The car is in an immaculate condition inside and outside except for a few scratches that are barely even visible. It is the nightline trim, including any option you can dread of having in a car including navigation, BT connectivity, electric everything, leather seats, backing up sensors, and my favorite , a flappy paddle gear box ( in addition to the regular automatic transmition). Hackenberg says next Audi A4 set for Frankfurt debut
Tue, Mar 10 2015The current Audi A4 is among the oldest vehicles in the brand's lineup. Having debuted back in 2008, it's long overdue for an update, and according to our friends at Indian Autos Blog, that'll happen in roughly six months. IAB spoke to Audi research and design chief Ulrich Hackenberg, who indicated that the fifth-generation A4 will be shown at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The new sedan will be unveiled in "a pre-presentation" before the auto show itself, Hackenberg told IAB, adding that "you'll be happy to see it." Information beyond that, though, remains sparse. Based on our previous spy photos, we expect the new A4 to ride on the Volkswagen Group's modular MLB Evo platform that's been stretched to accommodate a larger wheelbase. The styling, meanwhile, will be more evolutionary, inspired in part by the new TT. Expect more on the next-generation A4 as September approaches. Related Video:
Audi TT Ultra Quattro Concept throws lightness at the problem
Thu, 25 Apr 2013Audi is celebrating the 2013 Wörthersee Tour with a special concept version of the company's TT. The Audi TT Ultra Quattro concept tips the scales at just 2,449 pounds thanks to some extensive engineering work. The company pulled nearly 95 lbs from the car's body structure and used carbon-fiber reinforced plastics for many of its detachable body components. As a result, the concept weighs in at a full 220 pounds lighter than its production counterpart. Throw in a wicked turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 310 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, and you get a machine with the power to weight ratio in the supercar realm. 0-60 comes up in 4.2 seconds and top speed is listed at 173 mph.
Inside, the TT Ultra Quattro features plenty of carbon fiber trim, and designers also fitted the seats from the R8 GT to save a little weight. The buckets use CFRP for the seat frames, saving nearly 50 pounds in the process. In a world where automakers seem blind to the negative effect of throwing more heft at a vehicle, we're in love with the Ultra Quattro concept. Ken Block and friends race light in silly-beautiful Castrol commercial
Wed, 28 May 2014How does one make fast, loud, drifting cars better? Well, you can add more fast, loud, drifting cars or you can add lasers. Either or, really. In this case, Castrol did the right thing and added both, creating a highly stylized commercial for its Edge Titanium motor oil starring South African racer Adrian Zaugg, BMW factory driver Augusto Farfus, Audi DTM and Le Mans staple Mike Rockenfeller and some bloke named Ken Block.
Their cars? No surprise, but Block is in his Ford Fiesta GRC, while Zaugg samples a Lamborghini Aventador and Farfus and Rockenfeller drive along party lines, with a BMW M4 and an Audi R8, respectively. And those cars look good, too, thanks to the creative light and laser work on display.
