2004 Audi A4 Quattro Base Sedan 4-door 1.8l on 2040-cars
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, United States
This car has a salvage title. It was rear ended on the driver's side. The car was repaired by a body shop in town and I've been driving it for a little over a year now. The trunk latch was broken when I purchased the car and still is. The glove compartment door was as well, and was never fixed. The hinges on the door have snapped. The door is attached, it just needs to remain locked. The back bumper has a scuff from being rear ended in a parking lot. I purchased this car as a second vehicle because I've always loved Audi and wanted to have one to drive around for a while. I had some basic things done to the vehicle. In September 2013, Eurotech in Myrtle Beach put a new timing belt, water pump, vac hoses, and pvc valve. The engine in this car is solid. Last month I had a new windshield installed at Turner's Auto Glass in Myrtle Beach. I installed a new grill and quattro emblem. New wiper blades 2 months ago. Both quite expensive. The tires are in good shape with plenty of life left in them. I've kept up with all the oil changes. All features are in working order. The heated seats work great as well as the air conditioning. This a great car with low mileage for the year. This would make a great second vehicle for someone who knows what they're getting into as far as German cars and what it takes to maintain them. I had planned on restoring the car fully, but my job takes up too much time to make it possible. I've enjoyed driving it, it's a fun car. Any questions feel free to ask. Any other pictures you'd like to see, please ask.

Volkswagen Group names Paefgen head of classics program
Tue, 04 Oct 2011You may remember the name Franz-Josef Paefgen. Until recently, the German engineer and executive was head of both Bentley and Bugatti. Before that he was chief executive of Audi, after working for several years at Ford. He technically "retired" earlier this year, but like the cars he helped create, an executive like Paefgen could never really retire. So it should come as little surprise that the Volkswagen Group has named Dr. Paefgen head of its Classic program.
In his new capacity, Paefgen will oversee the historic automobile activities of the entire VW Group, including those of Volkswagen, Seat, Skoda, Audi, Lamborghini, and of course Bentley and Bugatti. It strikes us as a suitable semi-retirement for the man responsible in no small part for the Bugatti Veyron and Bentley Mulsanne, to name just two, and who was decorated in 2006 by the ACO as the "Spirit of Le Mans" for his contribution to endurance racing. Read the official announcement after the break.
Audi bringing new TT Roadster to Paris
Wed, 24 Sep 2014The TT may be first and foremost a coupe, but in presenting the third-generation model, Audi has toyed with all sorts of body-styles. There's been the prototypical coupe, of course, but also shooting brake and crossover concepts. The one thing it hasn't shown us is the convertible model, but that ends today as Audi takes the wraps off the new TT Roadster and TTS Roadster.
Set to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show next month, the new TT Roadster naturally follows its fixed-roof counterpart's lead closely, but with the addition of a folding fabric roof mechanism. Made of magnesium, aluminum, steel and plastic, the mechanism weighs 6.6 pounds less than its predecessor's, helping keep the center of gravity lower. It also folds flatter to allow for more luggage space, and can deploy or retract in ten seconds at speeds up to 31 miles per hour. With the roof up it's also quieter, and with a drag coefficient of 0.30, Audi claims it's the slipperiest in the segment.
Of course, Audi's also worked to keep the weight down and rigidity up. As a result, the 0-62 sprint only takes an extra 0.2 seconds, quoted in the TTS Roadster at 4.9 seconds instead of 4.7 in the TTS coupe. Top speed remains pegged at 155 miles per hour. That, of course, is with the top-spec, 310-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo four, but Audi will also offer the less potent 184-hp version as well as a 2.0-liter TDI, mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed DCT, though specific performance figures for each version were not disclosed in the press release below.
Audi RS3 spy shots foreshadow an ultra-hot hatch
Fri, 04 Oct 2013Not all vehicle prototypes and mules require heavy camouflage - sometimes they can be hidden in plain sight. That's probably what Audi was hoping for while testing its new RS3 wearing S3 duds, but thanks to some visual and audible telltales, our spy photographers were able to recognize this as a precursor to the marque's ultra-hot hatch testing near the Nürburgring.
Our photographer noticed the signature exhaust note of a five-cylinder engine, which suggests the RS3 could borrow its motivation from the excellent TT RS. Producing at least 340 horsepower, this 2.5-liter turbo powerplant could be the perfect answer for the new A45 AMG from Mercedes-Benz. The big brakes on this RS3 mule give us our best idea about the car's high-performance intentions, with Audi RS wave brake rotors and six-piston calipers peering out from behind the oversized wheels.
In production form, the RS3 should have a much different appearance from what you see here, with sportier design cues including oval-shaped dual exhaust outlets and a more aggressive front fascia. While we're still waiting for our first taste of the S3 in the North America, we'll be holding our breath for the RS3 to make its way here, as well.
