Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster in the metal in Monterey

Even surrounded by glamorous people and a plethora of extremely exotic vehicles on the lawn of the Quail, the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S Roadster sticks out as something just a little bit more special. Under the Monterey sun all of the carbon fiber on the hood and in the air dam pops out from the shining ruby red paint. The aggressive looks are deserved though, because the latest roadster might be one of the most impressive droptop GTs ever to come out of Aston Martin. Under that louvered bonnet is a tuned version of Aston's long-lived 6.0-liter V12 – it's 44 pounds lighter, too. Plus, this engine is mated to the brand's latest Sportshift III seven-speed sequential gearbox to rocket it to 60 miles per hour in 3.9 seconds and on to a top speed of 201 miles per hour. Features like adaptive dampers, two-stage ABS and carbon-ceramic brakes, make the new V12 Vantage Roadster an even more intriguing and capable package. Aston CEO claims Cygnet cancelled because Toyota is dropping iQ in 2014

While slow sales and a $50,000 price tag may have been contributing factors to the Aston Martin Cygnet being cancelled last month, Aston Martin CEO Ulrich Bez is pointing the finger at Toyota for the demise of this luxurious little city car. In a discussion with Autocar, Bez is quoted as saying that the ultimate reason the Cygnet was cut is because Toyota plans on dropping the iQ (on which the Cygnet is based) in 2014 - a claim denied by the Japanese automaker.
Interestingly, the article also cites another publication reporting that a Toyota importer in the Netherlands heard the same news as Bez, and it has already stopped importing the cars. If the European Toyota iQ is cancelled, that would likely spell the end of the slow-selling Scion iQ in the US, which has sold just 3,365 units through September (a drop of 51 percent year over year).
Regardless of why production of the Cygnet ended, Bez also says that a lack of support from Toyota on the project prevented it from being offered in the US or receiving a supercharged engine, which are two factors that likely would have made the car appealing to more buyers.

Spectre star Daniel Craig suffers minor injury riding in Aston Martin DB10

The Aston Martin DB10 might look amazing. It does not, however, have an abundance of headroom, as James Bond actor Daniel Craig found out. The star of the 24th 007 film, Spectre, Craig was injured while filming a scene inside the DB10. The car was shooting a chase scene in Rome with the film's other four-wheeled star, the Jaguar C-X75, when the stuntman behind the wheel (which happened to be a cage on the coupe's roof) hit one of the ancient city's notorious potholes. Craig bopped his head hard enough to warrant a trip to the on-set medic, The Los Angeles Times reports. According to The Times, the DB10 was being chased by the one-off Jag of film baddie Dave Bautista on Rome's Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. Craig's injuries were deemed minor enough that he made a scheduled trip to London to continue filming. Next time 007, stick to the Fiat. Related Video:
