I am selling my beloved Audi Allroad.  I love this car.  I live in Mammoth Lakes, CA.  This has been my "snow car" for 6 years now.  I purchased it in 2007.  After doing much research, I watched a video from Germany, where all the manufacturers raced their vehicles up a steep ski run.  The Allroad was the only vehicle to make it to the top.  I was sold on it.  It hasn't disappointed.

I got a great deal on a Subaru Outback last July, and haven't been driving the Allroad much lately.  I also have a truck.  We simply don't need 3 vehicles, and I'm sick of paying the insurance and registration, so the Audi must go.

Condition:  Trying to be objective, I think this car is in pretty good shape for a 10-year old car with 90k miles on it.  I've always changed the oil every 3k miles and done the routine maintenance.  I stick the maintenance records in the glove box.  Might need a new air filter soon.  I might have a spare one lying around.  If I do, I'll throw it in.  I also have two sets of floor mats (all-weather and regular).  I'll include both.  Again, it has been in a snow town, so there are scratches and normal wear and tear all over.  The pics show a dirty car, as it just snowed.  A couple years ago, a snow removal vehicle hit my rear driver side door.  It was replaced under insurance and has worked perfectly ever since.  My wife was rear-ended at a red light by a drunk driver.  We didn't fix it, as it didn't effect the integrity of the car.  The car is a tank (you should see the damage to the drunk driver's car).  Anyway, the damage is clear in the photos.  Other than that, the leather is in good shape.  The wood trim is in good shape.  Some peeling has occured on the radio portion of the dashboard, and the veneer on the dash-mounted cup holder came off.  There is a very minor oil leak, that we've had since we purchased the car.  The Audi dealer says it's very normal in turbo-charged cars, at the seals.  I've never had to add oil or anything.  Never been an issue.  Just wanted to mention it, because oil is noticeable on the skid plate when it's removed to change the oil.  There is some grime/film over the headlights, but the auto-levelling xenon lights still work great.  CD changer works great, Bose stereo is awesome.  Heated seats are magical.  Car has a lot of power.  Twin Turbo kicks ass.  The snow tires on the car right now still have a decent amount of tread left.  The brakes are great, tons of stopping power.  I have two keys for the car.  The remote lock/unlock feature isn't working on the keys.  The batteries died and need to be replaced.  They might need to be re-programmed (there's some specific instructions on how to do it on the web or at the dealer) - I just put the key in the door to lock/unlock old school style.

Only problems we've ever had have been electrical.  Our local german mechanic has plugged in the diagnostics and re-set, and voila, back to good.  The winshield wiper fluid reservoir has a leak - so the "low wiper fluid" light is constantly on because we don't even deal with it.  We've also had the Tire Pressure Sensor be touchy at times.  Sometimes that light goes on, even with tire pressure is perfect (we've never had the tires lose air at all).  There are two cracks in the windshield (as is common in snow towns from the expanding/contracting from temp changes).  You might wanna put a new windshield on, but we've just let it linger for a couple years.  Also, the gas shocks in the trunk are shot. They cost about $65 to replace.  I'm lazy to do it, because I rarely drive this car anymore, but you'll want to replace those.  Otherwise, you've got to hold the trunk up by hand, and it's heavier than you think!

You can check out a zillion websites for features, etc.  All I've gotta say is, for the price I'm asking, this car is an absolute steal.

History:  I purchased it for $22,000 in 2007 with 36.5k miles on it.  I bought it from a doctor in Boise, ID.  He needed a mini-van for kids, and the car was in immaculate shape.  I flew out to Idaho to buy it.  I wanted the navy blue color and it's pretty rare.  I Had it inspected by the local audi dealer, and they told me it was the cleanest Allroad they'd seen.

Please, please, please, email me with any questions, or request more photos - I want to be completely forthcoming, and am not trying to hide anything.

Free pickup in Mammoth Lakes, CA - or I will drive it down to Los Angeles area for $300.  I'm also open to other delivery options, let me know if you're interested and let's see what we can work out.

Thanks!!

Audi replaces Mercedes as official vehicle supplier to the IOC

Sat, 12 Jan 2013

The automotive sponsor of the International Olympic Committee for the past 22 years has been Daimler-Benz. No more, as Audi has just signed a four-year deal to be the official auto supplier to the folks who keep the torch alight and on the move. Audi will supply vehicles for the IOC's headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland and the organization's international events.
In case you're remembering all the stories about BMW and the London Olympics last summer and wondering where Mercedes-Benz was in all of that, the answer lies in the numerous mouths at the Olympic trough. The IOC is the organization and oversight body of the Olympics - much like the way the FIA oversees world motorsport. BMW, though, sponsored the London Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games, so during the games IOC reps rode in Benzes, LOCOG and its guest dignitaries rode in BMWs.
The Volkswagen Group has other ties with the Olympics as well: The Group will be the official vehicle partner for the winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia in 2014, and Audi currently partners the national Olympic federations of Germany, Finland, Russia and Switzerland. The press release below announcing the partnership has all the official details.

Audi entices enthusiasts with manual option for the 2017 A4

Thu, Sep 22 2016

When we first drove the 2016 Audi A4, newly redesigned although cosmetically very similar to its predecessor, much was improved but there was no hint of a manual transmission option. For the 2016 model year, you could have any gearbox you wanted as long as it was a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. For some reason, despite low take rates for manual gearboxes across the board, Audi is stepping up for enthusiasts and offering a six-speed manual. Equally auspicious is the fact that this manual won't be resigned to some non-enthusiast variant, like the front-wheel drive model. The six-speed will be exclusively offered in the Quattro all-wheel drive version with the 252-horsepower version of the 2.0-liter TFSI engine, rather than the 190-hp Ultra variant which utilizes the Miller cycle and is more fuel-economy oriented. There's also an available Sport Plus package that's exclusive to the manual model that adds some previously S4-exclusive bits to the mix, which is further catnip to Audi gearheads. Those S4-derived parts are dynamic steering and sport adaptive suspension, which drops the ride height a bit, too. The rest of the Sport Plus package includes a sporty flat-bottomed steering wheel, 18-inch split-spoke wheels, available Daytona Grey paint, sport seats, and some brushed aluminum interior trim. Best of all, the manual is a no-cost option, and so prices for each trim are the same across the line. In the entry-level Premium trim, the 2017 A4 manual will start at $40,350 and goes on sale this fall.
