Up for sale is my 2004 Audi Allroad that I thought I would never part with.
I am the original owner and have enjoyed all 102k miles. This car has been maintained by my wife and I with regularly scheduled maintenance and anything she needs. Finished in the most desired color combination (Dark Blue/Gray), it is in great condition, no lights on the dash, everything works as it should. It has not been smoked in and the interior is exceedingly clean. No stains on any leather. If you can find wear on the any of the seats, you will have to look very, very closely, if you can find any at all. All the carpets are clean. No scratches or trouble with any of the wood trim. Headliner is perfect with no issues. The ski-bag is intact and has not been deployed. Heated seats work as they should. Note dealer installed trailer hitch (used only a few times for a light sailboat and household 4x8 utility trailer) This car drives as it should, brakes well and shifts smoothly. No shakes or shimmies of any kind. In addition to regularly scheduled oil changes, we've taken care of any of the standard (big-ish) issues that exist with these cars as they age:
A nine year old wagon is bound to have lived a life. This one only has a few things to call out and they are completely cosmetic:
I would absolutely get in this car and drive it to Alaska (I'd like to do that if someone can get me the time off). I'm selling this car because I now have a company car and don't have the driveway space. I'd save it for my teenage son for college, but a station wagon is not his idea of "cool". I would urge you to come and take a look at the car for yourself. Very reasonable reserve. |

Automakers teaming with Google to bring Android to cars this year
Mon, 06 Jan 2014Remember how we mentioned that Hyundai would be offering a BlueLink infotainment app for Google Glass? And how last week, we told you about a rumored partnership between Audi and Google? Well, both of these things were just part of a much bigger deal.
Google has teamed up with Audi, General Motors, Hyundai and Honda to form the Open Automotive Alliance. With the help of chipmaker NVIDIA, the group aims to bring Google's Android operating system to the auto industry on a large scale. While the speed with which Android will be adopted by the industry remains unclear - the OAA's own press release says "timing for each automaker will vary" - we could see the first Android-equipped vehicle by year's end.
For those that keep their ear to the ground in the automotive tech world, this is a big deal for more than just one reason - Honda, GM and Hyundai are all partners in the Siri Eyes Free program from Apple. The future of that relationship now that three of its automakers are in bed with Apple's arch-rival, though, could be under threat.
Audi readies sales of new fuel-efficient A4, A5 and A6 models
Fri, Feb 14 2014As diesels continue to account for a minority of cars sold by Audi in the US, the German automaker and Volkswagen unit continues to expand its diesel models in Europe for the sake of fuel efficiency. Early this year, Audi will debut its new A4, A5 and A6 variants in Europe as part of what it calls its "ultra" strategy of pairing performance with fuel economy. Audi will have 11 new models for 2014, and the updated A4, A5 and A6 will use Audi's 2.0-liter turbodiesel powertrain. Versions of that engine will range from 136 to 190 horsepower, while torque will range from 236 to 295 pound-feet. More importantly, the models will get anywhere from 51 to 60 miles per gallon, when tested on the more lenient European driving cycle. And while manual transmission will be standard (this is Europe, after all), the A6 will have a seven-speed automatic transmission option. Pricing will start at 32,600 euros ($44,000 US) for the base A4 and work its way up to 45,000 euros (about $61,000) for the top of the line A6. Last year, Audi boosted its diesel sales in the US by 40 percent to just over 10,000 units, though that accounted for just a fraction of the approximately 158,000 cars the company sold domestically in 2013. Audi details updated 3.0L V6 TDI engine
Fri, 09 May 2014The brands in the Volkswagen Group have shown that they can develop some of the world's best diesel engines for passenger cars. At the Vienna Motor Symposium taking place May 8 and 9, Audi has an updated one to add to its lineup. It's launching a new version of the 3.0 TDI V6 with better efficiency and more power than the version currently in the US.
The new diesel will be offered in two tunes: 215 horsepower or 268 hp. However, Audi isn't giving away all of the new engine's secrets just yet. It says "depending on model" the mill makes as much as 442.5 pound-feet of torque and gets as much as 13 percent better fuel economy. That likely means the more powerful version gets the twist, and the other one has the better consumption, but we'll have to see.
To compare, the current 3.0 TDI offered in the US produces 240 hp and 428 lb-ft of torque. In the A6, it's rated at 24 miles per gallon city, 38 mpg highway and 29 mpg combined, according to the EPA.
