2000 Audi A6 Avant Quattro Black 4-door wagon, tan leather interior 129,000 miles · 2.8L 30v V6 engine (5 valves per cylinder) · Tiptronic automatic transmission (with manual shifting feature) · Permanent quattro all-wheel drive · HID Xenon headlamps · Audi Sympony sound system · Front and rear heated seats · Sunroof RECENT UPGRADES · 17” alloy wheels · Custom sport S6 stainless steel exhaust · Stainless steel braided brake hoses (F&R) · ATE super-blue brake fluid · Brand new OEM brake pads and rotors (F&R) · Brand new headlamps (crystal clear) HISTORY / MAINTENANCE · Bought in 2007 from 2nd owner · Run on only premium gas and synthetic oil for last 7 years / 50,000 miles · Front suspension arms, timing belt / water pump all replaced about 4 years ago I’ve owned this car for about 7 years and have done my best to keep it running right. I’ve been working for an Audi and/or Volkswagen dealer for the past 13 years in parts and service and have used my knowledge and available dealer resources to care for the car over the years. A recent career change came with a brand new VW company car, and now it is time for me to say goodbye to my A6 Avant. Before getting my new car, I was using the A6 almost every day, sometimes taking it on trips more than 300 miles and back. The car runs really well, but needs some work and I will do my best to disclose everything that I know is wrong. WHAT IS RIGHT WITH THE CAR: · Engine runs smoothly and quietly with full power; no excess engine noise and no exhaust leaks · The exhaust system is custom (but street legal), using the stainless steel Audi S6 rear mufflers, keeping stock catalytic converters (with new flex-couplings), but eliminating the center “suitcase” muffler – better flow and a nice, mellow, throaty growl around 2500-3000 rpm. Not loud, not obnoxious, sounds completely stock 80% of the time (including while idling) · Transmission shifts smoothly · Drives straight, no pulling or rattling from the suspension · Brakes are sharp and quiet (all brand new) · All electrical accessories, including windows, locks, HVAC, cruise, sunroof, mirrors and heated seats are operational · Air conditioning blows cold · Passed NY state / emissions inspection July 2013 WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE CAR: · While the wheels look really good, they are not perfectly round. There is a slight vibration felt all around at about 60mph · Tires are worn – need to be replaced · Scratches and dings all around · There is a small coolant leak coming from the back of the engine (I believe it is coming from the crossover pipe). Again, there is no overheating issue, but I do need to top off the coolant once every 3 or 4 weeks · Check engine light comes on intermittently · Electric (A/C) cooling fan is very noisy when it is on (usually only while A/C is running, or in heavy traffic) – it functions perfectly and there is no overheating issue, just sounds like the bearing in the fan motor is shot (NEW REPLACEMENT FAN INCLUDED WITH SALE OF VEHICLE) · Shocks and springs are original and are starting to show their age; while there are no knocks or rattles coming from the suspension, it does feel a little soft… most driver’s would probably not know the difference, but if you are familiar with the way VWs or Audis are supposed to feel on the road · Front cupholders are not working properly (REPLACEMENT PARTS INCLUDED WITH SALE OF VEHICLE) Please note, as knowledgeable as I am about these cars, I can only attest to what I know now. I am in no way expressing any guarantee of condition or warranty of any kind. Vehicle is sold as-is, so if there is anything you would like to know, please ask prior to close of auction. Vehicle is located in New York City and buyer is responsible for cost of transport, sales tax, plates, insurance, etc… $500 due within 2 business days after the close of the auction via paypal, balance to be paid in cash or paypal prior to pickup of vehicle. Vehicle must be picked up / balanced paid within 7 days of close of auction or vehicle will be relisted and deposit forfeited. Sorry for the legal jargon, just want to make sure only serious buyers are placing bids. Happy bidding and good luck!

Next Audi TT RS comes in 2016, manual transmission doesn't
Tue, Jul 21 2015This line comes from our review of the 2012 Audi TT RS: "Did we mention that the 2012 TT RS is only available with a manual transmission?" When we review the next-generation TT RS, expected to launch next year, we'll have to rewrite that line as: "Did we mention that the TT RS is not available with a manual transmission?" That's the word from Car and Driver, which has heard that the superheated little coupe will only come with the seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox found in the Euro-market RS3 Sportback. The first generation came with a dual-clutch and a manual transmission in Europe, but the unit for our market required the laying on of hands to get from one cog to another. If we don't get another, the blow will be all the more painful because Audi's manual transmissions are so good. Our assessment summed up the last one thus, "With a short, precise throw and excellent action, the transmission is a mechanical work of art." Good news? Volkswagen says the installed DQ500 dual-clutch is faster, more refined, and more reliable. As well, power from the reworked 2.5-liter, turbocharged five-cylinder should rise from 360 horsepower to "around 400." You'll just be asked to keep your hands off of it. The first-gen car only came here after a successful Facebook petition gathered more than 11,000 signatures in a month, we wish Audi had given us a chance to weigh in on this, too. Although we will probably get it later next year as a 2017 model, we could see it at the Frankfurt Motor Show in two months. Related Video:
Audi Q7 testing gives us clearer view of new look
Wed, 04 Dec 2013Audi just announced its intentions to build the Q1 in 2016. By that time, the company will already have introduced the opposing bookend to that subcompact utility vehicle, the fullsize Q7. The last time we saw the next-gen Audi Q7 out testing, our spy shots were very low quality and didn't reveal much about the luxury SUV. This time around we're able to make out a few key elements about the Q7.
For starters, the unfinished headlights have a stylish, wave-like lighting element with a three-dimensional appearance, while the rear of the Q7 will definitely get a similar wraparound liftgate as the current model. Overall, this prototype looks to be about the same size as the existing Q7, so it will be interesting to see how Audi squeezes almost 800 pounds from the SUV's curb weight. The diet will surely help improve efficiency, and we also hear that Audi is considering a plug-in hybrid model in addition to the standard gas and diesel variants.
Riding on a shared platform with the next-gen Volkswagen Touareg, Porsche Cayenne and the upcoming Bentley Falcon SUV, the next Audi Q7 is expected to bow in late 2014 for the 2015 model year.
