***2005.5 Audi S4***black On Black ***not Running*** on 2040-cars
North Hollywood, California, United States
Attention mechanics, Audi lovers, dreamers, grease monkeys, artisans, miscreants!
Selling my BEAUTIFUL (NOT RUNNING) 2005.5 Audi S4. I would prefer NOT TO but have a couple things standing in my way: 1.) It needs work and I don't have the time to do it. 2.) Wife says no "project" cars for daddy. Initially, I'd purchased this car from Windy City Motorsports in Lombard, IL. Their ad said there might be a timing chain/tensioner issue. I brought it out West, had a go and my super-mechanic buddy found that a timing chain had given out and that I was looking at a bent valve I think. So we could either wrench on it OR swap if for a $4k to $5k engine. Which is fine by me, it's an awesome (originally almost $50k), car that I'd be HAPPY to work on and get back on the road. My wife, however, differs with me on this point. Also, I was JUST offered a new job that will have me away from home more often. Soooo.... Here it is: *Ext / Int Color Brilliant Black with Ebony Full Leather Interior *Luxury Features Air Conditioning Climate Control System Dual Zone Electronic Climate Control System Telescoping Steering Wheel Homelink System Steering Wheel Radio Controls Digital Information Center Cruise Control Moon roof Sunroof Tilt Steering Wheel Clock Tachometer Heated Seat Tinted Windows *Power Equipment Power Steering Power Windows Power Locks Power Mirrors Power Driver's Seat Power Passenger Seat Memory Seat Position *Safety Features Security System Key-less Entry Anti-Lock Brakes Traction Control System Driver's Air Bag Passenger Air Bag Side Air Bags Fog Lights Intermittent Wipers Dynamic Stability Control All-Wheel Drive Rear Defogger *Interior Wood Trim Leather Steering Wheel Leather Gear Shifter Audio / Video Bose System AM/FM CD Player CD Changer MP3 Navigation System Premium Sound Satellite Radio Separate Tweeters *Additional Features 12v Power Outlet Adaptive headlights Body Side Moldings Center Arm Rest Center Console Child Proof Door Locks Chrome Exhaust Tips Compass And Temperature Display Cup Holders Daytime Running Lights Front Heated Seats Head-Protection System Heated Mirrors HID Headlamps Luxury Seats Premium Alloy Wheels Rear Fog Lamps Remote Trunk Lid Front AND Rear RECARO Sport Seats Vanity Mirrors Xenon ***Copy and paste this link for original Windy City Motorsports ad and 70+ pictures: (EBAY won't allow a link here: you can check out the original ad at the "Windy City Motorsports" - in Lombard, IL- website...SORRY!) The car is beautiful. It got dusty in transit. I've washed, parked and covered it. I have some video of the car when it first arrived and some pix too. I'll try to figure out how to transfer the pix from my video camera to the computer but for now I have the pix you see here. ALSO There are a few scratches on those pretty black wheels (made by shipper). Not too bad and it's Plasti Dip which can be easily covered or peeled and re-applied, a SUPER easy fix. I'll work on getting some pix up. The front, right tire was flat, I replaced it with a new one. I THINK that's everything. A lovely 05.5 Audi S4 in need of some TLC from the right person. Email Christo anytime... Cheers! ***MAKE AN OFFER!*** The worst thing that can happen is I say no. ***MAKE AN OFFER!*** ***P.S.*** As a footnote to those who are unfamiliar. THEY ALL BREAK. No matter how well a person claims to have maintained their AUDI, they ALL have timing chain and timing belt issues. The best thing to look for when purchasing a used Audi (if you don't want to be working on it yourself), is to find someone who's had the timing belts OR chains changed/examined/maintained approximately every 80k miles. Tensioners, Ternsioner Guides...all need to be INTENTIONALLY managed in order for an Audi (engine), to have a long, happy life. Otherwise, you buy the car, it's running, then, BLAMO...it stops and you've just bought yourself an EXPENSIVE fixer (which was probably not your intension). This one here...an IN-expensive fixer ready for the right home. ***All offers considered. GOOD LUCK & HAPPY HUNTING! |

Audi Q3 recalled for wanting to stay dry
Thu, Apr 23 2015Volkswagen of America has announced a recall of the 2015 Audi Q3 because in one instance the car might not stop what it's doing even when you turn it off. If you shut down the car while the sunroof is closing, the sunroof could keep on closing. That possibility contravenes federal standards concerning roof panel systems and affects up to 3,646 examples of the Q3 manufactured between April 4, 2014 and November 5, 2014. Customers are asked to bring their Q3s to their Audi dealers, where the sunroof control module will be updated free of charge. You'll find a bit more information in the bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below. (Volkswagen) is recalling certain model year 2015 Audi Q3 vehicles manufactured April 4, 2014, to November 5, 2014. If the vehicle is turned off while the sunroof is closing, the sunroof may continue to close instead of stopping. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 118, "Power-Operated Window, Partition, and Roof Panel Systems."CONSEQUENCE: If the sunroof is closing while the vehicle is shut off and a vehicle occupant is in its path, there is an increased risk of injury.REMEDY: Audi will notify owners, and dealers will update the sunroof control module software, free of charge. Leaked design sketch may preview Audi TT Sportback Concept for Paris
Wed, 24 Sep 2014With the debut of the new TT and TTS hardtops in Geneva earlier this year, as well as the more recent debut of the convertible model, Audi has ticked the same body style boxes as the first two generations of TT. Unlike those earlier examples, though, the German luxury manufacturer has provided a slow and steady parade of concepts showing off possible directions for the TT.
First, we had the Allroad Shooting Brake Concept from the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. Then, in April, we saw the Offroad Concept, whose biggest differentiation from the Detroit concept was its extra pair of doors, making it appear, at least superficially, quite similar to one of Audi's Sportback models. This clear evolution from shooting brake to neo-Sportback might not have meant much, had the image you see above not leaked.
This is, allegedly, the third member of the larger TT-based concept family, and - surprise, surprise - it has massaged the profile of the Offroad Concept into something that, to our eyes, appears far more grounded in reality. It looks like a natural fit into Audi's line of four-door-coupe models, which are more fleshed out in Europe, thanks to the presence of the A5/S5 Sportback. Slotting in a TT-based model could represent a coup for Audi, as such a small four-door with such obvious sports car roots would be mostly unchallenged.
Audi considering turbo option for longer, wider Hurac?n-based R8
Mon, 10 Mar 2014The debut of the Lamborghini Huracán was (and remains) big news in and of itself, but equally as exciting is the imminent arrival of the Audi R8, which the Huracán presages. While the two will share a common architecture, don't expect that new R8 will simply be a cheaper version of the Huracán (like the current one arguably is to the Gallardo).
For one, the next R8 will be larger than the Huracán. According to emerging intelligence, Audi will make its sports car both longer and wider than the Lamborghini version. It'll also share the new Lambo's innovative carbon-fiber structure that will replace both the firewall and central tunnel. But to power it all, Audi will get more creative.
The next R8 will, like the current model and like the Huracán, offer a V10 engine at the top of the range. It will also offer the same 4.2-liter V8 as the outgoing model. But that won't be the end of the matter. Word has it that Audi is also working on a smaller, turbocharged engine to offer in certain markets that mandate smaller-capacity engines.
