For sale by meticulous owner. This Q7 is impossible to appreciate in these pictures. Loaded with nearly all of the factory options. Original MSRP = $69,475Nearly flawless exterior and interior...no dings and a few very minor blemishes that would only be noticeable upon detailed examination by a very critical eye. All 4 Michelin Latitude Sport tires have 5,000 miles on them.2 curbside wheels just refinished at Audi dealership on Friday (10/14) to bring them to as new condition. The other two wheels are in great shape and I would rate a 9 out of 10 or better. Extremely well cared for and appreciated vehicle- I love to wash and wax it regularly myself and has been garage kept most of the time. This Q7 has spent its entire life in Los Angeles- has never seen snow and has hardly been exposed to rain. Religious maintenance performed on an accelerated schedule at Audi Dealer. 2010-2015 models are almost indistinguishable from each other. No issues. Needs nothing. I am happy to send any additional pictures or videos upon request or answer any questions over the phone. I have bought or sold a 4 different vehicles on eBay over the last 13 years and enjoy the process of selling private-party much more than trading-in to the dealer. I am selling it with no reserve because I am confident the market will bear an appropriate price for this outstanding vehicle. Purchased as the second owner 7/13 as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle from the Audi dealership. Low mileage per year vehicle- had 23.9K miles when I purchased it and now has 55.6K miles. Original owner purchased the pre-paid maintenance plan up to 50K miles (transferrable to me) and being under extended certified pre-owned warranty from Audi, there has never been any hesitation to have any scheduled or unscheduled maintenance and repairs performed. Orca Black Metallic Exterior (looks amazing in the sun) Black interior (Luxury Package upgrade includes Cricket leather seats and Alcantara headliner) 6-speed auto tiptronic transmission (with paddle shifters) 3.0 liter V6 Turbo Diesel engine - 225 HP and 406 ft. lbs. of torque. Super fun to drive with a massive amount of torque yet easily achieves MPGs in the mid to high 20s on highway drives. The drivetrain is smooth as can be and feels bulletproof as if it will run for many more miles than it currently has. Im sure most everyone has heard about the diesel scandal that Volkswagen is facing, but the 3.0L vehicles such as this have a completely different system for emissions reduction (urea) than the 2.0L vehicles and doubt still remains whether there is really an issue with the 3.0L vehicles. Nonetheless, from what I have read, Volkswagen has submitted their proposed resolution for the 3.0 liters to the EPA for approval which is a software update and is a completely different situation than the more complex hardware fixes that will most likely be required for the 2.0L cars. My personal experience thus far leads me to believe that Audi will continue to take extraordinary measures to create goodwill with owners as this carries out because the future of its brand is at stake with how they navigate this. The skinny on Delphi's autonomous road trip across the United States [w/videos]

Wed, Apr 8 2015

Rolling out of an S-shaped curve along Interstate 95, just past Philadelphia International Airport, the final obstacle between the autonomous car and its place in history appeared on the horizon. So far, the ordinary-looking SUV had traversed the United States without incident. It had gone through tunnels and under overpasses. It circled roundabouts and stopped for traffic lights. Now, on the last day of a scheduled nine-day journey, it was poised to become the first autonomous car ever to complete a coast-to-coast road trip. First, it needed to contend with the Girard Point Bridge. Riding in a rear seat, "I saw that bridge coming, and I thought, 'Oh my gosh, this is going to be a grab-the-wheel moment," said Kathy Winter, vice president of software at Delphi Automotive. The car, an unassuming Audi SQ5 nicknamed Roadrunner, had been well-tested. Back in January, a few inebriated pedestrians fell flat in front of the car during a demonstration in Las Vegas. It was the quintessential worst-case scenario, and the car admirably hit the brakes. More than drunken louts, bridges present a sophisticated challenge for the six radar sensors that feed data to the car's internal processors. Instead of sensing solid objects, radar sensors can read the alternating bursts of steel beams and empty space as conflicting information. "They're a radar engineer's worst nightmare," said Jeff Owens, Delphi's chief technology officer. Girard Point Bridge, a blue skeleton of girded steel that spans the Schuylkill River, might be a bigger challenge than most. Traveling across the lower level of its double decks, the autonomous car's radar sensors had to discern between two full sets of trusses. Cross the Schuylkill, and Delphi's engineers felt confident they'd reach their destination: the New York Auto Show. For now, the sternest test of the trip lay directly in front of them. A Data-Mining Adventure Until that point, the toughest part of the journey had been finding an open gas station in El Paso, TX. Trust in the technology had already been established. The main reason Delphi set out on the cross-country venture with a team of six certified drivers and two support vehicles was to capture reams of data. What better way to do that than dusting off the classic American road trip and dragging it into the 21st century? They did exactly that, capturing three terabytes worth of data across 3,400 miles and 15 states.

2016 Audi RS7 Performance is an LA beauty in blue

Fri, Nov 20 2015

The whole point of the new 2016 Audi RS7 Performance is directly in its name, and the Four Rings now claims 605 horsepower from its 4.0-liter twin turbo V8. For those keeping track of big-brother bragging rights, Audi claims 560 hp from the standard RS7. Plus, the engine's torque can jump from 516 pound-feet to 553 lb-ft during the temporary overboost function. An eight-speed automatic gearbox still sends power to the front and rear through the Quattro all-wheel drive system. The results of all these upgrades are a sprint to 60 miles per hour in 3.6 seconds and a top speed of 190 mph. The RS7 Performance is about more than just power; Audi also fits carbon ceramic brakes and an RS Sport Suspension with Dynamic Ride Control. The exterior also sees some minor tweaks that include a restyled rear diffuser, new 21-inch wheels, black tailpipes, and a gloss black grille. RS sport seats come standard inside. The RS7 Performance arrives at Audi dealers in December and prices start at $129,925 (after $925 for destination). Get a good look at this very quick, fastback sedan in the gallery above. Their 4.0 TFSI engine with 445 kW (605 hp) and up to 750 Nm (553.2 lb ft) of torque push acceleration (3.7 seconds) nearly to levels usually reserved for supercars. Fuel consumption remains unchanged at 9.6 and 9.5 liters per 100 kilometers (24.5 and 24.8 US mpg), respectively, corresponding to 223 and 221 g CO2 per km (358.9 and 355.7 g/mi). These are best-in-segment figures. The new Audi RS 6 Avant performance and the new Audi RS 7 Sportback performance offer more power output than ever before. The 4.0 TFSI now produces 445 kW (605 hp) and maximum torque of 700 Nm (516.3 lb-ft). A particular highlight of the engine is an overboost function allowing the driver to temporarily draw on up to 750 Nm (553.2 lb-ft).

Recharge Wrap-up: New and old Audis get greener, as does US electricity

Thu, Aug 21 2014

Audi has made environmental improvements to the its TT while boosting performance. The new TT sees an 11-percent reduction in emissions, and up to 14 percent more power. Audi says that each TT will save around 5.5 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions over its lifecycle. Additionally, the TT's manufacturing process has been cleaned up a bit, reducing emissions by about nine percent. Read more in the press release, below, or see Audi's lifecycle assessment here. Speaking of greening up Audis, Al Swackhammer of Washington converted his 1960 Audi DKW 1000S to run on electric power. Swackhammer first fell in love with the Audi Ur-Quattro, became an enthusiast of Audi and Volkswagen cars, and has owned nothing else ever since. With his DKW, he combined his passion for the classic car with his responsibility to the environment. "I am pleased that I did this project," says the happy owner, "and I enjoy driving it very dearly." Meet the man and his beloved electric Audi DKW in the video below. Toyota has chosen a sustainable design firm, Corgan, as the lead architect for its new North American headquarters. The new campus will be built in Plano, TX, and will be the workplace of about 4,000 Toyota employees. Corgan, who has already done 47 LEED certified projects, is already designing a temporary office for the site while it finishes the project. Toyota expects to begin working from the site in late 2016 or early 2017. Learn more in the press release below. In July, all new electrical generating capacity in the US came from renewable sources. The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's Office of Energy Projects' newest "Energy Infrastructure Update" report says new electric generation put into service last month came from wind (379 megawatts), solar (21 megawatts) and hydro (5 megawatts). So far this year, 53 percent of new energy generation capacity has come from various renewable sources, and none from coal or nuclear. Currently, renewable energy accounts for 16.3 percent of the US electric generation capacity, providing about 14 percent of actual electricity.
