2001 Audi A6 sedan 4.2L V8 Quattro - 116K miles - Auto - 300HP - 315 lbs/ft Torque
I am selling my A6 because I just got a company car. I've had this car for about 2 years, I bought it with 90K miles and have since spent over $4,000 on the following maintenance/repairs:
New Water pump
New Timing Belt
New Alternator
New Throttle body actuator arms (upgraded steel vs. the cheap factory plastic)
New Plugs
New coil pack(1)
New Coolant seals on the oil cooler
New Flex pipes and steel flanges on the exhaust
Added extras -
fully integrated ipod interface that works with all ipod/iphone devices and can be controlled via the radio and steering wheel controls.
Lightly tinted windows
refinished the wheels in charcoal
The previous owner provided me with the entire service history from when he bought the car new, I am the second owner. Previous owner repairs include but not limited too:
New Transmission @ 50K
New Belts and hoses
New brakes
There are plenty more I can provide to interested buyers
This car was $52,000 when new and came with the following equipment:
Sport package which includes 17' Alloy wheels (i have 2 spares plus the spare in the trunk)
Sport front seats - heated
Sport Rear seats - heated
heated steering wheel
power retractable sunshade rear window
rear door window sunshades
premium sound system
moon roof
multi function trip computer
dual power memory front seats
AC blows cold
headlamp washers
fog lamps
dual zone automatic climate control
So What does it need? The only major thing this car needs is a front bumper, the one on the car is beyond repair but it was like that when I got it and never really bothered me that much. I will negotiate a new, painted and installed bumper in the deal for an additional $1000. The bumper alone is $1000 so I will have it painted to match and installed if you so choose. Everything else is good to go. There is normal where and tear to a car of this age but this is a pretty clean 2 owner car. I haven't been using it much since the winter so it has snow tires on it, I do not have regular tires for it.
Dealer retail on the car is around $10,000

Coronavirus prompts VW to stop production throughout Europe
Tue, Mar 17 2020FRANKFURT — Volkswagen Group, the world's biggest carmaker, is suspending production at factories across Europe as the coronavirus pandemic hits sales and disrupts supply chains, the company said on Tuesday. The German carmaker, which owns the Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Ducati, Lamborghini, Porsche, Seat and Skoda brands, also said that uncertainty about the fallout from coronavirus meant it was impossible to give forecasts for its performance this year. "Given the present significant deterioration in the sales situation and the heightened uncertainty regarding parts supplies to our plants, production is to be suspended in the near future at factories operated by group brands," Chief Executive Herbert Diess said on Tuesday. Volkswagen's powerful works council concluded it was not possible for workers to maintain a safe distance from each other to prevent contagion and recommended a suspension of production at its factories from Friday. Production will be halted at VW's Spanish plants, in Setubal in Portugal, Bratislava in Slovakia and at the Lamborghini and Ducati plants in Italy before the end of this week, Diess said. Most of its other German and European factories will prepare to suspend production, probably for two to three weeks, while Audi said separately it would halt output at its plants in Belgium, Germany, Hungary and Mexico. Volkswagen's vast factories in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in Puebla, Mexico, and plants in Brazil were not affected, but that would depend on how the coronavirus spreads, VW said. Volkswagen has 124 production sites worldwide of which 72 are in Europe, with 28 in Germany alone. "2020 will be a very difficult year. The coronavirus pandemic presents us with unknown operational and financial challenges. At the same time, there are concerns about sustained economic impacts," Diess said. Â Production in China resumes Volkswagen Group sold 10.96 million vehicles last year, putting it ahead of Toyota based on the latest figures from the Japanese carmaker. Globally, VW employs 671,000 people and it delivered 4.86 million vehicles to European customers in 2019. Only last month the car and truck maker based in Wolfsburg, Germany, predicted that vehicle deliveries this year would match 2019 sales and forecast an operating return on sales in the range of 6.5% to 7.5%. "The spread of coronavirus is currently impacting the global economy. It is uncertain how severely or for how long this will also affect the Volkswagen Group.

MotorWeek revisits Audi's iconic Quattro
Tue, 11 Nov 2014The Subaru WRX, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and just about every other all-wheel-drive performance car owes something to the legendary Audi Quattro, a model that was far more successful on the motorsports scene than it was in the showroom. Despite its modest sales, the UrQuattro still looms large in automotive lore, and indeed, in Audi's own sense of self. Considering the brand's semi-regular flirtation with the idea of a reborn Quattro, MotorWeek must have figured it'd be a good idea to revisit the original by digging up this archival review.
While time has the ability to cover up the warts of iconic automobiles, it should be noted that Motor Week host John Davis had more than a few critiques for the all-wheel-drive, turbocharged coupe.
Davis calls the Quattro's slalom handling "a disappointment," citing the overpowered engine and slow steering, and he had some unkind words for the brakes, as well. For our part, we're kind of wowed by the amount of ship-like body motion during testing, yet that sort of bobbing was certainly par for the course back in the early '80s.
