-- Here it is in all its glory --

PLEASE LET ME STOP YOU NOW IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN INEXPENSIVE S8. SOME OF THESE CARS HAVE BEEN NEGLECTED, NOT MAINTAINED, ARE NEEDY, AND SIMPLY DO NOT FEEL RIGHT ANY MORE. OR EVEN WORSE, THEY ARE SOLD AS-IS WITH NO INSPECTION OR SERVICE! THIS S8 IS LOADED WITH OPTIONS; PREMIUM PACKAGE, COLD PACKAGE, CD CHANGER, SIDE AIRBAGS, PARKING SENSORS, NAVIGATION, REAR SIDE WINDOW SHADES, AND MORE. IT JUST COMPLETED AN INSPECTION AND I WILL BE DOING ALL THE WORK RECOMMENDED AT THE BIN PRICE. IT'LL BE GOOD TO GO WITH TONS OF SERVICE DONE. I HAVE BOUGHT AND SOLD OVER 65 S8'S....I KNOW WHAT THE GOOD ONES FEEL AND DRIVE LIKE, AND I CAN PROVIDE TONS OF REFERENCES FROM MY PREVIOUS S8 CLIENTS.

Here's the deal:

-- This is a 2002 Audi S8 4.2 V8 in ming blue metallic with ecru (tan) sport Recaro leather interior, and matching tan carpets. It has 117,xxx miles, looks like a million bucks, and drives like a million bucks too! Only two owners! ALL the paint on the aluminum body panels is original from the factory as measured by a digital paint meter. --

-- Exterior 8.75 out of 10 (I'm finicky) - Great overall condition paint, body, glass, and trim. No dents, and only a minor few scuffs, chips, and scratches. This S8 looks great, with a deep shine to its glossy blue metallic paint. This car looks great even under fluorescent light in a garage! --

-- This S8 has all its original body panels, and all original paint on them. Clean carfax with no accidents ever. The lower body moldings are in great shape. Chrome, rubber, glass, trim is all very nice, with some of the usual oxidation to the anodized aluminum trim. --

-- Look at the body panels.....they are laser straight. --

-- The tires are worn to about 10% tread remaining. But at the BIN price, I will install a nice set of Pirelli all-season 245/48/18 tires with about 55% tread remaining. The factory 18” alloy wheels are true with no bends. Some marks and minor rash to the wheels. This S8 drives straight as an arrow at any speed you choose. --

-- Interior 9 out of 10 - The interior is great. Overall including all seating and door leather, seat padding, dash, console, and carpets are in very nice condition. No dash cracks, no carpet rips, no significant wear on the leather. Everything looks and feels great. The armrest covers are present and working, no worn off silkscreens on the control buttons, etc. --

-- The door panels and wood trim are also in great shape, like the rest of the car. --

-- Even the trunk, headliner, and spare are mint. --

-- This S8 is fully loaded including premium package, cold weather package, parking sensors, xenon lights, side airbags, navigation, side window shades, and more. Almost everything you could get on a 2002 S8! --

-- SERVICES: Here is the best part, as I will do all of these things before delivery to thes new owner at the BIN price: a full timing belt job (tbelt, vbelt, water pump, cam seals, tstat, tensioner, roller, etc), valve cover gaskets, prop shaft seal, front brake pads and rotors, lower front control arms, A/C receiver/dryer and full system recharge, cam plugs, oil/filter change, and transmission pan gasket. That list, including the tires, is approximately $4500 at any authorized Audi dealer. I will do ALL OF IT at the BIN price. There will be nothing for you to do except drive. Wow! --

-- Electrical 10 out of 10 - All lights, switches, radio, windows, wipers, seat motors/memory, and power mirrors work perfectly. Power lock system, etc. all operating properly. The HVAC system is fast to respond, and perfect with hot heat and ice-cold A/C. --

--Mechanically 10 out of 10 - Engine starts, idles, runs, and revs to redline in every gear smooth and strong. Transmission is smooth yet aggressive, and downshifts eagerly. This S8 runs at high speed with no vibrations or noises. Fully inspected by an authorized Audi dealer and then serviced accordingly; drive without worry! --

-- Engine is strong and VERY eager to run, transmission very smooth and quick, especially in sport mode. No noise or smoke. Brakes are solid and pedal feel is firm. Suspension is tight like new, but floats on a cloud just like an S8 is supposed to do. Steering nicely weighted with no play in the box. This car drives and handles like new. --

-- This S8 just got its full inspection, and then will be fully serviced according to the Audi dealer’s recommendations. With the tires swapped, floor mats, and all the serviced listed above included that’s over $4500 in real value included at the BIN price!

-- This S8 has its books, working remote key (plus spare that your local dealer can cut and program to the car), original $78K+ MSRP, maintenance booklet, and ALL the warranty records. With only 117,xxx miles, it’s not even broken in yet! Full inspection is already complete. All you have to do is drive. --

-- Again, at the buy-it-now price, I will provide the following: the tires mentioned above, the services mentioned above including a full timing belt job, a full $200 detailing including engine bay, carpet shampoo, leather conditioning, orbital polishing, etc. I'll also include Audi floor mats, and ToughGuard paint protectant. This stuff is simply amazing for durability, as it will last up to five YEARS. Dealers charge up to $695 for this stuff! With those extra items, that’s well over $5000 in value! --

-- Nits: A few minor scratches and signs of use from being on the road for twelve years, and the items mentioned above. THAT'S IT. NOTHING ELSE. And if I did not mention those items, it's unlikely anyone would even notice...I just want to be up front and honest. Very nice condition for 117K miles. --

-- I have good feedback, and sold many Audis, Acuras, and Benzes that the new owners are thrilled with. They and others have offered to act as references to verify that I am honest in my descriptions of the cars I sell, and you are welcome to contact them. --

Did the new Audi R8 just get outed on Instagram?

Sat, Feb 7 2015

While we can't confirm it officially, what you're looking at above, according to Instagram user dreboog (Dre Boogie), may indeed be the next Audi R8. We're expecting Audi's revised supercar to get its official debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, which would makes the timing of this leak make sense. You can compare this image with the spy shots we've already seen and draw your own conclusions, but it looks about right to our eyes. There are a few interesting tidbits worth noting, the most immediately obvious being the lack of the so-called side blades that were a polarizing styling element with the first Audi R8 first hit the scene but which have since become part of the coupe's signature look. We also see a front fascia that brings the low-slung coupe more in line with the German brand's current design ethos. Besides those readily apparent cues, there's not much to glean from this Instagram leak. We'd certainly expect more power from Audi's halo car, but just how much more than the 430 horsepower offered by the current V8, 525 hp from the V10 or 550 hp from the V10 Plus, we look forward to finding out. In the meantime, feel free to let us know what you think in the Comments. 2013 Audi S3

Mon, 13 May 2013

Coming Soon To Our Shores With Two More Doors And A Trunk
The Audi S3 is not exactly a sales juggernaut, despite it being a bit of a legend for passionate fans of the small German premium genre. In most markets outside of Europe, people may consider such setups as the S3 three-door tested here, look at the price, and then think maybe they should just get a nice A4 sedan with greater practicality for similar cash. That certainly has been one reason Audi has never officially brought the S3 hatchback to the United States. And the 335-horsepower RS3 Sportback? Forget about it nearly everywhere but in Germanic regions, Switzerland and the UK.
All of which automatically turns the new S3 hatchback into an unattainable object of desire for many fans of the four-ringed brand. The good news, of course, for many markets not on the three-door or S3's dance card is that most of us will get a shot at buying the new S3 sedan that will be powered by the same drivetrain tested here. We reported heavily on the sedan version from the recent New York Auto Show and are convinced that there is much for North American shoppers to like.

Weekly Recap: Car-pedestrian crashes remained elevated in 2014

Sat, Feb 28 2015

The death of American Horror Story: Freak Show star Ben Woolf served as a reminder this week that car crashes involving pedestrians remain a problem, and a new study issued on Thursday reinforced that the situation isn't really getting better. The Governors Highway Safety Association found a slight decline, 2.8 percent, in the number of pedestrian deaths in the first six months of 2014. Fatalities dropped from 2,141 to 2,125 compared with the same period in 2013, though the association says it's a statistical wash when factoring in undercounting. Deaths are still 15-percent higher than in 2009. "The number of deaths remains relatively high and is cause for concern," wrote Allan Williams, who compiled the report and is the former chief scientist at the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. This is the first look at data from last year, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will issue its full-year results later. The GHSA found some progress on the roadways, as 24 states and the District of Columbia reported drops in pedestrian deaths. In some states, the problem isn't even a problem at all: Nebraska and Wyoming reported one fatality apiece, though large population centers in urban areas are where most accidents occur. "This is a clearly a good news, bad news scenario," Jonathan Adkins, GHSA executive director, said in a statement. "While we're encouraged that pedestrian fatalities haven't increased over the past two years, progress has been slow." Other News & Notes Cadillac previews CT6 during Oscars Cadillac previewed its upcoming flagship sedan, the CT6, in commercials that aired Sunday during the Oscars. As expected, the creased sedan carries on Cadillac's recent design language, and the car in the commercial looks like a larger version of the CTS and ATS sedans. The CT6 will be revealed this spring at the New York Auto Show and launch late this year. It will be assembled at General Motors' Detroit-Hamtramck factory on a rear-wheel-drive chassis, and the CT6 is the first car to use Cadillac's revised alpha-numeric naming scheme. The commercials also kicked off Cadillac's "Dare Greatly" campaign, which is the first with its new advertising agency, Publicis Worldwide. Honda unexpectedly changes CEOs Honda unexpectedly announced this week that it will change CEOs. Current chief Takanobu Ito will step down in June and be replaced by company veteran Takahiro Hachigo.
