2004 Audi Allroad Quattro Wagon 2.7l Twin Turbo-loaded on 2040-cars
Mansfield, Pennsylvania, United States
Up for auction is my 2004 Audi Allroad 2.7 Twin Turbo Wagon with just over 95K miles. This is only my second Audi as we usually drive Saabs, but I've decided to convert to being an Audiphile after owning this one. I picked this one up at Audi Chantilly in Virginia a few months back. I absolutely love the car, but I have a chance to pick up another, bigger V8 Audi and this one has to go. The car is in excellent condition and has just been serviced. I was advised that the previous owner had the timing belt and water pump serviced prior to trading it in. I haven't experienced any dash lights and have had nothing but great luck with this little rocket. I run Mobil 1 synthetic in the engine and run Bosch filters. The engine is a twin turbocharged (biturbo) V-6 backed up by a 5 speed automatic transmission with tiptronic and sport modes. I can't get over the way this thing puts down power...it's a good sized car and with the Quattro it will out pull both of my Saabs. The suspension is comprised of four Continental air bags (one at each corner) and is adjustable for height and is adaptive depending on speed. You can actually raise the car a number of inches by just by activating the air suspension. The only options missing are the paddle shifters on the steering wheel and the navigation system. I just replaced the rotors all the way around with slotted ABT rotors in the front and slotted and cross drilled units in the rear. The brake pads were replaced the pads with Raybestos units all the way around. The interior has the cold weather package which includes the heated steering wheel and heated seats (front and rear) The rear has parking sensors as well. The dual climate control works perfectly and in the warmer moths the integrated sunshades in the doors and rear hatch are a life saver. The leather interior is immaculate, but a couple of the knobs and dials have some of the rubberized coating missing from use. All options work well and the car flat our flies! The tires are Toyo luxury touring tires and have just been balanced and rotated and have around 8/32 each. An integrated pet divider is included as are both factory keys, the OEM tool kit, compact inflatable/full size spare, and first aid kit. . The HID headlights are extremely bright and adjust for height with the air suspension. The Audi Concert audio system is absolutely ridiculous and has XM radio that has a paid subscription as well a six disk, in dash cd changer. I can't emphasize enough how the factory audio system sounds. Everywhere you look there's a Bose speaker, amplifier, or subwoofer!. The windshield was also replaced about a month ago as it had a pretty bad chip that was turning into a crack. The only defects I've found are one door ding that I can't seem to find after washing the car and a couple of light stone chips, but the car is absolutely stunning in person. I actually use the adjustable air suspension quite a bit and it functions perfectly. The slotted rotors took a while to get used to, but really, really make a difference when driving in a "spirited" fashion. The car is just a well cared for Allroad with decent mileage. If you have any questions, please drop me a line. I apologize for the blur in the pics....it's my terrible camera.

Audi R8 lines up as safety car for Rolex 24 at Daytona
Sat, 25 Jan 2014This weekend a new era begins in American sports car racing with the Rolex 24 at Daytona to kick off the new United SportsCar Championship, the freshly inked union between the Grand Am and American Le Mans Series. There'll be a wide variety of machinery lining up on the grid at the Florida speedway, including race-ready versions of the sports cars you can drive on the road, plus Daytona Prototypes, Le Mans Prototypes and even the DeltaWing. But at the front of the pack will be the Audi R8 5.2 FSI.
That's because Ingolstadt's flagship has been named as the official safety car for this, the 52nd annual Rolex 24 at Daytona. And so the R8 becomes the first pace car pressed into service for the United SportsCar Championship, although the model also paced last year's race (pictured above) when it was under the auspices of the Grand Am series.
The car in question appears to bear little in the way of modifications over the showroom version, save for some requisite graphics and maybe some emergency lighting to make it more visible - because while you wouldn't miss an R8 slicing its way through ordinary traffic on the road, it's another story entirely in a field full of competition machinery. Audi points out that the road-going R8 shares a good 50 percent of its components with the R8 LMS competing in the race, including its 5.2-liter V10 engine that's available this year with a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Audi Prologue Avant Concept points to the future of wagon design in Geneva [w/video]
Wed, Mar 4 2015The new generation Audi R8 and its LMS GT3 racing version are grabbing much of the attention at the Audi stand at the Geneva Motor Show. However, if you are more interested in seeing the brand's future design direction, just take a look at the Prologue Avant Concept that's also on display. Audi traditionally uses the Avant name for the company's wagons, but that's tweaked slightly here. The vehicle is certainly a five-door, but from some angles it looks more akin to a Porsche Panamera-like hatchback. Compared to the B-pillarless Prologue Coupe (that we recently drove), the stretched roof flows all the way to the angled rear hatch, and the result is a very elegant design. The interior tends towards minimalism with just a few screens showing the driving info. The Prologue Avant also ditches the Coupe's petrol-fueled hybrid for a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo diesel V6 plug-in hybrid with a total of 455 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque, which is linked to an eight-speed gearbox. Audi claims the setup reaches 62 miles per hour in 5.1 seconds and allows for 33 miles of pure electric driving. To get a sneak peek at what's next from Audi, take a look at the Prologue Avant Concept on the floor of the Geneva show in the gallery above.
Audi rumored to ditch Le Mans, DTM for F1
Sun, 26 Oct 2014If you've been scratching your head wondering how - between Audi and Porsche - the Volkswagen Group could possibly support two rival top-tier LMP1 programs at Le Mans and the FIA World Endurance Championship, but stay out of Formula One entirely, you're not alone. In fact, Porsche was said to have been eying an F1 entry if Audi had internally blocked aspirations to return to Le Mans. But according to the latest rumors, it's Audi that's now preparing to shift away from endurance racing and onto the grand prix circuit.
Word has it that, following internal pressures from within the VW Group, Audi is finally gearing up for a full assault on F1. It's said to be developing a new six-cylinder turbo hybrid power unit - potentially at its new racing headquarters in Neuburg - and, in an expanded partnership with Red Bull, either take Renault's and Infiniti's places with the Red Bull Racing team or take over the Toro Rosso team entirely.
Although Ingolstadt has not campaigned in grand prix racing since the pre-war days of the Silver Arrows, it was said to have been the impetus for the FIA's push a couple of years ago for new four-cylinder engine regulations until Audi bailed on the idea altogether and F1 went for six-cylinder engines instead.
