2002 Audi S4 Base Sedan 4-door 2.7l on 2040-cars
Jericho, New York, United States
Up for auction is my wife's 2002 Audi S4 AWD 4 door with 92,000 miles. This Audi runs great and the transmission shifts smooth. Turbos spool up nicely. The AC is ice cold. Has heated 6 way leather seats. CD changer in the trunk. Power sun roof. The interior is a 9 out of 10 with no rips or tears. The only flaw is the pixels are bad in the dash board (very commons with these Audi's). The exterior is a 7 out 10. The rear bumper has a few bumps and bruises and front has a small crack. The passenger side rear quarter has some flaws. Other then that, the body is pretty clean. It drives straight and is a lot of fun to drive. The tires have plenty of tread left. I bought this car in 2010 with 48,000 miles and a salvage title. The car was declared salvage due to a high light front hit and a light rear hit. Only the hood, AC condenser, and radiator were replaced with genuine Audi parts. No air bags deployed and no suspension or frame damage. Only the front bumper (needs clear coat) and hood were painted. All other body parts are original. The title states TMU but the miles are accurate. Any time a vehicle is written off and they cant check the miles due to dead batteries ect... they brand them TMU. The car comes with a NY clean but rebuilt title which can be registered in NY and most other states just like any other car. Since the repairs have been complete, my wife has racked up almost 45,000 trouble free miles. Only selling due to the family growing and need some thing a bit bigger. This auction is a "No Reserve Auction" and the car will be sold to the highest bidder. I encourage all bidders to come and inspect this and any used car before bidding. PLEASE don't bid if you DON'T have the money or intentions of completing the transaction. PLEASE contact me first if you have less then 5 positive transactions. |

A magical, disappearing ad for the hydrogen Audi A7 Sportback H-Tron
Thu, Mar 26 2015It's not quite Tupac appearing at Coachella with Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre in hologram form, but it'll do for the gearhead set. Audi is looking to make a first impression for its A7 Sportback H-Tron hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle by making as little of an impression as possible. Like the car itself, Audi has, as it says in a video, "created ads that leave behind nothing but vaporized water." Pretty slick. Audi worked with German advertising agency Thjnk, on the campaign, which uses LED lighting and other bits of magic to first show an image of the sedan and then show it disappearing into a cloud of steam, according to Adweek. The publication posted Audi's 58-second video on the campaign (we've embedded a German version of the video for those looking to practice a bit of linguistics). The German automaker first revealed details about the A7 Sportback H-Tron late last year. The all-wheel-drive sedan can go as far as 31 miles on electricity alone. And the hydrogen fuel-cell drivetrain delivers almost 400 pound-feet of torque and a full (hydrogen) tank's range of 311 miles as well as a 0-62 mile per hour time of less than eight seconds and a top speed of 112 mph. Is the Audi R8 E-Tron project back on again?
Thu, 11 Apr 2013If you ask Audi about its R8 E-Tron prototype, the all-electric two-seater that was first shown at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, the automaker will tell you that its development program is on hold. Yet, as we reported in January, limited production of the combustion-free coupe may be moving forward... information still officially unconfirmed by the automaker.
New images of the electrified R8 undergoing winter testing in Europe have emerged (above and in our gallery), and the car has been spotted running in Spain as well. Both sightings support reports that the E-Tron, with its 150-mile battery range and 8:09 Nürburgring time, may be back in business. Does the program have a green light, or is Audi merely trying to take some of the thunder from the BMW i8?
Whatever the case, if the R8 E-Tron does eventually make it into showrooms - and we are now led to believe it will - expect production volume to be very low. Assuming it doesn't get shelved again, of course.
The Volkswagen Group switches official language to English
Wed, Dec 14 2016The Volkswagen Group can't be fairly thought of as entirely German anymore, so the news that the company is switching its official language to English to help attract managers and executives is a rational, if surprising, decision. While many VW Group companies are still staidly German in character and culture, consider the other companies that it controls: Bentley (British), Bugatti (French), Ducati and Lamborghini (Italian), Skoda (Czech), Scania trucks (Swedish), and SEAT (Spanish). Not to mention the large Volkswagen Group of America operation, which constructs cars in Chattanooga, TN. Volkswagen's explicit motivation is to improve management recruitment – making sure the company isn't losing out on candidates for important positions because they can't speak German – and that's inherently sensible in a globalized economy. Particularly considering, like it or lump it, that English is the lingua franca of said global economy. It also should make it inherently easier to communicate between its world-wide subsidiaries and coordinate operations. It's hard to say for sure if this will have any impact on the consumer, although it's easy to see the benefits if, say, VW Group hires some American product planners or engineers and they push for features and designs that more closely suit American needs. After all, the US is a hugely important market for any manufacturer, and so the switch to English almost certainly has something to do with the outsized influence of the US in the global economy. And there doesn't seem to be a downside from a purely rational perspective, although it could mean that the Group's corporate culture becomes less German. Whether that's a good or a bad thing depends on your perspective.
