1972 Bmw 2002 Base 2.0l on 2040-cars
Sneedville, Tennessee, United States
1972 BMW 2002 Inka orange, 4 spd manual, clean title.
This car is in good condition. I have owned it since 2007 and since then I have had the seats reupholstered in as near original material as could be found ( almost perfect match). It does however need new carpet. I have replaced the front tie rod assembly, flex disc (guibo), ignition wires, right and left motor mounts, trans mount and this year I have installed a new alternator, radiator, coolant hose and heater hose kit, German hose clamps everywhere except fuel line at carb ( they sent the wrong size), Never anything but BMW coolant. Engine freshened up with new rings, bearings, gaskets, oil pump chain, new rocker shaft on intake side of head. When the engine was apart all the crank and rod journal were checked with a micrometer and within spec not to need turned. cylinder bores checked with bore micrometer and in great condition (factory hone marks still visible). Pistons were checked at nominal diameter and good. Fuel line is new BMW 8mm. I have new braided reservoir to master cylinder lines not yet installed. Master cylinder rebuilt, new clutch slave cylinder. Vin # on engine matches that on the body. This car is a daily driver, speedo doesn't work, but I drive it 100 miles round trip five days a week........ Very dependable. |

Toyota sells off Tesla shares, too
Fri, 24 Oct 2014The incredible rise of Tesla's stock price has done little to now stop two major shareholders from ditching their stake in the American EV manufacturer. First, Daimler, parent company of Mercedes-Benz, ditched its four-percent stake, and less than a week later, Toyota is doing the same thing, selling off an undisclosed bit of its Tesla investment.
The move comes as Toyota winds down sales of the RAV4 EV, which gets its batteries and electric motor from Tesla at the company's Fremont, CA factory.
"We have a good relationship with Tesla, and will evaluate the feasibility of working together on future projects," Toyota spokesperson Kayo Doi told Bloomberg via email.
First Ride: 2015 BMW M3 and M4
Wed, 25 Sep 2013Getting Our Butts In The Seats
Both the non-M BMW 3 Series sedan and 4 Series coupe have so far brought much pleasure to us at Autoblog. The terrific four-cylinder 328i trim has become our favorite of the 3 Series line, while we have yet to get a chance at the 428i coupe. That said, the 35i trim powered by a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine is not exactly to be sniffed at.
We all know the ones you're really waiting for, though. The F80 fifth-generation M3 sedan and the supremely sexy F82 M4 coupe. Rumors have been buzzing for a couple of years now that the engine would be another V8, only turbocharged this time, or else a tri-turbo six. Well, today BMW confirmed that the mill under the hood's power bulge is a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo of the biturbo variety, referred to internally as "S55B30 variant."
BMW recalls diesel X5 models over fuel filter heater
Mon, 19 Aug 2013
BMW has announced that it is recalling 1,540 examples of its 2009 and 2010 X5 xDrive35d crossovers produced between June 13, 2009 and November 9, 2009.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the model's fuel filter heater, which warms up the diesel fuel at low outside temperatures, can experience an electrical overload condition that may cause it to become permanently activated. This means the fuel filter heater could remain activated even when the ignition is off, which could lead to a dead battery. It could also lead to overheating, possibly resulting in a fire.
