You are bidding on a beautiful loaded low mileage 2011 S5 Cabriolet with every option, including prestige package, drivers assist package, adaptive cruise control, audi side assist (blind spot warning), audi drive select, comfort package (perforated leather seats with heating/cooling feature, neck level heaters - extends your top down season in spring and fall!), bang and olufsen premium sound system, nav system, keyless entry/start/stop.  This car has been driven only one winter, then garage kept since then in cold weather.  Brand new summer performance tires, with less than 3K miles on them.  Also included is a set of 4 18 inch winter performance tires (driven only one winter) mounted to rims that nearly match the factory rims on the summer tires. (http://www.tirerack.com/images/wheel..._smi_ci3_l.jpg).  In addition to the above, the following modifications have been made:

1. AWE touring exhaust (sounds phenomenal) (see www.awe-tuning.com for videos and sound of exhaust). http://youtu.be/8RdnnumJZG8
2. GIAC ECM tune (comes with manual switch that allows toggle between stock and pump mode to avoid flash getting erased by dealer)
From the AWE website: B8 S4/S5 3.0T FSI G.I.A.C. Software is here. This software calibration offers dramatic improvements over the factory software. Proven rock solid across temperatures, octanes and elevations -- on the street, strip, or track.

Power figures

  • The 93 octane program makes 448hp and 396lb-ft at the crank when coupled with AWE Tuning Exhaust and S-FLO Intake.
  • The 100 octane program dishes out 464hp and 413lb-ft at the crank when coupled with AWE Tuning Exhaust and S-FLO Intake.

AWE Tuning is one of a few select dealers worldwide able to flash your car with this upgrade while you wait , or send in your ECU for bench flashing through the order form . The turnaround is quick, with next day return shipping after receipt.

Additional highlights

  • Available for 6 speed or S-Tronic cars
  • Removed vehicle speed limiter
  • Will not hinder ability to pass emissions testing
  • G.I.A.C. provides free lifetime upgrades to original G.I.A.C. customers
  • Switch maps on the fly with the Handheld Switcher – one button switching

Package includes pump, stock power, and race programs – as well as the Handheld Switcher unit.

3. Supercharger pulley upgrade
LOTS of info, but the bottom line is, with the exhaust, S_FLO intake, GIAC Tune, and supercharger pulley upgrade, this car sounds unbelievable and makes 488 HP at the crank, and 430 TQ at the crank.  It is crazy fun!!!1
4. AWE S-FLO intake
5. Smart top module from mods4cars.com (allows key fob operation of convertible top for open/close, as well as enabling one touch operation up/down with center rocker switch inside car. see www.mods4cars.com for more info and info on customizing. Aslo can be "turned off".)

This car is fantastic, beautiful and fun.  You can have it all with this fast, fun sports convertible that is also a family car with space for two in the back.  Why am I selling it then?  Easy answer.  I've always wanted a V8 sports car, so I am going to get one next.  Test drives/inspections/questions welcome.  Good luck, and happy bidding!!!

Next Audi R8 caught on the 'Ring

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

Now that we're kinda-sorta-maybe-slowly thawing out from this horrible winter, automakers are moving away from the harsh extremes of winter testing and taking their new wares for laps around the infamous Nürburgring. What better way to kick off the sports car testing season than some fresh shots of the next-generation Audi R8 supercar?
Despite the slick coupe's shape not changing too much, details under that camouflage reveal styling elements that are more squared off and angular - similar to what Audi has done with its 2015 TT coupe. Don't be fooled by those square taillamp holes in the camo out back, either - look closely and you'll see a stylish LED lamp design.
Expect some 100 to 200 pounds to be shaved off the next R8's curb weight.

Audi recalling 70k TDI models worldwide over braking problem

Sat, 30 Aug 2014

Audi is issuing a recall covering some 70,000 vehicles worldwide, due to problems with their brake boosters. According to Automotive News Europe, diesel-powered examples of the A4, A5, A6, A7 and Q7 are all being called back due to this issue.
The report indicates that while the brakes in these vehicles still function, the enhancing power from the booster may fail due to a possible leaky membrane.
All of the affected vehicles are powered by the 3.0-liter TDI turbodiesel V6, and were built between March and December of 2012. It is unclear as of this writing how many of these vehicles are in the States, though remember, US customers are not privy to 3.0 TDI examples of the A4 or A5. Autoblog has reached out to Audi for specific numbers, and we'll update this space when we hear more.

Audi R8 LMX has frickin' lasers for headlights

Fri, 09 May 2014

It might look like just another Audi R8, but Ingolstadt tells us this one is different: it is the limited edition Audi R8 LMX (click image above to enlarge) with laser-enhanced LED high-beam headlights. Audi introduced the laserlight technology on its R18 E-tron Quattro LMP1 race car and then promised a production version of it at this year's Consumer Electronics Show. The eyes on the R8 LMX employ the same method when traveling above 37.3 miles per hour, utilizing a tiny laser module in each headlight that, after conversion to white light, can throw a beam about 1,640 feet down the road.
Because no one should ever stop at lasers, buyers of the limited-to-99 examples of the R8 LMX will also get a more powerful engine, with 570 horsepower erupting from the mid-mounted V10; that's ten more horses than came with the R8 V10 GT introduced last year, but the 0-62 mile-per-hour time hasn't budged from 3.4 seconds. It comes in coupe form only, dressed in Ara Blue paint with carbon accents all around, exclusive wheels, red brake calipers, and a black Nappa leather interior with contrasting blue bits.
The order book is open now, and deliveries will begin this summer for those willing to lay down 210,000 euros for the privilege of using one of Superman's powers for good, as standard (the BMW i8 has laser-equipped high beams, but as an option). We won't see them here, though, for as with Matrix Beam lighting and Audi's sequential turn signals, US laws forbid such shenanigans. The press release below has more info.
