Audi A4 Avant Quattro
Four Door Wagon
Four Wheel Drive
~141,000 Miles

I just got this car in February, but my situation is changing and I’m moving out of state. I could use the money for the move, and logistically it makes sense to only move one car. Let me know if you have any questions or want to come take a look at the car. I live in Ybor, but I’m willing to meet up where ever.

Parts List:

  • PES G3 Supercharger $3,999.99
  • Bilstein/HR Suspension $691.83
  • Hotchkis Sway Bar $507.00
  • MSR 045 18x8 Wheels $635.00
  • Thermal R&D Exhaust $849.96
  • Aftermarket “R8 Style” Headlights $259.99
  • OEM S4 Bumper 2002 +$600.00

Total New Parts Price: ~ $7,500

Pro:

  • Wagons are generally badass
  • Rare 6 speed transmission
  • Super clean interior
  • Pretty extensive parts list
  • Fast enough to get in trouble, not too fast to be dangerous
  • Superchargers sound awesome
  • Quiet and comfy, ~40 MPG highway
  • In-Dash multi-disc BOSE stereo
  • Everything I can think of on the interior works (cruise control, power seats, radio, traction control, zone control AC, etc)

Neutral:

  • AC works but needs to be charged. I’ll probably end up doing that before I sell it. It’s getting hot out.
  • About 141,000 miles on the odometer.
  • Tires are getting on the bald side.

Con:

  • Paint could use some work. Clear coat is faded/gone on every flat surface (roof, hood, under the trunk window, etc). A couple decent scrapes on the passenger side of the car.
  • Couple dings and dents, with some rumples in the front fenders
  • Wheels are a little scuffed, but they still drive straight and balance perfectly.

I have a quote to get the car painted, but I’d prefer to sell it before going through the trouble. If I get it painted, the price is going up.

Audi to unveil S1 hot hatch at Geneva Motor Show

Tue, 21 Jan 2014

Audi has been toying with the idea of a hot hatch based on the A1 premium city car for some time now. It rolled out the 500-horsepower A1 Clubsport Quattro concept at the Wörthersee gathering a couple of years ago, then put its form (with half the power) into limited production with the 252hp A1 Quattro (pictured above) shortly thereafter. What it hasn't done is offer a mainstream S1 that people can actually get their hands on, but that's all about to change.
Following spy shots of numerous prototypes, Auto Express claims to have it on good authority that the new S1 will be unveiled at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show in March. Though likely less aggressive in its visual impact, the S1 is expected to get almost as much power as the aforementioned A1 Quattro, with a 2.0-liter turbo 4-cylinder sourced from the larger S3 but detuned to 230 hp.
A six-speed dual-clutch transmission is expected to drive all four wheels - something for which the platform was not originally designed but was later adapted to accommodate - though the availability of a six-speed manual remains in question. Unfortunately the A1 was never destined for the North American market, so as much as we might want one (and as much as Ingolstadt may be motivated to take a bite out of the Mini market), we wouldn't expect to see it roaring into American showrooms.

Next Audi A8 to drive itself up to 37 mph

Thu, Jan 8 2015

Audi has been publicly, loudly, working the autonomous angle for years - it was working on Shelley, the autonomous TTS that would climb Pikes Peak in 27 minutes, way back in in 2009. Parent company Volkswagen had been working with Stanford University on autonomous vehicles for five years before that, and the same program collaboration would take the lead in Audi's efforts here. Where are we now? Well, a convoy of Audi A7s just drove journalists from San Francisco to the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, with "piloted driving in 100 mile stints." On the highway, the "piloted driving" A7 works up to 70 miles per hour and can change lanes, pass other cars, accelerate and brake on its own. A report in Autoweek says public adoption of the technology will continue with the next-generation A8, which will be able to navigate on its own up to 37 mph, make its way through traffic, find a parking spot and park itself. Over time, capabilities will be added - like a higher mph limit - as the technology and the legal issues are fine tuned. The A7 that just did the SF-to-LV run doesn't work in cities, only on highways, so it appears Audi is kicking this off with the abilities demonstrated in an A6 Avant last year at CES. That car had a Traffic Jam mode that only worked in dense traffic and up to 40 mph, but when in operation, it allowed the driver to watch a movie or conduct a videoconference. We have a feeling those two bits of icing won't be included in the fourth-generation A8, though. We'll be late to the party when the big sedan comes; Audi says it will go on sale by the end of 2016, but the US isn't expected to get it until 2017 as a 2018 model.
