here. Production is allegedly slated for late fall 2015, with deliveries likely starting in early 2016. The new sports coupe should arrive with 365 to 375 horsepower, courtesy of an upgraded version of BMW's N55 turbocharged, 3.0-liter inline-six.
The report claims BMW also considered a modified version of the 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder found in the Mini Cooper S. That engine, known internally as the B48, would have been called the S48 for M2 duty, a significance that we're sure BMW purists would appreciate (the only BMW engine to wear an S designation was the four-cylinder from the legendary E30 M3).
