2011 Audi TTS Roadster with Prestige Package in Scuba Blue. Our new house will have limited garage space, so that means something has to go and the Harley beat out the Audi. :) We are non-smokers, have no kids, and typically work from home, and I'm meticulous about maintenance and cleaning.

This car is bad ass. It gets looks everywhere we go and it seems to attract the opposite sex like insects to a bug zapper. Just last week, my wife got hit on twice in one day and I took it to the store that same day and was flirted with also... and we're not nearly as good-looking as you.

It does 0-60 in 5 seconds, has AWD and handles like it's on rails. It has Audi's Magnetic Ride Suspension that makes you feel like you're part of the car. It was driven by my wife, although not much as it only has 21,800 miles on it. It's in perfect condition and it even comes with a spare set of winter wheels and tires that are like new. It's a small car but feels much bigger inside, as I'm 6'3" and 260# and it feels very spacious to me.

Oh, it also comes with the Certified Pre-Owned Warranty, which is good for 6 years and 100,000 miles. You will have to pay $150 to transfer it to yourself, but it's well worth it. This car even has the ski case that comes with the Audis... and it's never been used.

The only options that were available for this trim level were Navigation and heated seats, both of which this car has.
  • Spare set of 17" wheels with winter tires
  • Engine: 2.0 Liter, Inline 4 Cylinder TFSI
  • Transmission: 6-Speed Automatic with paddle shifters and S-Tronic manual mode
  • Horsepower: 265
  • Torque: 258
  • Drivetrain: AWD - Quattro
  • Seats: power, leather, and heated
  • Mirrors: power and heated
  • Universal remote for garages and security system
  • Audio controls on steering wheel
  • Bose sound system with 9 speakers
  • Bluetooth
  • Navigation
  • iPod connector in glovebox
  • Rain sensing windshield wipers
  • Power convertible roof
  • Power rear spoiler (it will go up when needed at speed or you can raise it on your own just to look cool)
  • 19" alloy wheels with 255/35R19 Tires
  • 4-Wheel ABS brakes
  • Xenon high intensity lights
  • Rollbars behind each seat
  • Power windscreen to reduce wind buffeting (I was skeptical, but it makes a HUGE difference)

Audi testing all-new, third-gen TT prototype

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

It's no big surprise that Audi is working on a new TT. It's been rumored for a while now, and the current model has been on the market since 2006, making it seven years old. But after seeing only some test mules wearing the existing model's sheetmetal, this is the first glimpse we've gotten at what Audi has in store for it's third-gen TT.
Not that we can see all that much with all the camouflage, mind you, but that's still more than we've seen until now. Spied on public roads being benchmarked against the Mercedes-Benz SLK and BMW Z4, the upcoming new TT is still unmistakably a TT, but looks poised to adopt more contemporary styling in keeping with Audi's latest design language, including a larger grille aperture and more squared-off headlights.
The whole thing looks a bit more like a mini-R8, which would make sense if Audi has called off plans for an R4 sports car to slot into the lineup as well. Last we heard, the new TT would arrive late in 2014, when you can bet we'll read all about slightly more powerful but significantly more frugal engines and a raft of new technologies.

GRAND-AM, IMSA announce deal to bring DTM racing to US

Fri, 29 Mar 2013

It won't be until 2015 at the earliest, but the International Motor Sports Association (IMSA), Grand-Am and the Internationale Tourenwagen-Rennen have agreed to a licensing and cooperation deal that could bring a version of Germany's DTM series to the US.
When the American Le Mans Series and Grand-Am are officially combined next year, the resulting body will be called United SportsCar Racing (USCR). IMSA will be the sanctioning body for that series, and DTM races could be run as support events. It was also suggested by an ALMS chief that DTM races could be standalone or join NASCAR and IndyCar weekends.
With the so-called DTM America finally agreed to, there is now a way for manufacturers to run the same DTM-type cars in Europe, the US and Japan - last year Japan's Super GT series agreed to adopt "the basic technical regulations" of DTM for the GT500 class, the top class in the series. That already puts six manufacturers in play: Mercedes-Benz, Audi and BMW that run in Germany's DTM and Honda, Nissan and Lexus that run in Super GT. The DTM oversight body has invited American brands to Germany for the opening round of the 2013 season, and will begin actively courting their participation in the US series. Check out the press release from Audi with comments on the deal below.

Audi design getting big overhaul?

Tue, 16 Apr 2013

Car and Driver has an update on the design shuffle in Ingolstadt that will ultimately bring more differentiation to Audi products. Last November, Audi design chief Wolfgang Egger spoke of the need to do "something new without breaking from tradition" in Audi design, but talk at the time centered on how the Crosslane Coupe Concept would influence the new looks of the brand's Q cars. The most recent moves appear focused on passenger cars, with designers from Volkswagen Group kin like Bentley and Seat moving to Audi, and outsiders from Alfa Romeo moving in.
While Egger decreed the end of "scalable design" to CD, last November's report said there would be more technology and "greater visual cohesion" between interior and exterior design. We still have no idea what all this means nor when we'll see visible changes in production, but at least we know there's something being done behind the scenes.
