This 91 generation 4 Alfa Spider  and drives great. Gets lots of compliments wherever I go- most people don't even know what an Alfa Romeo .  The gen 4 (1991-94) Spiders offer Bosch fuel injection, some styling and other  upgrades making it comfortable yet fun to drive. The engine starts right up, no smoking, trans shifts fine (no second gear crunch common on these) and drives fine. Recent maintenance includes new master cylinder, battery, A/C charge, headlight stone guards,  and oil change. Tires have plenty  of tread, and the spare is also 5 star Alfa Mag, with a brand new tire. I have the original tool kit in back, jack, and owner's manual.

Body  is very  nice with just a few normal dings and scratches commensurate with 110000 miles and 22 years of driving. Virtually  rust free, the exception being a couple small bubbles on the windshield wiper cowl as shown.  Trunk is very  clean and rust free. Interior is nice, shows normal minor wear. seats appear to have been dyed at some time, looks very  good. Gauges work except the tach- never did work while I've had it. Oil pressure gauge drops after driving a while, but I'm told this is common with these, and I had a mechanic check it with a separate gauge, and oil pressure is fine, even after long idle here in the Florida heat. A/C works, radio and power antenna works. Horns just quit recently- haven't had them checked. Top is very good shape-  no issues- ( I never use it-  as I only  drive it on nice days, and it sits in my  garage top down). Back window is clear.

I bought the car from an Alfa collector in MO- he bought it here in Fl and hardly  drove it. Failing health forced dispersal of his collection. I've been enjoying it but no longer have space for it.

I have tried to describe the car thoroughly- please realize it is not a show car, nor is it priced like one. It's a very  reliable, fun driver. As such, it is sold AS IS,where is-  buyers pays shipping, taxes , registration etc as required by  your state. It is currently titled in Florida in my  name.  I'm in SW Fl , between Sarasota and Fort Myers. You  are welcome to come see and drive it .

$500 deposit required at the close of the auction, with balance due in 7 days, cash or certified payment.

Form and function in fairly equal parts | 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio First Drive

Mon, Jun 26 2017

Alfa Romeo, a brand synonymous with sports cars that combine beautiful Italian design with historically dodgy reliability, now makes a crossover. The Stelvio is named after what is quite possibly the best driving road in the world, and the automaker would have you believe that it is the most purely focused driver's ute in the world. To that end, the Stelvio boasts a perfect 50/50 front-to-rear weight distribution, a fast 12.0:1 steering ratio, and an all-wheel-drive system that's tuned to send 100 percent of the engine's power to the rear wheels whenever possible. All of those bits add up to an SUV that's genuinely fun to drive on winding roads. Think of the Stelvio as an Alfa Romeo Giulia with a suspension lift kit that puts you 2.5 inches higher off the tarmac. Yes, those stilts mean the crossed-over Alfa isn't quite as sharp as the Giulia, but the Stelvio isn't at all dimwitted. It's a true Alfa Romeo, in spirit and in execution, right down to its standard carbon-fiber driveshaft. The Stelvio shares its 111-inch wheelbase and its double-wishbone front and Alfa Link rear suspension systems with the Giulia. That's not to say that the Stelvio drives as well or looks as good as the Giulia. The crossover is 2 inches longer and 8.9 inches taller than the sedan from which it was born. We got the feeling that we were sitting on top of the car's chassis instead of within it, which is due entirely to the high seating position that American drivers are so fond of. And whereas the Giulia wears its sheetmetal like a slinky little black dress, the Stelvio's Scudetto front fascia and Trilobo air intakes are stretched over a much larger frame and its sides are sculpted in a more masculine way. Still, the Stelvio is an attractive beast, inside and out. It's unmistakably Italian, which is to say well-tailored with an impeccable form that influences but begrudgingly follows function. Leather seating surfaces are standard. From the driver's seat, the dashboard is dominated by two binnacles housing the tachometer and speedometer. In between is an LCD display that shows a bunch more relevant information. A second screen in an exaggerated widescreen format houses the bespoke infotainment system from Magneti Marelli. That LCD's unique shape makes it look smaller than the Stelvio's competitors, especially as its pinched height makes the backup camera image appear pretty small.

2024 Alfa Romeo Giulia and 2024 Stelvio will be $1,800 less expensive

Sun, May 28 2023

A month after Alfa Romeo revealed the 2024 Giulia and Stelvio for our market, both are less expensive than at launch. All Giulia and Stelvio trims bar the Quadrifoglio have had their MSRPs cut by $1,800. The discount appears to be another move by Stellantis brands here to reposition themselves to achieve the kinds of success that has eluded them so far. Cars Direct picked up on the price cuts in Alfa Romeo order guides. When it asked the automaker what gives, an Alfa Romeo spokesperson replied, "The reduction in pricing is a lifecycle direction for Stelvio and Giulia to enhance market competitiveness." Read: We want to give German Three shoppers more reason to give us a better look. The coming model year of the sedan and SUV isn't on the Alfa Romeo site yet. Cars Direct says the entry-level Giulia Sprint will start at $44,075 after the $1,595 destination fee, the Stelvio Sprint will start at $46,370. The sedan hides a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine up front making 280 horsepower and 306 pound-feet of torque, all of that sent to the rear axle. Zero to 60 miles per hour takes 5.5 seconds, fuel economy comes in at 24 miles per gallon in the city, 33 mpg highway, 27 mpg combined, and Alfa provides a four-year/50,000-mile basic warranty. The BMW 330i is also powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, this one making 255 hp and 295 lb-ft. The stoplight dash takes 5.6 seconds, fuel economy is rated at 25 city, 34 highway, and 29 combined. Thanks to pruning the price, the 2024 Giulia starts off $720 less expensive than the 2023 330i that opens the bidding at $44,795 after the $995 destination fee. The problem is that once you start comparing like-for-like, it's not clear where you'll end up. For instance, the Giulia comes on 17-inch wheels, the BMW on 18-inch wheels. According to the configurator for the 2023 Giulia, upgrading to 18-inch wheels costs $1,725. The Giulia comes with black leather seats, the only alternate interior option a set of red leather seats for an additional $2,000. The BMW comes with Sensatec seats, but buyers have five choices in leather seat colors, four with contrasting stitching, each of which adds $1,500. Point being, if you upgraded the Alfa Romeo to 18-inch wheels and upgraded the BMW to leather, the sedans are only $495 apart.
