Up for sale is my beloved 2001 Audi TT Quattro Coupe. It's the 225HP, 6 speed version (AMU engine code) with: cruise control, power windows, doors, Bose premium audio w/ 6 disc changer, heated seats, leather interior (aviator gray) keyless entry, alarm w/ proximity sensor, fold down rear seats, and optional cup holders. Car is in great condition for an 13 year old car, just look at the pics. I also have many more pics, so please email me if you'd like me to send. The car has 141,017 miles currently, but the engine was partially rebuilt by Audi at 83,760 miles due to a failed (stripped) timing belt which bent a bunch of valves and destroyed the head. The car was under warranty at the time so Audi of America replaced the entire top end of the engine (which I have the paperwork for). Here's a list of what was replaced: cylinder head, head gasket, timing belt, roller, tensioner, water pump, thermostat, vacuum lines, and bunch of miscellaneous screws, bolts, and gaskets. So the car has less than 50K miles on the top end of the engine. It runs perfectly and sounds amazing. In addition to the top end rebuild of the engine, I've done quite a bit of work on the car myself as I'm pretty anal when it comes to my cars. Here's a list of the maintenance done by myself on the car, most done w/in the last year:

• oil changes every 7,500 miles using Mobil 1 full synthetic
• replaced fuel filter w/ Mahle filter w/in last year
• replaced cabin / interior air filter w/in last year
• replaced Haldex oil and filter w/in last 8K miles (AWD unit)
• replaced transmission fluid w/ Redline full synthetic w/in last year...shifts smooth as silk w/ no notchiness or grinding at all in any gear
• rebuilt instrument cluster in 2009 w/ ModuleMasters...replaced center info display so no dead pixels at all
• replaced coolant flange and all coolant (w/ proper Pentosin) w/in last year
• replaced A/C compressor, expansion valve, drier, all o-rings, flushed lines, and fan control relay nearly a year ago...A/C blows ice cold and car has no overheating issues
• replaced front brake rotors w/ slotted rotors, EBC greenstuff pads
•brand new battery (in May '12)
• I'm sure there's more, but that's what comes to mind immediately. I have all records of repairs from dealer and a Clear Title in Hand.

Mods and Extras Included:

German Body Kit by Regula Tuning
Vortex Side Skirts
Evolution Racing Cold Air Intake
Blue Flame Exhaust 2.5 inch from cat back. Don't make any more very hard to find.

How should Volkswagen deal with its diesel problems?

Mon, Sep 21 2015

The hounds of hell are bearing down on Volkswagen in the wake of allegations of cheating on diesel emissions testing. In just a single day, Volkswagen's stock has dropped 23 percent and the German government has announced that it is going to investigate a far larger number of vehicles over emissions violations. The American storm is quickly becoming a global one. Volkswagen sells over a million diesel vehicles a year and also has more than 13 percent of the automotive market overall – it was the number one automaker in the world up until the scandal. Yet in a matter of hours, Volkswagen has also become a pariah with potential fines and recalls that may be dwarfed by how the alleged lies and deceit change how governments and consumers view the company. Consumers are really going to be the key to the company's survival. It's those consumers who are really going to be the key to the company's survival. Every single one of them now finds themselves with a product that was sold illegally and may not be registered until recall work is done. What's worse is that Volkswagen doesn't yet have a solution for the emissions issue to offer these customers. It should also be noted that this is not the first time Volkswagen has found itself in violation of EPA emission regulations. Volkswagen is in a world of trouble, so what now? As a car dealer and former financial analyst who took several companies public, I believe Volkswagen can and should consider three points of action that would make an enduring difference in the times to come. 1. Offer affected TDI owners a compelling reason to stay with the brand. Recall work and a cup of coffee at the dealership are not going to be enough to placate current owners. Volkswagen should provide compensation for customers at the earliest opportunity and offer some type of inducement that keeps them within the fold. This shouldn't be the industry's version of a Chuck E. Cheese coupon - a small discount on a new vehicle. Volkswagen needs to offer something along the lines of a strong warranty extension of the entire powertrain (not just the emissions system) or some type of valuable feature upgrade for these vehicles so that owners feel that they have been treated fairly. Perhaps a combination of a brand new navigation system, software upgrades for the infotainment components, or some type of basic free WiFi service would be a healthy act of generosity.

Daily Driver: 2016 Audi A7

Thu, Aug 13 2015

Daily Driver videos are micro-reviews of vehicles in theAutoblog test fleet, reviewed by the staffers who drive them every day. Today's Daily Driver features the 2016 Audi A6, reviewed by Seyth Miersma. You can watch the video above or read a transcript below. Watch more Autoblog videos at /videos. Show full video transcript text Hey, all. This is Seyth with Autoblog, and I'm in the 2016 Audi A7 3.0. It's interesting, initially, I thought that I wouldn't do any kind of video review on this car because I've already done reviews on the Audi RS7 and the Audi S7. I didn't want to be overly heavy handed on the Audi A7 range, but I thought I'd at least do a quick update because it's a little bit interesting to compare and contrast all three versions of the car. This A7 has got a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 engine. It makes 333 horsepower, 325 pound-feet of torque. The MSRP starts around $69,000 when you factor in the destination charge. The one that I'm driving is right around $78,000. You look around the cabin, and you see typically nice Audi fare. It definitely feels like you're in a high-end car. Compare that to the S7, and you lose about 120 horsepower, and you add to that sticker price around $14,000. Move up to the RS7, which if you'll remember I characterized as a supercar with a hatchback, you're down way more than 200 horsepower and right around $35,000. When you take the step down especially in power you expect that the performance is not only going to lag but might be a little bit disappointing being as I was in the fancier ones first. The truth is after all these miles, this car is really fantastic especially the RS7. It really surprised me with its ability to combine just crazy good performance with great livability, never overly harsh, not a lot of impact noises. The suspension didn't beat you up. All that is obviously true of this A7 too. You don't have that top end and maybe not all of the outright ability, but it still feels very capable and a lot of fun to drive when you want to push it. You get a powerful V6, which makes the car feel pretty damn fast. Now as I'm speeding along here, I don't get the same sort of aural enjoyment from this car as I do from the V8s. Those guys just sound crazy good especially when you're really getting into it. The V6 you really got to work at to hear even, but it's satisfying, and it just feels nice and light and powerful when you're going down the road.

Audi Allroad Shooting Brake is a TT peep show

Mon, 13 Jan 2014

What you're looking at here is the almost-here third-generation Audi TT. Just compress the suspension a bit to take away its Allroad pretensions and rake its backlight to align better with the previous generation's aesthetic, and you're pretty well there. What you're looking at officially, of course, is the Audi Allroad Shooting Brake, a four-seat E-Tron hybrid showcar powered by Audi's venerable 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder (good for 292 horsepower) backed by a 40-kW electric motor and a secondary 85-kW motor acting upon the rear axle to provide low- and moderate-speed drive. The latter also provides through-the-road Quattro all-wheel drive when extra traction and power is called for.
All-in, Audi says the Allroad Shooting Brake's ETron powertrain is good for 408 horsepower and total system torque of 479 pound-feet, enough to haul the 3,500-pound German to 62 miles per hour in 4.6 seconds and up to a governed 155 mph. Despite that tidy performance, Audi says the Allroad Shooting Brake offers robust fuel consumption of 1.9 liters per 100k, equivalent to 124 miles per gallon, with a bladder-busting range of 510 miles.
