THIS IS A ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY. HERE IS A 2010 AUDI S5 SUPERCHARGED V6 CABRIOLET IN TRIPLE BLACK. IT IS IN IMMACULATE MINT ORIGINAL COSMETIC AND MECHANICAL CONDITION, ONE OWNER, AND LOCALLY OWNED SINCE NEW. IT HAS 96K MILES, AND LOOKS/DRIVES LIKE IT HAS 36K MILES. SERVICED BY AUDI DEALERS SINCE NEW, IT IS IN PRISTINE MECHANICAL AND COSMETIC CONDITION. CLEAN CARFAX, NO PRIOR ACCIDENTS/PAINT/BODYWORK EVER, AND HAS HAD A FULL PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTION DONE BY AN AUTHORIZED AUDI DEALER WITH A HUGE THUMBS-UP. THIS S5 CONVERTIBLE IS READY TO GO!

-- Here it is in all its glory --

Please let me stop you now if you are looking for an inexpensive, needy, or average S5 convertible like most of them for sale. This is not that car. I am hired by clients to buy over fifty European cars each year, and I can tell you there is ONE thing I look for: a car with a no-expense spared, documented, service and maintenance history. This is that car. On top of that, it drives tight like new, and the cosmetics are impeccable. It has gone 96K miles and looks like NEW, it’s incredible. THAT’S why you buy this car. Ask any other seller if they will take their 96K mile S5 to an authorized Audi dealer for a full pre-purchase inspection and fix whatever is found. The answer will most likely be NO. Please understand, with these cars, you get what you pay for. I paid top-dollar to get this car, because it DESTROYED every other one I looked at for cosmetics and mechanicals.

Here's the deal:

-- This is a 2010 Audi S5 V6 supercharged cabriolet in LZ9Y phantom black pearl effect metallic over ZM black leather interior with matching black soft top, and matching carpets and headliner. It is a 1-owner car since new, always Audi dealer serviced, has 96,xxx original miles, looks like a million bucks, and was always garaged so no rust or rot anywhere. This car was LOVED, and has NEVER had any accidents, paintwork, or bodywork. There are basically no dings, dents, scuffs, or scratches, or signs of wear anywhere…it’s unreal. --

-- Exterior 9.95 out of 10 - Fantastic overall condition paint, body, glass, and trim. No dings. No dents. No scuffs. This S5 convertible looks amazing, with a deep shine to the black metallic paint that's like looking into an endless mirror. This car looks great even under fluorescent light in a garage. Imagine getting a 96K mile metallic car with no swirl marks or spiderwebs in the paint….amazing! --

-- The lower side-body moldings are in great shape. The chrome, rubber, glass, and trim is all excellent and original. No oxidation, fade, wear, rust, etc., just as you’d expect of a mint 2010 car. Look at the body panels.....they are laser straight. --

-- This S5 convertible is highly optioned including navigation with backup camera, DSG transmission, heated and cooled front seats, Bang & Olufsen stereo, satellite radio, bi-xenon headlights, dynamic sports suspension, drive select, folding rear seats, park distance sensors, 18” alloy wheels, sports rear differential, comfort package, and much more. Wow! --

-- It currently wears its OEM 18” multi-spoke alloy wheels, all true and in nice condition. The tires are Dunlop Wintersport 3D 245/40/18 with over 75% tread remaining. At the BIN price I will ALSO include a good used set of all-seasons performance tires with over 80% tread remaining. This S5 cab goes arrow-straight down the road at high speed with no shimmy, pull, or anything else. --

-- Interior 9.75 out of 10 - The interior overall including all seating and door leather, seat padding, dash, console, aftermarket wood trim, and carpets are in great original condition. No dash cracks, carpet rips, and nearly zero wear of any kind on the leather. Everything looks and feels new. This is not the typical worn S5 - this car was garaged every day of its life and it shows. No refinishing either, this is the ORIGINAL UNTOUCHED interior, without even any type of detailing, just a wash and a vacuum off the transport truck. --

-- The door panels and trim are also in great shape, like the rest of the car. --

-- Even the trunk and the spare are mint. --

-- The top operates perfectly, and is clean and looks as new as the rest of the car. No wind or water leaks at all. --

-- This S5 cabriolet also looks great with the top up! --

-- Electrical 10 out of 10 - All lights, switches, radio, windows, wipers, seat motors, top motors, and power mirrors work perfectly. Remote key and interior lights all operating as they should. --

-- The service history is great, extensive and documented all at the Audi dealer. Regular repairs, and most importantly, regular maintenance and oil changes always performed over its entire life under AudiCare pre-paid maintenance. Recent services include new HVAC blower motor, thermostat, and more. Front and rear brake pads are in good shape. The HVAC system is fast to respond, and operates perfectly with scalding hot heat and ice-cold A/C. --

-- Mechanical 10 out of 10 - Engine starts, idles, runs, and revs to redline in every gear smooth and strong. Transmission is smooth yet very aggressive, and downshifts eagerly to thrust you forward. No abrupt engagement, just silky smooth shifts. You can NOT tell when this car is changing gears! This S5 runs at high speed with no vibrations or noises. There are no leaks....NONE. No oil leaks, no top leaks, no nothing. --

-- This Audi S5 cabriolet cabriolet has passed THREE inspections with flying colors. A pre-purchase overall inspection with test drive, a suspension/brake/wheel/tire/exhaust inspection by my mechanic, and an authorized Audi dealer has gone over the car as well. After their final and thorough inspection for any problems, she’s ready to roll. --

-- Engine is strong and eager to run, transmission smooth and ready to drop down two gears at your command to speed you past slower traffic. Brakes are solid and pedal feel is firm. Suspension is tight like new, no worn tie rod ends, ball joints, struts, or anything else. Steering nicely weighted with no play in the box. ZERO leaks or noises. You will NEVER see an engine bay like this on a 14 year old car again! --

-- This Audi S5 comes with its owners manuals, working remote key, clean one-owner carfax, and build sheet/service history showing lots and lots of service and maintenance at the Audi dealer since new, all the way back to day one! No expense spared maintenance and repairs. --

-- This S5 does not have any signs of wear, no rubber rot, no leaks, no lukewarm A/C....NOTHING. Everything is in fantastic shape, and at ‘only’ 96K miles, it's not even close to broken in yet! I swear the first person that sees this car will buy it, you will not believe its condition for the miles! --

-- If someone selects the buy-it-now option, I will provide the following: The good used 18” performance tires mentioned above, AND the near-new winter tires. A full $200 detailing including engine bay, carpet shampoo, leather conditioning, orbital polishing, etc. I'll also supply Toughguard protectant for the paint, which you have to see to believe. It will bead water, seal, and UV protect the paint for FIVE YEARS, GUARANTEED....no future waxings necessary. I know it sounds like a B.S. late-night TV claim, but it's not; dealers charge $695 and up for this stuff, and it really works. I will also include floor mats and Audi touch-up paint. That’s close to $1500 in value! --

-- Nits: A few minor chips from being on the road, one wheel has minor curb rash. THAT’S IT! NOTHING ELSE! The car is as perfect as you will ever see for a 20101 S5 cabriolet no matter how many miles it has, and you’ll never see another one like this one with even half the miles, that’s for sure! --

-- I have great feedback, and have recently sold dozens of high-end cars that the new owners are thrilled with. They and others have offered to act as references to verify that I am honest in my descriptions of the cars I sell, and you are welcome to contact them. --

Audi bringing matrix 'organic' LED concept to Frankfurt

Wed, Jul 29 2015

Audi has announced that it's bringing a new concept to the upcoming Frankfurt motor show in September, and now it is teasing the taillights. They adopt organic light-emitting diode technology, which takes advantage of several benefits. For one, it uses a relatively low amount of electricity, between three and four volts. It's also incredibly thin, made up of two layers, each less than a thousandth of a millimeter thick. It casts no shadows, requires no reflectors or any other elements, and emits very little heat. Plus the lights can be formed into different shapes, opening up new possibilities for designers. This isn't the first time we've seen Audi focus on lighting technology, and in recent years it's showcased matrix LED and matrix laser headlights. The company runs through the history of the evolution of its lighting tech in the video above. We'll have to wait a little longer to find out what the team from Ingolstadt will be putting these new taillights on. Audi presents latest lighting technology at the IAA in Frankfurt - Matrix OLED technology makes its debut in a concept car at the IAA - Light attains a new level of homogeneity - Flat light sources open up new design possibilities Audi is presenting its next step in automotive lighting technology at the IAA in Frankfurt. The new Matrix OLED lights enable a previously unattainable level of lighting homogeneity, opening up further creative opportunities for design. As the leading brand in automotive lighting technology, Audi has systematically developed all aspects of OLED technology over the years. Matrix OLED lights combine high-tech engineering and design ideally – initial projects are currently underway to implement OLED technology in production tail lights. They are being shown for the first time in a concept car at the IAA. OLED is an English acronym for "organic light emitting diode." In each OLED unit, two electrodes – of which at least one must be transparent – incorporate numerous thin layers of organic semiconductor materials. A low DC voltage – between three and four volts – activates the layers, each of which is less than one-thousandth of a millimeter thick, to light them. The color is based on the molecular composition of the light source. In contrast to point light sources – such as LEDs – which are made of semiconductor crystals, OLEDs are flat light sources. Their light attains a new level of homogeneity, and its dimming is continuously variable.

Audi RS3 and Volkswagen Golf R face off in Evo test

Fri, Aug 7 2015

Typically when an automotive publication pits two rivals against each other, they come from different companies. After all, why would one automaker – even one parent company – develop two distinct models to compete against each other? Well, the Volkswagen Group isn't like most. It pits Porsches against Lamborghinis, Audis against Bentleys, Seats against Skodas... all under the same roof. In the high-powered hot hatch market, it offers both the VW Golf R and the Audi RS3. The question is, which is the better drive? Evo put them both on track for a quick bout of sibling rivalry to find out. On paper it would seem like an unfair fight. Sure, both are based on the same platform and channel their power to the tarmac through all four wheels. But the Audi's five-cylinder engine packs considerably more muscle than the Golf's four: 362 horsepower and 343 pound-feet of torque trump 296 hp and 280 lb-ft. There's just no way around that – at least until the Golf R 400 comes along. The Audi, as you might have guessed, also costs substantially more than the Volkswagen. But that's not Evo's concern here. This is a cost-no-object, bare-knuckle throw-down. Watch the ten-minute video above to find out if the cheaper, less powerful Golf R can keep pace with its more upscale and brawnier brother. Weekly Recap: 2016 CTS-V gives Cadillac new momentum for the new year

Sat, Dec 27 2014

It's been a rough year for Cadillac. The historic luxury carmaker been in the news for all of the wrong reasons: Declining sales, ditching its advertising agency and the relocation of its headquarters from Detroit to New York. But in late December, Cadillac reminded everyone what it does best: Build some of the rawest and most compelling luxury sedans in the world, as evidenced by the 2016 CTS-V. This monster churns out 640 horsepower from a supercharged 6.2-liter V8. Sound familiar? That's the Corvette Z06 engine, and it makes this CTS the most powerful production Cadillac ever. It also puts the sporting divisions of the Germans on notice. The new CTS-V easily overpowers the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S 4Matic and its 5.5-liter biturbo V8 rated at 577 hp, and the BMW M5 (with the competition pack) and its 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 that pushes out 575 hp. The rear-wheel drive Cadillac can sprint to 60 miles per hour in 3.7 seconds, which is close to the 3.5-second time turned in by the 4Matic-driven E63 S, and a bit quicker than the 4.1 seconds posted by the M5. With Magnetic Ride Control, General Motors' stout eight-speed automatic transmission (also used in the Corvette), Brembo brakes and a carbon-fiber option package that pretty much builds your car out of carbon fiber – it's clear this Cadillac means business. Truth be told, we expected this CTS-V to deliver. It's been a serious sports sedan for a decade, and the recent generation and its 556-hp arrogance have been particularly memorable. But notice what we're doing here? We're talking about product. Not who makes Cadillac's ads, or if the brand's headquarters has a mailing address in NYC. Like the 2016 ATS-V that's due in the spring, the debut of the 2016 CTS-V (on sale in late summer) is a shot in the arm for Cadillac, and its arrival comes during time of transition. The brand is trying to reinvent itself as a modern luxury maker. It wants new customers, a different image and obviously more sales. Those things are going to take time, but with a 640-hp sledgehammer of a sports sedan on tap for next year, Cadillac can still maintain some of its swagger through all of the change.
