Hello to all, up for sale is my 1989 alfa romeo spider graduate pininfarina edition roadster. this model comes with its original 2.0 inline 4 naturally aspired engine. also the car is originally equipped with factory air conditioning and factory alpine speaker system. the air condition system works great and blows hard cold air. the factory radio is also in great working condition.i have a cassette tape convertor for ipod and android use. the engine and transmission are in great shape i mainly use the  car for weekend rides to the beach and the keys. engine never overheats and has no funny noise. the car is mechanically sound and i would drive it anywhere. this is a car that you could buy and drive home with no issues. transmission shifs greats and the car also has anti lock brakes from factory so there is less grinding on the gears. the interior is in fantastic shape. the seats are practically brand new with absolutely no scratches, rips or smudges also original to the car. the carpet is also in great shape as you can see in the pictures. the truck is carpeted as well also in nice shape. the car comes with a spare rim and Michelin tire and all original jack and lug wrench. the body and paint are in almost perfect condition the car is rust free and the paint shines like new. it is not a show car but as close as you can get. will get there with very little effort. i would say this car is in phenomenal shape for its age and i always get looks and get stopped on the road for pics and to say how nice the car is. i hate to have to let it go because i know this car will be a collector car one day and be worth triple its value now. my loss is your gain. before i forget the convertible top is new and is  the cloth top which is way better than the vinyl top and has no rips or tears it is perfect. the car does need some minor cleaning of dust as the car sits in my garage except for the weekends! :-)  and the fuse for the dash light is out other than that all gauges work and the car is fully functional. please feel free to contact me with any questions at 786-683-2053 my name is mike. good luck to all bidders. thank you !

Alfa Romeo bringing 4C Spider to Geneva

Wed, Feb 26 2014

With the Geneva Motor Show fast approaching, we're receiving news left, right and center of various debuts lined up. And the latest bit of intel suggests that Alfa Romeo has prepared an open-top version of the 4C for debut at the Swiss expo. The 4C Spider is tipped to incorporate several changes over the fixed-roof coupe version. For one, it'll have a removable roof panel (Porsche's people might call it a "Targa") along with a pair of carbon-fiber roll hoops affixed behind the bucket seats. That'll give the Alfa 4C a wind-in-your-hair driving experience to go with its high-output 1.75-liter turbo four. We don't know at this point if the car will debut in concept or production form, but word from Italy has it that the 4C Spider will also feature a different headlight design (in place of the controversial fly-eye headlamp units on the coupe) and, of course, a different set of wheels. 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider First Drive [w/video]

Fri, Jun 12 2015

New cars are getting, to quote Alice during her Adventures in Wonderland, "curiouser and curiouser." Take the Alfa Romeo 4C, a car from a mass-market European brand with supercar-like construction at a price that starts under $55,000. The exotic looks on the outside are countered with an almost pre-war era lack of frills on the inside, but the 4C drives like a street-legal go-kart when you put it to work. That price is either a bargain or a ripoff, depending on your priorities. This oddity now has a topless variant in the 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C Spider, which is almost identical to the coupe at first glance. On the stat sheet, two numbers separate this open-top car from its closed-cabin sibling. The first is ground clearance, which goes down in the Spider: 4.4 inches here compared to 4.5 inches in the coupe. The second number is 22. That's how many pounds the Spider gains by losing its roof, for a claimed weight of 2,487 pounds. Alfa Romeo senior product planner Fabio Migliavacca says none of that mass comes from body reinforcement. The 4C's carbon fiber tub was engineered for convertible duty from the go. Alfa Romeo engineered the 4C's carbon fiber tub to handle convertible duty from the beginning, so the roof on the coupe – made of the same sheet-molded compound as the rest of the body – isn't a structural member. The Spider's canvas soft top accounts for an extra 14.3 pounds, making it heavier than the roof on the coupe. And yes, you read that correctly, the Spider comes standard with a canvas top. The optional carbon fiber roof panel costs $3,500. In fact, the options list is so full of woven composite accessories that, during the presentation, one journalist asked if the $1,595 charge for destination and handling could also be had in carbon fiber. The other 7.7 pounds comes from small alterations. The Spider gets larger mufflers – 11-liter cans here, as opposed to eight liters on the coupe - for a richer exhaust note. The car's rear haunches are reshaped to be fuller than those on the hardtop, and the engine cover is now a single solid piece, without the coupe's revealing clear insert. A few changes on the Spider will come to the coupe, including a pair of cellphone pockets, one next to each seat. The awful Parrot stereo goes away, replaced by a more friendly Alpine unit. Some coupe options are standard features on the Spider, like the full leather interior. Two of the six seat styles and four of the six available wheels are exclusive to the Spider.

Alfa Romeo to offer 4C buyers choice of headlights [w/poll]

Wed, Mar 19 2014

Typically an automobile will lose some of its more radical design elements on the road from concept to production, but Alfa Romeo has done things a little differently with the 4C... at least, that is, when it came to its headlights. When the sports car concept first debuted at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, it had an intriguing, glowing headlight design that seemed more stylish than functional. The headlight design stayed the same when Alfa repainted the concept from matte red to liquid silver for the Frankfurt Motor Show later that year, but when the 4C debuted in production form two years after concept's first showing, its headlights weren't any less strange. If anything, they were even more so, taking on a form that only a fly's optometrist could love. Things took a more conventional (and eye-pleasing) turn earlier this month when Alfa revealed the 4C Spider concept with not only a different roofline but also a new set of headlights. Those units are expected to make their way to production when the 4C Spider is finalized, but word has it that the roadster won't be the only one to get them. According to Autocar, the Italian automaker will offer new buyers of the 4C coupe the option to fit the Spider's headlamps instead of the strange-looking units on the hardtop model. The Spider, meanwhile, will only get the more conventional units. We've reached out to Alfa Romeo for confirmation, and have yet to hear back as we go to publish, but either way, the 4C remains – for the time being – a piece of forbidden fruit that we only wish we could get in the States as Alfa continues to plot its eventual return to the North American market.
