Here's my beautiful R8, car has been great in every way (except radio reception, now fixed), time for a new owner. I'm the 3rd owner, I bought it from Porsche of Buffalo NY with 13,338 miles on Dec 2011. In my time I did the 25K service (2012), new tires, 2013 oil change, and fixed the radio reception. I have all records from my ownership. I don't have records from previous owners, but AudiCare said all prior services had been completed. Flaws - all I can find is a sort of "ripple" on the drivers seat leather and a little scuffing under the front spoiler. Pics to the best of my ability, otherwise normal minimal wear for a 21K mile car but nothing more I can photograph. No accidents, no track use, no paint work, excellent throughout. Audi details updated 3.0L V6 TDI engine
Fri, 09 May 2014The brands in the Volkswagen Group have shown that they can develop some of the world's best diesel engines for passenger cars. At the Vienna Motor Symposium taking place May 8 and 9, Audi has an updated one to add to its lineup. It's launching a new version of the 3.0 TDI V6 with better efficiency and more power than the version currently in the US.
The new diesel will be offered in two tunes: 215 horsepower or 268 hp. However, Audi isn't giving away all of the new engine's secrets just yet. It says "depending on model" the mill makes as much as 442.5 pound-feet of torque and gets as much as 13 percent better fuel economy. That likely means the more powerful version gets the twist, and the other one has the better consumption, but we'll have to see.
To compare, the current 3.0 TDI offered in the US produces 240 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque. In the A6, it's rated at 24 miles per gallon city, 38 mpg highway and 29 mpg combined, according to the EPA.
Audi working on new Quattro-centric horizontal design language
Wed, 22 Jan 2014If we were to opine that Audi needed a new design language, we certainly wouldn't be the first. Because while most of the vehicles wearing the Four Rings these days look slick enough, they all tend to look rather similar, and perhaps lack a certain amount of character. If the latest rumors are to be believed, Audi is working on just such a design overhaul.
The new design language being developed in the studios at Ingolstadt is said to differ from the current theme in two ways. For one, it's set to be dominated by a more horizontal approach, eschewing the tall vertical grille that dominates the noses of many of Audi's current models in favor of one that stretches more widely across the fascia.
For another, Edmunds projects that the new design language will emphasize the four-wheel-drive setup that has become Audi's hallmark. We understand that to mean more muscular wheel arches, with the rest of the design revolving around that element for an overall look that's more visually planted on the road. We'll have to wait to see how this theme develops, but the rumors at least indicate that Audi is aware of its design issues and is working to address it.
