2001 Aston Martin Db7 Vantage Volante Convertible 2-door 6.0l on 2040-cars
Carlsbad, California, United States
Meticulously maintained, everything possible to make this a fast, reliable Land Jet has been done. It Looks, Sounds, and Performs as It Should. A push of the Start Button instantly brings this magnificent V12 to Life. I have all service records from the time it was delivered New. I am the third owner however; I'm responsible for the majority of mileage (35,000) and owned it the longest (8 years). Many New Parts (Within last 3,000 miles) including Front bushings, gaskets, brake pads, rotors, seals, hoses, lines, plugs, coils, wiring harness to coils, fuel pumps (both), Engine mounts, U joints, cables, power steering pump and Master Brake Cylinder, Front P Zero Tires, etc. to make this Aston drive like new. This speedometer may indicate 50,000 miles however; I have spent in excess of $30,000 in the last 2.5 years to freshen the mechanical. DB7 Ive owned many exotic cars in my life; however this Aston is the whole package. You can drive it like a Go Kart or an Autobahn Grand Tourer (GT). It will chauffer you when you feel like cruising and comes to life when you shift into Sport mode. Understated Elegance. Even Ferrari struggles to match the prestige and exclusivity associated with Aston. This car gets Respect and Admiration from Everyone, Children and Adults from all walks of life view this as a Dream Car. Its look is Timeless and will be admired indefinitely. It turns heads for the right reasons. Unlike brasher supercars or more showy sports cars, the DB7 oozes class, its unmistakable style indicating you as a person with exquisite taste. The big 6.0-litre V12, when mated to the smooth five-speed automatic transmission, makes the DB7 a relaxed cruiser, with the potential to turn into Ballistic Racer when called upon. Minor issues: tiny scuff on lower right side passenger door. Leather on top of instrument cluster tightened. Most of leather is perfect and better that you would expect. Air bag indicator light illuminated (goes on and off). AC has new blower fan however, still blows weak, Chin rash under front nose from driveways. Looks Very Well Maintained in many respects looks like new. I welcome and strongly suggest a Pre-Buy inspection of the vehicle here in Carlsbad California. I will be happy to arrange for access to the vehicle at any time during the Auction. Please call me with any questions you have at 760-500-2388 or email me at doctorborkin@gmail.com My Mechanic is available to describe the incredible maintenance of this Aston Martin. Good Luck with the Auction. Owners of the DB7 Praise the car. Aston Martin lead designer doesn't fear the future
Mon, Mar 12 2018Marek Reichman is the chief creative officer of Aston Martin, so he oversees the creation of some of the world's most desirable vehicles. This includes not only the production cars from the venerable British brand, like the DB11 coupe and convertible, or the all-new Vantage, but also "Specials." These limited-edition, extremely expensive, outrageous and drool-worthy custom vehicles are developed by Aston's special advanced engineering skunkworks, like the Vulcan and Valkyrie. And, now, with the revival and reimagining of Lagonda as an electric and autonomous ultra-luxury sub-brand, he's also responsible for creating a full line of vehicles to fill out its offerings a limousine, a coupe and an SUV. Speaking at the global launch of the brand's new Vantage Β long its best-selling vehicle and the entry-level gateway into the Aston universe Β Reichman is cautiously optimistic about the future of the traditional sports car. In part, because he believes that some humans will always crave speed and feel. "Washing clothes became automated, building refrigerators became automated. Everything becomes automated, because we see it as advanced," Reichman says. "But there will always be a segment of the population that wants that experience. That engagement." Of course, as technology advances toward the alleged inevitability of our electric and autonomous future, and rules regarding who can own or drive what kind of car lead or follow, this segment may become increasingly restricted. Reichman lives in Oxford, England, which will become the first city in Europe to completely ban carbon-emitting vehicles in the start of the next decade, so he is well aware of these impending changes. "At the high performance end it might become the province of the rich, who will need private spaces to use these vehicles," he says. "But what will happen with the Morgans or the Lotuses of the world Β the more accessible brands? There may still be a place for them." View 17 Photos This sense of possibility stems from Reichman's belief that the next generation can hold simultaneously divergent ideas. "I think there is always going to be a space for the personal need and desire for performance driving. I see it even in kids today," he says. "They believe in the world of electrification. That that is their inevitable future.

Thu, Jan 14 2021For the fourth time in the last year, an Aston Martin out-discounts all other automakers by offering the largest monetary savings off the retail price of an automobile in America. This time, though, the discount isn't on the aging (though still beautiful) Rapide sedan or range-topping DBS Superleggera, it's for the DB11 sports car. For those keeping track, the DB11 also led this discount list back in May of 2020. This time, though, the price is even lower than before. Right now, buyers of the Aston Martin DB11 are seeing discounts of $24,330. That's a 12.1% cut off the car's average retail price of $201,820 and it means buyers are paying an average transaction price of $177,490. Still expensive, but really not bad for a drop-dead gorgeous machine with as much as 630 horsepower. Next in line is a familiar face, the Acura NSX. As impressive as the Japanese hybrid supercar may be, Acura has been running big rebates on the NSX for as long as we've been running these lists. This month, the NSX buyers are seeing discounts of nearly 14% for an average transaction price of $138,648. The third biggest discount this month shows up on the most expensive vehicle on the list. The Rolls-Royce Phantom carries an average sticker price of $537,500. But buyers are getting about 4% off that for an average transaction price of $516,333. It may not be a massive discount when measured by percentage, but when the asking price is so high, even a small discount equals big bucks. Related Video:
Nissan could have bought a stake in Aston Martin as early as 2012
Mon, 08 Sep 2014Aston Martin has a very interesting future ahead of it. While the British brand appeared to be struggling with aging tech for a while, fresh investment from Daimler may have shown a light toward the future with the brand getting engines and electronics from them. Also, former Renault-Nissan top exec Andy Palmer has jumped ship from the French/Japanese automaker to become CEO of the much smaller sports car company. Interestingly, though, new reports from unnamed Nissan sources have indicated that Palmer has been pushing to work with AM for years.
Three unnamed company insiders told Reuters that Palmer made attempts to convince Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn in 2012 and 2013 to invest in Aston Martin, but his proposals were shot down both times for unspecified reasons, according to Automotive News. "We looked carefully at the proposal but we passed on it," said one of the sources.
You can easily see why Palmer was eying Aston Martin even back in 2012. It's no secret that the British sports car mavens were in need of extra funding, well before the Daimler investment. Building vehicles these days is only getting more expensive with stronger safety and emissions requirements. Just look at the brand's desperate hope to get a side-impact crash exemption to keep selling its models in the US as an example.
