1971 BMW 2002 - Beautiful Colorado Orange

This 1971 BMW 2002 spent most of it's life in California and has a salvage title. I bought it in San Diego and sent it straight to 2002AD in LA to be looked over. Record of repairs at 2002AD is available.

This car sat under a garage in LaJolla for many years with its hood up which caused the rust on the hood and the surface rust on inside of engine bay. It was hit in the right front fender in the early 80's and a new right front fender from BMW was installed. This is the reason for the salvage title, back then the car was worth very little so it was considered totaled.

There is some surface rust under the car, a few rust spots on the very bottoms of the fenders, and one rust spot above the windshield. No other damage is seen. Shock towers, rails, and floorboards are all solid

The car runs, drives, and shifts very well. Features a 4 Speed manual transmission. Very desirable Colorado orange exterior paint. Tires are new. There is no smoke on accel/deceleration and it runs cool with no overheating issues. Heat works, blower motor works. You can drive this car like it is, very dependable. Interior is excellent, the only dash I have ever seen on a 2002 with NO cracks! Seats are in fantastic condition.

This 2002 is for sale locally and the auction may be ended at any time.

Please contact me with any questions. Thanks!

Wedding couple celebrates nuptials in the parking lot with donuts

Sat, 21 Dec 2013

Weddings are often joyous, fun-filled occasions full of revelry and some serious celebrating. And while we appreciate the fact that a couple is being joined together, we have a feeling a video like this could have very easily ruined said couple's big day.
It stars a bride, a groom and a BMW M3. But rather than the couple being in the car and laying down some rubber, the E46 M3 is doing donuts around the couple. We shouldn't have to explain why this is a bad idea - even if the driver is competent, this could have gone wrong pretty easily. Still, it didn't, and the end result is pretty cool.

Ken Block and friends race light in silly-beautiful Castrol commercial

Wed, 28 May 2014

How does one make fast, loud, drifting cars better? Well, you can add more fast, loud, drifting cars or you can add lasers. Either or, really. In this case, Castrol did the right thing and added both, creating a highly stylized commercial for its Edge Titanium motor oil starring South African racer Adrian Zaugg, BMW factory driver Augusto Farfus, Audi DTM and Le Mans staple Mike Rockenfeller and some bloke named Ken Block.
Their cars? No surprise, but Block is in his Ford Fiesta GRC, while Zaugg samples a Lamborghini Aventador and Farfus and Rockenfeller drive along party lines, with a BMW M4 and an Audi R8, respectively. And those cars look good, too, thanks to the creative light and laser work on display.
Take a look below for the video from Castrol.

BMW maintenance plan no longer transferrable to 2nd owner

Tue, 12 Aug 2014

One of the best innovations in car buying in recent years is the rise of no-cost scheduled maintenance programs. Many people feel really anxious about taking their car in for service, and these deals help mitigate that somewhat. Obviously, it's not free for automakers to implement the offers, and now BMW is altering the way its four-year, 50,000-mile Maintenance Program works for some owners. "To keep such an offer sustainable we had to make a change," said Kenn Sparks, Manager of Business Communications at BMW North America, to Autoblog via email.
The original person to buy or lease the model isn't going to see any difference, but the program is no longer transferable to a second owner, unless that person is in the owners household. Those people include includes parents, siblings, grandparents and grandchildren, in addition to someone like a spouse or children. The original owner just has to advise BMW of new user. "The program change will affect 2nd owners and for them BMW is introducing an optional full-maintenance product that covers the vehicle up to 100,000 miles," said Sparks.
