2003 Audi Rs6, 450 Hp Twin Turbo V8, Excellent Condition, No Reserve on 2040-cars
West Palm Beach, Florida, United States
Thank you for your interest in my beautiful and well-maintained Audi RS6. I've owned the car for about nine years and have all service records from then to now. It's now for sale with NO RESERVE. Year-round, this RS6 is a great performer - comfortable, smooth, fast, good handling, great braking - and in the winter, with snow tires, it's virtually unstoppable. I'm selling it because I recently relocated from New Jersey to Denver, Colorado and now want something I can take off-road. Mechanically, the car is in top condition and has no issues at all. Very recently - under 100 miles ago - the car received its scheduled major service, including a full tune up including and oil change and replacement of the oil filter, air filter, pollen filter, fuel filter and all spark plugs. At the same time, the timing belt was replaced (along with associated rollers and tensioners) as was the ribbed belt, the water pump and the thermostat. Nothing more will be needed for quite a while. As for notable repairs in the past, the car's transmission was replaced under warranty at 70,000 miles. And, a few years later, the Dynamic Ride Control System, which was prone to leakage, was subject to a manufacturer recall. The dealership flushed, sealed and refilled the system and now works as it should. The car has never been in an accident although some time ago a deer ran full tilt into the right front of the car, wiping out the fender and the passenger side mirror. Original Audi parts were used in the repair and it is undetectable. Cosmetically, the car is excellent. The Avus Silver exterior has only some minor paint chips on the front bumper that have been touched up. The leather interior - featuring Recaro seats - also is in very good condition with no odors, stains or tears (although the mesh storage pouch behind the driver's seat has a tear in it). The 255/40 Continental tires are in very good shape with low miles. The 18" wheels recently were refinished and are in excellent condition except for the left front which has light curb rash. This rare and beautiful high-performance sedan will not disappoint you. The car can be picked up in Denver. If you need it shipped, I will do my best to cooperate with the arrangements you make. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or if you need more pictures. |

GM, Audi, Jaguar halt Russian sales amidst ruble's collapse
Fri, Dec 19 2014The value of Russia's ruble currency has sunk like a stone tossed in the Volga for much of the year, losing over 40 percent of its worth since June. The change is having bizarre effects on the auto industry there and leaving some automakers scrambling to adjust. According to Bloomberg, Russians are buying up luxury goods including automobiles at the moment to have a physical investment in case the ruble sinks further. However, with the money worth so little, the companies aren't making much from these transactions. Things are so dire that several automakers are temporarily ending deliveries until the situation stabilizes. According to Bloomberg, General Motors stopped sales on December 16 with no set date to start again. Audi did the same thing but with the intention to resume once it has adjusted model pricing. Jaguar Land Rover terminated business until December 19 to see how things changed. Toyota is increasing its pricing, as well, but keeping business open at the same time. Some automakers have subtly been reacting to the slumping Russian auto market all year. The moves have included Volkswagen cutting production by 30,000 units from its factory in Kaluga. Ford also got rid of 950 workers from two plants due to low demand. Some analysts have even speculated that the contracting industry and possibility of lower import duties into the country could cause companies to end their manufacturing in Russia completely.
Mazda3 versus BMW 1 Series and Audi A3 in Euro diesel showdown
Sun, Dec 21 2014It's not exactly a Tesla Model S taking on a Ferrari, but for us green enthusiasts, a drag race and comparison between reasonably priced diesel hatchbacks does hold interest, and UK's Auto Express was kind enough to do the deed. When raced, the diesels actually laid a little rubber coming off the line, though the track was covered in rain. Did we mention it was in the UK? The comparison was between diesel hatchbacks priced at less than 22,000 British pounds (about $34,500 US), and Auto Express pitted a Mazda3, a BMW 1-Series and an Audi A3 against each other. The results are revealed in the 11-minute video you can watch below. In short, one car smoked the others. In order to set the tone, you should know that the Mazda's 150 horsepower is about 35 more than the other two entrants. The Mazda also earned points for its quiet motor (it sounds more like a petrol engine, the host says), standard equipment that would add about $4,000 to the other two cars if included and relative roominess in front and in back. The Audi gained points for its storage space, while the BMW had the only rear-wheel-drive car in the hunt. See for yourself how the competition stacks up. German prosecutors have recorded calls between VW bigwigs talking dieselgate
Thu, Mar 21 2019It's barely possible to believe how poorly Volkswagen continues to handle dieselgate. Depending on which day you catch the news, the German carmaker embodies the corporate venality of "Michael Clayton," the comic blundering of the Coen Brothers' "Burn After Reading," and the every-man-for-himself vengeance of "Reservoir Dogs." Today is Tarantino day, with news that German prosecutors have recordings of phone calls between former Audi and Porsche development boss Wolfgang Hatz, ex-Volkswagen Group executive Matthias Muller, and current Porsche executives Oliver Blume and Michael Steiner. Hatz made the calls to the trio in November 2015, two months after Volkswagen admitted its diesel-particulate sins to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Hatz was still employed at the time, and in his company car. Who recorded the calls? His wife. Hatz and his missus apparently saw the storm coming and started stacking defenses early. Hatz's wife, who can be heard encouraging Hatz during at least one call, sent the recordings to Hatz's attorney from her mobile phone. According to a Google translation of the German newspaper Handelsblatt's report, she included the note, "Here is a very long, but quite informative conversation on the current situation with useful formulations." The report in Handelsblatt said that in Germany it is generally "not allowed" to record a conversation and pass it on to a third party. We don't know how the authorities will handle this matter, since prosecutors found the recordings in e-mail attachments on Mrs. Hatz's mobile phone. Remember, when the diesel scandal broke, VW spent months saying that only a small number of low-level personnel were behind it, and all of the higher-ups had been blindsided. Ex-CEO Martin Winterkorn claimed to be "stunned that misconduct on such a scale was possible in the Volkswagen Group." Winterkorn successor Matthias Muller said, "according to current information, a few developers interfered in the engine management." Former VW USA honcho Michael Horn told a congressional committee that "a couple of software engineers" programmed the software for reasons no one could understand. In the recorded conversations, Hatz apparently called Muller to find out how VW planned to treat him.
