2009 Audi A5 Quattro Coupe 2-door 3.2l S-line, Brilliant Red, Navi, & More! on 2040-cars
Brooklyn, New York, United States
Hi. It hurts me to be selling this beauty, but for financial reasons I must. Let me give you a brief history of this car so that when you buy it you will feel the same love for this car as I have. I purchased this car on April 1st 2013 with 48996 miles (now it has 55,300). The previous owner was the first owner, I'm now the second (although I picked it up from a Land Rover dealership, so technically I may be the 3rd). Prior to purchasing the car, I took it to an Audi Dealership (Audi of Nashua) and for $187, they performed a pre-sale inspection. The results were excellent! They told me to buy the car. At the purchase, I also decided to buy an extended warranty by "Continental Warranty Inc." which covers the car for 60k miles more or 60 months. This warranty will also be transfered to the new owner. At around 52k miles, I decided to complete the 50k tune-up to this car which includes the following:
Because I felt a little shaking in the steering wheel while braking, I also decided to change the brakes at the same time (ALL OEM AUDI PARTS):
Since the car came with snow tires, I also bought 4 new all season tires and had the rims refurbished and re-painted, wheel blance and wheel alignment. Now the car has only 55,300 miles and is in great running and looking state! You don't have to do anything to this car other than drive it and enjoy it as I have! I also have the original floor mats (in the trunk), but I have purchased Audi OEM rubber floor mats. As you can see, since April 1 2013 till now I have put very few miles on it and have kept the car in garage at all times. The car gets waxed at least once a month and the finish is smooth to the touch. The car drives great and has some pretty good power along with great all-wheel drive handling. Car has never been in an accident and has no issues to this date! The inside is immaculate and still has that new car smell! I have a wife, but this car is my baby, hence you can imagine my wife getting angry at me cause I treat my car better than I treat her! I want to assure anyone purchasing this car that they will get an awesome car! The color is the perfect color (Brilliant Red) for this car and it's a head turner! Please don't hesitate to contact me with any and every question you may have about this beauty! Thanks!

First impressions of Audi's next TT interior and Virtual Cockpit [w/video]
Wed, 08 Jan 2014Not content to pummel CES show goers with laser lights and self-piloting vehicles, Audi has also pulled the wraps (well, some of the wraps) off the interior of its upcoming next-gen TT. While the car itself wasn't on hand for us to check out, Audi did mock up the cockpit, complete with its all-new Virtual Cockpit central display and the latest iteration of the company's Multi Media Interface (MMI).
Virtual Display is Audi's new brand name for a completely digital reinterpretation of the instrument binnacle, by way of a 12.3-inch TFT screen. Audi tells us that there are two operable modes for Virtual Display: in the standard mode, an average-sized tachometer and speedometer flank a smaller infotainment portion in the center. Infotainment mode, meanwhile, shrinks the gauges to discreet circles and allows the navigation map, audio controls, or whichever system is being operated by the driver, to fill the remaining screen real estate.
This design, says Audi, allowed engineers to slim down the size of the center console as a whole, without reducing function for the driver. We can say that it looks very impressive as a demonstrator, but we will need some time with it in a moving vehicle before we're convinced it isn't slightly more distracting that a traditional setup.
VW reaches out to diesel consumers with new website
Tue, Sep 29 2015Volkswagen is starting to get details out to the public about its diesel emissions evasions in the US, and the automaker now has a dedicated website for consumers. The first thing that visitors see is an apology video from Volkswagen Group of America CEO Michael Horn. The site also details all of the VW TDI's currently known to be affected here, including the 2009-2015 Jetta, 2009-2014 Jetta SportWagen, 2010-2015 Golf, 2015 Golf SportWagen, 2012-2015 Beetle and Beetle convertible, and 2012-2015 Passat. Although, the Audi A3 should be on there, too. The company repeatedly reassures owners that these vehicles are safe to drive and promises it's developing a fix as quickly as possible to make them emissions compliant. On the site's FAQ, VW also clarifies that there's still a stop-sale on all of these models with the 2.0-liter TDI, including certified pre-owned ones. That could change soon because the automaker believes that the 2016 model year examples are legal, but the Environmental Protection Agency needs to sign off before they could go to dealers. Until the diesels can be sold, there also won't be any TDI advertising by VW. "We are working at full speed on a technical solution that we will present to partners, to our customers and to the public as swiftly as possible," Herbert Diess, CEO of Volkswagen passenger car division, says in a statement. He also offers an improved accounting of the number of vehicles affected. VW had previously said that there were 11 million with the emissions evading software worldwide. According to Diess, around five million of these came from the VW brand. Audi has said there about 2.1 million of its models affected globally with between 13,000 and 14,000 in America. DR. HERBERT DIESS, CEO OF THE VOLKSWAGEN PASSENGER CARS BRAND, EXPLAINS: "WE ARE WORKING AT FULL SPEED ON A SOLUTION." Wolfsburg, September 25, 2015 – In the press release dated September 22, 2015, the Volkswagen Group announced that Volkswagen Group vehicles worldwide are affected by the current issues regarding emissions. The internal evaluation revealed that approximately five million Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand vehicles are affected worldwide. Certain models and model years of these vehicles (such as the sixth generation Volkswagen Golf, the seventh generation Volkswagen Passat and the first generation Volkswagen Tiguan) are equipped exclusively with type EA 189 diesel engines.
Porsche would have entered F1 if Audi had blocked its Le Mans program
Thu, 13 Mar 2014Go back a few years and you may have heard rumors of Porsche heading into Formula One. That never came to pass - or at least, it hasn't yet - but that doesn't mean that it wasn't close to happening. That's how committed to returning to top-level motorsport competition Porsche has become recently.
Autosport reports that just as Porsche was merging fully into the Volkswagen Group, Zuffenhausen was weighing its options for a factory racing program. Le Mans was its favorite, which makes sense, as it remains far and away the most successful constructor in the history of the famous endurance race. But the strategists at Porsche were worried that its new corporate overlords at Volkswagen wouldn't support two LMP1 programs and would favor Audi, which has positively dominated the modern era of endurance racing, coming second only to Porsche in the number of Le Mans victories it has scored to date.
Porsche's Plan B was reportedly to head into Formula One, although it isn't clear if the German automaker was intent on starting its own team, buying an existing one or merely providing engines to other teams. Porsche fielded its own cars in F1 in the late 1950s and early 60s, and returned as an engine supplier with TAG to power McLaren in the 1980s, powering Niki Lauda and Alain Prost to the World Championship in 1984 and 1985.
