This German beauty is ready for a new owner!  Immaculate condition inside and out.  Mechanically flawless!

Daytona Grey Pearl Effect over Black Leather (Nonsmoker)

This car is mechanically sound and stock.  The 4.2L V8 is a 6-speed AWD.  Clean Title, Title in Hand.

Extras:  Tinted Glass,  Smoked Taillights, Xenon Fog lights, Full Set of "Like New" Blizzak Winter Tires, Sport Steering Wheel (Racing Inspired, has the "S" button right on the steering wheel)

CONSIDER THIS!!!  We have just completed many big ticket maintenance items.  If you are considering RS4s with similar mileage, it is worth knowing if these items have been completed on the vehicle.  If not, it is very likely that they will need to be completed after you purchase the vehicle.  Especially noteworthy is if the vehicle has had the carbon cleaned out of the Intake Manifold or replaced all 8 Injectors.  Any RS4 with around 55k miles is extremely likely to need this done on it.  This car has all that professionally completed in less then 1000 miles ago!

Maintenance completed:
  - All 8 Injectors Replaced at 59k miles ($3600)
  - Intake Manifold cleaned of carbon buildup at 59k miles ($1000)
  - Intake Valves Cleaned at 59k miles ($200)
  - Spark Plugs and Coils Replaced at 59k miles ($200)
  - Front Rotors and Pads Replaced at 55k miles ($1000)

Total for all repairs recently completed $6,000.

The TPMS light is on in the dash.  We had this checked and there is nothing actually wrong with any of the tires.  No tires leak and all the sensors are fully charged.  Basically Discount Tire said that there likely is a short in the Reset button that does not allow you to turn the light off.

Only reason we are selling the car is because we are in need of an SUV.  Feel free to email me with any questions or interest in any more photos.

Audi design chief Egger leaving for Italdesign Giugiaro

Thu, 05 Dec 2013

Wolfgang Egger, Audi's chief designer, is leaving the company according to a Automotive News Europe, which cites a report from Germany's Automobilwoche. Egger won't be going far, though, remaining within the Volkswagen family and taking up head design position Italdesign Giugiaro, a VW subsidiary as of 2010.
Egger took over the position at Audi from Walter de Silva, and has been responsible most recently for the Audi A6 and A3, as well as the 2010 Quattro Concept and the E-Tron Concept. He previously was head of design at Lancia and then at Alfa Romeo, where he was responsible for the achingly gorgeous 8C Competizione.
If Egger does move to Italdesign, his successor is likely to be Marc Lichte, the Volkswagen designer behind the current Golf. Of course, these personnel changes haven't been officially confirmed, and Audi is thus far refusing to comment on either Egger or Lichte's possible career shifts. We'll stay with this one, so sit tight.

Audi promises next A8 on sale by year's end, LED Matrix lamps to be available [w/video]

Sun, 30 Jun 2013

Audi has just released details about its new Matrix LED headlamps, but just as illuminating as the new lighting technology is confirmation that the next A8 will appear "on the market at the end of 2013." While Audi is calling the model new, expectations - and the spy shots above - suggest more of a traditional mid-cycle refresh.
Audi says that its new A8 Matrix lights are comprised of 25 high-beam LEDs, clustered in groups of five paired with reflectors. Unlike traditional automatic high-beam setups, the Matrix array is so precise that it "blanks out light that would shine directly onto oncoming and preceding vehicles" while continuing to use full high-beam power on other sections of the road and shoulder not occupied by other vehicles. Further, the camera- and electronic brain-governed system can dim or extinguish LEDs as necessary to deal with traffic. The active system also differs from today's adaptive headlamps by not requiring servo motors to direct light, yet they can still function as cornering headlamps - ones that can predict a road's trajectory because they are linked with the car's GPS system. Interestingly, the system also works with Audi's optional night vision system. When the latter detects a pedestrian in the dark, it automatically flashes a batch of LEDs to put both the driver and pedestrian on notice about each others' presence.
Only one problem in all of this trick lighting business: they aren't legal here in the US, at least not yet. Audi and other automakers are currently petitioning the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, trying to sell the government agency on the technology's safety benefits. For the moment, Matrix headlamps are likely to remain forbidden fruit, but you can check them out and see what you might be missing in the video below. As for the 2015 A8, we're guessing it'll surface at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Audi, Toyota land on MIT's list of 50 Most Disruptive Companies

Sat, 23 Feb 2013

MIT Technology Review, a magazine all about innovation, has announced its list of the 50 most disruptive companies in 2013, and both Audi and Toyota made the cut. While the term "most disruptive" may carry a negative connotation in most uses (especially in the classroom), the acknowledgement in this case is an accolade, signifying that the company is at the forefront of its industry. In a nutshell, a disruptive company is a business whose innovations force other businesses to alter their strategic direction.
Audi made the list for "pushing autonomous cars closer to fruition with a laser-scanning road detector that fits in a vehicle's front grille," and Toyota for "expanding its dominance of the hybrid-car market with its new plug-in version of the Prius." Click on the image above to be taken to the original graphic at MIT Technology Review, where clickable colored squares reveal information about each of the 50 winners, compiled from a variety of industries.
