1972 Bmw 2002 Verona 4 Speed Not Rusty Unmolested on 2040-cars
Weyers Cave, Virginia, United States
I have a 1972 BMW 2002 I have for owned about 7 years up for sale. I have been daily driven until the past week. Nice clean car which is not rusty or molested with original paint. Suspension Technics springs and sway bars with Koni shocks, very tight handling. Has a 2.0L and a 4 speed manual transmission with a 320IS limited slip rear diff. I also have the original seats, and the front bumper. Will come with the original steering wheel (I will keep the steering wheel shown in the photos). Has a tubular exhaust header, with 2 1/2" custom exhaust. Since I have owned it I have rebuild/replaced all brake components, clutch master and slave cylinders, sealed beam headlights, front wheel bearings, electric fuel pump, pointless ignition, front windshield seal, and alternator bushings. I'm sure I'm forgetting things. It has a Weber 32/36 carb with electric choke, runs well but can be cold natured. I installed a crank pulley and trigger wheel from 02 Again and the mechanical fuel block off plate, intended to convert to megasquirt fuel injection. New M3 starter also. Rear trunk lock assembly is missing. The BMW is listed locally, I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. I have too many projects and haven't been able to take this car to the level I wanted. I would like to see it go to someone who will appreciate it and continue improving it.
Additional items: Poly motor mounts Poly trans mounts Poly rear trailing arm bushings (need to be installed) Since I converted over to pointless ignition, the tach does not indicate. Everything else is in working order. |

Sunday Drive: A new Rambo Lambo takes center stage
Sun, Dec 10 2017Surprise! Autoblog readers love fast cars. Doesn't matter what shape; doesn't matter what size. As long as it's got big power, wicked acceleration, and ludicrous speed, you're interested. Take, for instance, the brand-new Lamborghini Urus. It's got a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 sending 641 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque through an 8-speed automatic transmission to all four wheels. It hits 62 miles per hour in 3.6 seconds, and has a top speed of 189.5 mph. Ludicrous speed? Check. And although you'd be hard pressed to draw a line straight back from the upcoming Urus to the old, off-road-ready LM002, at least you can say that Lamborghini does have a history of producing overpowered SUVs. A 5.2-liter V12 engine producing 444 horsepower and borrowed from the Countach certainly qualifies as big power, especially considering this was in the 1980s and '90s. A prime example just sold for nearly half a million bucks. Moving along to more traditional sportscars, we got a sneak peek at the next Porsche 911's interior, thanks to some intrepid spy photographers. And we spy with our little eyes some major changes to the quintessential German sportscar. Finally, we round out this Sunday Drive with two First Drive reports. Both are German, but past that, they couldn't be more different. Either way, ludicrous speed is all but guaranteed by either one. As always, stay tuned to Autoblog for all the latest automotive news that's fit to print. BMW joins the early holiday advertising fray with three new ads
Thu, 06 Nov 2014October 31 is no longer known as Halloween, or All Saints' Eve or even as that day when all children simultaneously develop huge cavities. It's now known as the day before Christmas/holiday advertising begins. Seriously, as of November 1, it seems like companies across the country and from every industry have declared open season on holiday ad campaigns. It's all premature enough that we're already feeling our inner Grinch showing, but at least some of the ads are better done than others.
Among them are new spots from BMW, which has arrived with this mini-campaign of three 30-second, Christmas-themed spots. There's a cameo from Santa Claus, who's at the helm of a sleek M6 Gran Coupe in one spot, while a 3 Series Gran Coupe slices through a slalom of Christmas trees in another. The final spot, called "Road Home", doesn't focus so much on the brand's "Ultimate Driving Machines," as it does the trip home for the holidays.
We've embedded all three videos below, so take a look and then let us know what you think of this seemingly perpetual holiday marketing calendar creep - and the BMW ads in particular - in Comments.
2014 BMW 328d xDrive Sport Wagon
Fri, 11 Apr 2014There's a running joke among auto writers that the perfect car would be a diesel-powered, rear-drive wagon with manual transmission and no power accessories whatsoever. It would only be available in brown and would somehow be as fun to drive as a Mazda MX-5 Miata. Makes total sense, right?
Realistically, no manufacturer is ever going to completely fulfill our wishes, no matter how much we beg, plead, kick and scream about our dream car that most of us would actually never buy. The best we can do is hope for a vehicle that mixes some aspects of this ideal journalist's car. And in today's world, that vehicle just might be the BMW 328d xDrive Sport Wagon.
No, it's not available with a manual gearbox, and power can only be sent through an xDrive all-wheel-drive system. It's also not available in brown (although both Mojave Metallic and Sparkling Bronze Metallic are acceptable stand-ins), but it ticks the two main boxes of being a diesel-powered wagon, one of only a couple such models in the United States.
