2013 - Audi S7 Prestige on 2040-cars
Royal Palm Beach, Florida, United States
This S7 was specially ordered from Germany. The original color is Metallic black. I had the car wrapped in flat Blue with titanium accents which cost $2900. The wrap also protects the original color underneath. The inside is silver diamond. This car is extremely loaded and very lightly driven. I have ordered another car that arrives in the next 90 days, I am hoping to sell this one to prevent having both. I am currently driving the S7 30-45 miles per month, back and forth from my office which is located .4 miles from my house. This car in comfort mode will reduce the V8 to four cylinders to reach around 27ish MPG. IF you place the car in Dynamic, the car automatically lowers 2/3" for a more aggressive drive. at 85MPH the rear spoiler comes out of the trunk. The navigation is run by google earth. This car is amazing. I also purchased the AUDI Care Plus Package. This covers maintenance. Lunar Silver Valcona leather seating, with contrast diamond stitching Carbon Atlas inlay 20" 5-parallel-spoke star design wheels with 265/35 summer performance tires· MMI® Navigation plus with voice control system· MMI® touch with handwriting-recognition technology· Audi connect® with six-month trial subscription· BOSE® Surround Sound System with 14 speakers, AudioPilot® noise compensation and 630 watts· 7" color driver information system· HD Radio™ Technology· SiriusXM® Satellite Radio with 90-day trial subscription· SiriusXM® Traffic with four-year subscription· Cruise control with coast, resume and accelerate features· Audi music interface with iPod® integration· BLUETOOTH® wireless technology preparation for mobile phone· BLUETOOTH® streaming audio· Garage door opener (HomeLink®)· Audi advanced key—keyless start, stop and entry· Parking system plus with rear view camera (front and rear sensors)· Audi side assist with pre sense® rear· Audi drive select· Rain/light sensor for automatic windshield wipers and headlights The S7 is powered by a 420-hp variation of the brand’s new twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8. This engine, at the same output level, also motivates the new S6; it makes more power in s8 and base Bentley Continental GT. There’s considerable commonality with the naturally aspirated 4.2-liter FSI V-8 still offered in other models, but the new engine features a number of enhancements, chief among them a pair of twin-scroll turbochargers and an indirect intercooler, all placed in the vee between the cylinder heads. The crankshaft design carries over from the 4.2 FSI, with reduced stroke; friction losses are significantly reduced. A cylinder-deactivation system—it closes the valves of cylinders 2, 3, 5, and 8 under light loads—helps fuel economy noticeably, especially when cruising in higher gears at constant speed. An engine stop-start system is standard. In the S7, the 4.0 TFSI engine is mated to a strengthened DL501 seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission; the S8, with its 520-hp "4.0 TFSI-plus" engine, is coupled to an eight-speed torque-converter automatic.

The 2017 Acura NSX will cost $156,000
Fri, Dec 18 2015Back in October, when our Editor-in-Chief Mike Austin drove the 2017 Acura NSX for the first time in the Bay Area and at Sonoma Raceway, we guessed that the hybrid supercar would start at around the $170,000 price point. We weren't that far off – it starts at $156,000, and tops out around $205,000. But now that we have a solid sense of what Acura thinks this car is worth, and we know what they benchmarked the NSX against, we can compare apples to apples. Let's be clear: we like this car. Austin described it as "makes you giggle" fast, everyday-comfortable, and chock full of impressive party tricks like seamless shifting – with only a few foibles, like numb steering, to spoil the illusion of perfection. Back to the benchmarked cars. Acura says the NSX will compete with the Audi R8, and was developed to compete with the now-superseded 458 Italia. Let's start with the 2017 R8 V10 Plus – pricing hasn't been released, and a direct Euro-to-USD conversion isn't the whole story, but it starts at the equivalent of $179,000 in Europe. For that, the R8 V10 Plus provides 610 horsepower, a seven-speed DCT, and a 3.2-second sprint to 60 mph. The 458's successor, the 488 GTB, should be more expensive than the $243,000 the old model started at, and provides 661 hp, a seven-speed dual-clutch, and a 0-60 time of around three seconds (official numbers haven't been released for acceleration). For less money than either of these cars, the NSX delivers ... less. Total system output is 573 hp. It has a slight edge in gear count, at nine speeds, and should beat the R8 to 60 mph. But there's no V10, let alone Ferrari's feral turbocharged V8. It'll be up to buyers to determine if the compromises involved are worth a few thousand dollars in savings, if no options are selected. It should also be noted that Acura describes this as its first "built-to-order" vehicle, but the limited external color options and interior schemes don't appear to be much different than the extent to which you can customize an Accord. The configurator goes live on February 25th, if you want to see for yourself. Lastly, in what now seems to be a necessary part of a new high-end car launch, Acura will auction off VIN 001, the first production NSX, at Barrett-Jackson in January. All proceeds from that auction will benefit two charities: the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Camp Southern Ground. Audi, Jag, Kia and Tesla top Strategic Vision 2014 Total Quality Index
Sun, 06 Jul 2014A couple weeks ago, J.D. Power released its latest Initial Quality Study, which gave high marks to Porsche, Hyundai and General Motors, with the latter earning more individual IQS awards than any other manufacturer. Now, it's Strategic Vision's turn, and it's doling out its praise not to Porsche, but to Tesla, which wasn't even included in the JD Power IQS.
The Model S was named the best vehicle overall in total quality, while Porsche's corporate brother and endurance-racing rival, Audi, was named the best premium brand, alongside Jaguar. Strategic Vision cited the Q5 and the ancient Q7 for individual segment awards, as well as the A5, which was a mere point off the top of its segment. SV also handed out compliments for the Audi's interior work. The win for the German brand is a nice improvement over its IQS score, with which it landed above the industry average, but solidly mid-pack.
Jaguar was without a segment winner, although SV did say that the Indian-owned English brand had a number of vehicles very near the top of their segments. This is the second significant win for Jag in two weeks, after it finished second overall on the JD Power IQS a few weeks ago.
2017 Audi R8 First Drive
Tue, Jul 14 2015You might think the new Audi R8 is a Lamborghini in a business suit. You'd be wrong; the Huracan is an R8 in a Heinlein shock trooper suit. This is the most raucous, rowdy Audi yet, and it's most certainly a supercar – even when parked next to its bawdier Italian cousin. Although the Huracan has been on the street for nearly a year now, the new R8 and the Lambo were developed in parallel. Audi handled most of the engineering workload, with the Huracan receiving Lamborghini's styling and tuning finesse on top of its Audi-built V10 engine and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The R8 gets Audi's motorsports-inspired best. Tally it all up and you have two very different cars built from very similar components. Of course, that could also be said of the R8 and its racing doppelganger, the R8 LMS, the racecar built for WEC endurance racing. That car, in fact, is more closely related to the R8 than is the road-going Huracan – the wheelbases are the same, 50 percent of the parts are shared, and the bodies-in-white are built on the same line. The racecars are pulled off line for occasional tweaks or additions, then slotted back in to run through most of the same workflow as the R8s that will eventually end up on the streets. Like a new pair of your favorite shoes, the new R8 is familiar and foreign at the same time. This development program pulls from the best of a legendary supercar brand's flair for presence and idiosyncrasy. It also takes lessons from the company's customer racing effort, as well as Audi's own impeccable taste in road manners and clean, elegant design. The end result is an inspired supercar with daily-driver comfort and a surprisingly aggressive side. Like a new pair of your favorite shoes, the new R8 is familiar and foreign at the same time. It's more comfortable and compliant on the street, thanks to a new chassis that's 40 percent stiffer, allowing for a more forgiving suspension tune. The completely reworked 5.2-liter V10 engine has a Great White bite to go with its Rottweiler bark, but only after you provoke it from polite mode with a press of either the Drive Select button or the exhaust sound switch. The seats are comfortable – that can be said for both the standard sport seats or optional carbon-shell, race-style buckets. Wrapped in a cabin that's much more futuristic and forward-looking than the last R8, the overall driving experience is refined, luxurious, and high-tech.
