2008 Aston Martin Vantage V8 convertible low, low reserve

Perfect condition 2008 Aston Martin Vantage V8 convertible. It has the 4.3 liter, 380 horse V8 mated to the automated manual Sportshift transmission. It also has navigation, factory iphone/cellphone integration, and all power options including doors, trunk, windows, mirrors, and seats. This car is an absolute blast to drive whether the top is up or down and Aston definitely hit the nail on the head with the smooth V8 and exhaust note on these cars. Aston Martin is one of the few cars out there today that are still hand-built and the extremely high level of craftsmanship definitely shows in this car. The quality of the leather, stitch-work and overall fit and finish that Aston Martins exhibit is truly remarkable. An Aston Martin Vantage is not simply another luxury sports car like a Mercedes SL, Corvette, Nissan GTR, etc... It is a rolling work of art and a fine example of high performance engineering and quality British craftsmanship. I assisted a good friend of mine in finding and purchasing this car in the fall of 2010. He is the second owner of this car and has had it most of its life at almost 4 years. I am a total car nut and have owned everything from old Military trucks to Ferrari's and Porsche's so he has enlisted my help to list it for him. Also, he lives in Tucson and there isn't an Aston Martin dealership there so he would leave the car with me in Scottsdale whenever he needed regular service. It is truly an amazing car in absolutely pristine condition but rarely gets driven with only 16k miles so he has decided to sell. It has never been driven in rain or bad conditions of any kind and since we live here in Arizona and it was originally from Southern California, it has never come close to seeing snow. The color scheme and wheels is what originally drew us to this car and I think it really sets this Aston apart from the other Vantages on the road. The exterior color is Tungsten Silver Metallic with a black soft-top in perfect condition and a unique two-tone black and saddle brown leather interior that all really do this car justice. The wheels are custom TSW 19" with Bridgestone Potenza 235/40's up front and 274/35's in the rear. Everything works perfectly and as it should on this car and we have had all service work performed at the Aston Martin dealership in North Scottsdale, although these are not pretentious cars at all to maintain and do not require any outlandish servicing like many other ultra-luxury brands. I also have the original Navigation DVD, manual, and 2 sets of keys/remotes. Unfortunately, prices have slumped off on these cars in recent months so we don't expect to get anywhere near Kelly Blue Book's current retail price of $117,102 but it's at least good to know that even Kelly Blue Book recognizes the value of these cars and of course, that number definitely couldn't hurt if you ever wanted to finance this car. This Aston has been meticulously cared for its entire life and has always been store in a climate controlled garage. Ready to sell fast with an extremely low reserve so bid with confidence. Miami real estate investor selling world's largest collection of Bond cars

Tue, Feb 25 2014

In 2011 Miami real estate investor Michael Dezer bought dozens of cars used in the James Bond films from the Bond Museum in Keswick, England. Since then, he's added to the trove which now stands at 59 cars, as well as motorcycles, boats, jetskis, tanks and thousands of photos, posters and memorabilia. It is the largest collection of 007 cars in the world, and Dezer has put it up for sale for 20 million pounds ($33.25M US) - the caveat is that you have to buy the entire collection. But what a collection it is. Among the six Aston Martins are the DB5 from Goldeneye, the Vanquish from Die Another Day and both V8s from The Living Daylights. There is also the Lotus Esprit from The Spy Who Loved Me - not the Esprit submarine that Elon Musk bought last year at auction, but the pre-dive roadgoing car. The new owner of the collection will keep things up to date with the Audi A5 and the Land Rover Defender 110 from the opening scene of Skyfall, and properly varied with the dragon tank from Dr. No, the Fairey Huntress yacht in From Russia with Love, and the chopped-in-half Renault 11 from A View to a Kill. An agency in the UK is handling the sale. We will now leave you to handle the money transfer from your people in Liechtenstein. NHTSA grants Aston Martin temporary exemption from new safety standards

Sun, Nov 2 2014

A few months ago, we reported that Aston Martin was in danger of running afoul of new US safety regulations that could force it to take some of its most popular models off the market. The automaker, its dealers and – according to the overwhelming results of our informal online pole – you yourselves reasoned that the constricting regulations were unfair to a small-scale, niche automaker like Aston Martin. And the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration evidently agrees, granting the British automaker a temporary exemption from the regulations and allowing it to keep its cars on the US market. The issue comes down to new side-impact crash standards that require motor vehicles to better withstand a collision with a stationary object like a pole or a tree. The Vantage and DB9 models do not meet the new regulations, and Aston, it seems, doesn't have the wherewithal to re-engineer the cars to meet the regulations. But given the small nature of the independent automaker and the relatively small number of vehicles it sells, NHTSA has granted Aston an exemption. As a result, instead of being forced to comply with the new regulations that took effect for the coupes this past September and for convertibles the next – or else withdraw from the market altogether – the DB9 coupe will have until August 2016 to comply, while the DB9 Volante and both coupe and convertible models in the Vantage line will have until August 2017. It's entirely possible that, by that point, Aston will have all-new models on offer, potentially replacing the Vantage and DB9 models or giving it sufficient new products to offer that taking those older, non-compliant models off the market would not cause it the same degree of financial harm. The automaker has an all-new platform in the works and a new engine deal with Mercedes-AMG in place, and was recently spotted testing what could be the first of its new generation of models at the Nurburgring.

Watch Top Gear lap the Aston Martin Vulcan at Yas Marina

Mon, Mar 7 2016

Late last month, we reported on Top Gear – that's the magazine, not the TV show – getting its first crack at the new Aston Martin Vulcan. While impressions of the track star were limited to text, the famous British mag has now released video of its close encounter at the Yas Marina Circuit. You want to watch this video. Despite Top Gear not actually being on the air, it's pretty clear the video team on the magazine end has taken a lot of inspiration from the telly. Stylistically, this is a good thing. But it's also good because of the details we can see on the Vulcan. Every louver, scoop, and slat seems to get attention, and the footage where the entire car is featured is just gorgeous. If you don't have flashbacks of Clarkson, Hammond, and May within the first five seconds of the video – when the Vulcan executes a lovely slide on corner exit – then we suggest you watch more TG. Driving the car is Ollie Marriage, the same bloke that wrote last month's piece on the Vulcan, and his sentiments largely echo the text. Only, you know, there's a lot more engine noise. And gear whine. And flames. Like we said, you want to watch this video. And you can. It's embedded up top. Have a look. Related Video:
