Up for auction is my 2003 Audi TT convertible. I have owned this vehicle for the better part of five years and have loved it since day one. I still have people pull up next to me at a stop light and compliment on how nice it looks. The reason I have decided to sell is that I have moved out of state and I am in the process of selling some major items that I have not decided to transport, the Audi being one of them. It has only seen limited, around town driving in the last several months.
This car is truly a car for all seasons. In the summer with the top down it really is a head turner with the roll bars and glass wind deflector. In the winter, it is perfectly at home on snowy or icy roads thanks to it's Quattro all-wheel drive, all-season tires (which are all less than two years old), and electronic slip protection. This car does better in the snow than full-size trucks I have owned. And let's not forget the heated seats that I'm pretty sure could double as a stove top if you turn them up all the way. The car has only seen very limited winter driving over the last three winters and spent most of it's time in the garage, only being driven once every month or so just so it didn't sit for long periods of time without running or moving.
Equipped with a 1.8L 5V turbocharged, twin-intercooled four cylinder motor producing 225 hp, I have never had a personal complaint about not having enough power or response. It really is a blast to drive this car and I still get a kick out of the sound of the turbo spooling up when I hit the gas. All the while currently maintaining 29.2 average miles to the gallon. I have gone for well over 400 miles on a single fill-up.
The soft top was replaced two years ago.
Several major wear items were replaced around the 65,000 mile mark. These include the timing belt, clutch, and flywheel as well as the water pump (water pump wasn't bad, but the Audi dealer that did the service told me that it is in a very difficult position on the engine to access and since that spot on the engine was already exposed due to the replacement of the timing belt, they highly recommended I go ahead and have it replaced to save on a substantial labor bill to replace a $100 part). The lcd screen in the gauge cluster (a common problem among TTs) was also replaced a few months back. The battery and front brakes (rotors and pads) have been replaced in the last two months.
Other options on the vehicle include:
- Six-disc CD changer
- Bose Concert stereo (sounds amazing!)
- Security system
- Integrated garage door opener
Overall, the vehicle is in good condition. It does have a few nicks and dings inside and out that it has collected over the years. Only two notable issues exist. First, the check engine light is on. The trouble code comes back as a faulty O2 sensor. I have not bothered to have it replaced since it does not effect drivability in any way and the nearest Audi dealer is over an hour away. Next is part of the factory gasket that seals between the driver side window and the top is missing. A new piece of gasket is in place and I haven't noticed any leakage, but it does not sit flush with the factory pieces (see picture).
If you have any questions or would like additional pictures of something not shown in those already posted, send me message and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
THANKS FOR LOOKING AND HAPPY BIDDING!!!
VEHICLE IS FOR SALE LOCALLY IN ADDITION TO THIS EBAY LISTING AND I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY IN THE EVENT OF LOCAL SALE.

2016 Audi TTS Roadster opens up for all to see
Thu, 02 Oct 2014The five-door Sportback concept may be garnering the lion's share of attention as far as the TT goes, but that's just for show. The more tangible news from Audi's stylish sports car range at the
this year is the Roadster.
Like its predecessors, the new Audi TT Roadster ditches the coupe's fixed roof and rear seats in favor of an open two-seat cockpit with a traditional folding fabric enclosure that's quieter and lighter than the previous TT's mechanism.
Audi to unveil S1 hot hatch at Geneva Motor Show
Tue, 21 Jan 2014Audi has been toying with the idea of a hot hatch based on the A1 premium city car for some time now. It rolled out the 500-horsepower A1 Clubsport Quattro concept at the Wörthersee gathering a couple of years ago, then put its form (with half the power) into limited production with the 252hp A1 Quattro (pictured above) shortly thereafter. What it hasn't done is offer a mainstream S1 that people can actually get their hands on, but that's all about to change.
Following spy shots of numerous prototypes, Auto Express claims to have it on good authority that the new S1 will be unveiled at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March. Though likely less aggressive in its visual impact, the S1 is expected to get almost as much power as the aforementioned A1 Quattro, with a 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder sourced from the larger S3 but detuned to 230 hp.
A six-speed dual-clutch transmission is expected to drive all four wheels - something for which the platform was not originally designed but was later adapted to accommodate - though the availability of a six-speed manual remains in question. Unfortunately the A1 was never destined for the North American market, so as much as we might want one (and as much as Ingolstadt may be motivated to take a bite out of the Mini market), we wouldn't expect to see it roaring into American showrooms.
Audi highlights headlights on upcoming new R8
Mon, Feb 16 2015Audi is preparing to roll out an all-new R8... but it's not about to reveal the whole thing at once. So in the first in what promises to be a series of teasers, the German automaker is showing off the new supercar's headlights. (Or headlight, we should say, in the singular.) Not unlike the R8 LMX revealed in Paris, the second-generation Audi supercar will incorporate LED headlights with an optional laser high-beam module. Unfortunately since laser headlights are illegal in the United States, the option isn't likely to be offered here. That is, at least, until Audi succeeds in convincing federal regulators otherwise. Although the teaser image above, like the press release below, may shine the light (so to speak) principally on the headlights, the shrouded shape also gives us a (little) bit to chew on. Yes, it will be available in blue, but beyond that we can expect the new R8 to incorporate slightly more angular lines than the model it replaces, with a more pronounced trapezoidal grille up in an overall design similar to the new TT, only more so. But then we already knew that much and more from the undisguised image that leaked out a little over a week ago. Ingolstadt, 2015-02-16 Audi reveals laser headlights for the new R8 - New mid-engine sports car features high-tech headlights - Laser high-beam offers high light intensity and excellent range Audi is revealing the headlights of its new R8* as the first of a number of technology highlights of the top sports car. The R8 uses LED headlights which can be supplemented by a laser high beam lighting module as an option. The new R8 will set new standards among high-performance sports cars – including in its lighting technology. As an option, the latest car development by Audi can be equipped with a laser spot as the high-beam headlight. The special appeal of laser lighting is that it uses high-intensity laser diodes, which generate a lot of light energy from a very small component. Compared to LED high-beam headlights, laser high-beams attain nearly twice the lighting range. Each headlight contains one laser module that operates with four high-intensity laser diodes. This module bundles the four intense blue-light laser beams. Then a phosphor converter transforms the blue light into pure white light. An identifying characteristic of the laser headlights is their blue light signature. Standard equipment in the new R8 includes an LED headlight system.
