2001 Audi Tt Quattro Base Coupe 2-door 1.8l Project Car on 2040-cars
Lake City, Florida, United States
I got this car as a project from a guy I did some work for. I was told that the manual trans got stuck in 3rd gear and he brought the car home and parked it in his driveway where it sat for 2 years.I have since had a baby and do not have time for the car with work and family. I brought the car home and Put a set of jumper cables on it, It spun over but did not start, i sprayed some either in it and it started long enough to burn it off. I believe that the fuel pump possibly went bad from sitting. However it also appears that a squerrel got under the hood and chewed on the oil dip stick, battery box and some wires on top of battery box so it could be a chewed wire as well. The car exterior is going to need paint because clear coat is peeling and paint is fadded. The only rust i can find on the car is right bellow back window where water would sit when it was sitting. The car also has a few parking lot dings and a small dent in front fender that looks like another car door hit it. interior is in decent shape, not perfect but not bad. Im selling the car as a good project car that would make someone a very nice car with a little work. I have seen motors alone go for as much as im willing to let this car go for. Car will need to be towed. Feel free to ask questions and i will answer them the best I can. Car is being sold as is where is.

Nine-time Le Mans winner Tom Kristensen to retire
Wed, 19 Nov 2014Le Mans icon Tom Kristensen is retiring. The Danish driver, who was an integral part of Audi's absolute dominance at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, captured a record-breaking nine wins at the legendary endurance race, along with six overall victories at the 12 Hours of Sebring in a career that spanned 26 years.
"Over the past couple of months, my thoughts of retiring have been stronger, and therefore, it feels right to inform you today that I am retiring from motor racing," Kristensen told Autosport. "I still feel I am in peak physical form and possess the necessary mental toughness both in and outside of the car: it has been important for me to stop while I am still strong and able to deliver top performances at Audi."
While the World Endurance Championship's season-ending race at Interlagos on November 30 will be Kristensen's last as a driver, it won't be the end of his long-running association with Audi. According to Autosport, TK will take on a new role as an ambassador for the German marque and will work with team's drivers in an unspecified role.
Automakers teaming with Google to bring Android to cars this year
Mon, 06 Jan 2014Remember how we mentioned that Hyundai would be offering a BlueLink infotainment app for Google Glass? And how last week, we told you about a rumored partnership between Audi and Google? Well, both of these things were just part of a much bigger deal.
Google has teamed up with Audi, General Motors, Hyundai and Honda to form the Open Automotive Alliance. With the help of chipmaker NVIDIA, the group aims to bring Google's Android operating system to the auto industry on a large scale. While the speed with which Android will be adopted by the industry remains unclear - the OAA's own press release says "timing for each automaker will vary" - we could see the first Android-equipped vehicle by year's end.
For those that keep their ear to the ground in the automotive tech world, this is a big deal for more than just one reason - Honda, GM and Hyundai are all partners in the Siri Eyes Free program from Apple. The future of that relationship now that three of its automakers are in bed with Apple's arch-rival, though, could be under threat.
