1987 Alfa Romeo Spider Quadrifoglio for sale in San Jose, California. It is in great mechanical condition and runs well.

Here are the basic details along with specifics:

- 2.0 Liter, 4 cylinder engine
- Upgraded high-compression pistons (10:1, for just a little more oomph)
- 5-speed manual transmission
- Red paint, no rust, body is in very good condition with some minor "parking lot" dings.
- Gray leather interior with red stitching (Quadrifoglio standard). The seat bottoms have some cracks that should be repaired.
- 15" Quadrifoglio wheels
- Power windows
- Power mirrors
- Heater works well.  I haven't charged the AC in a few years.  It probably needs some R&R.
- Radio with CD player

The car has about 118,000 miles on it.  I have owned it for close to 15 years.  All service records are available.

The soft top is in excellent condition and includes the Quadrifoglio tonneau cover, also in excellent shape.

The hard top is available and can be included; however, the rear glass recently broke and will have to be replaced in order to effectively use the top. That was a sad day. I have been in touch with del-priore.com, who tells me that they carry new replacement glass for the hard top at a reasonable price. Shipping is a bit of a cost challenge, but at least the glass is still out there.

I have the car detailed every year, at which time the paint shines up beautifully, though it oxidizes easily. It's in Ok shape with some scratches and chips.  The flaws are clearly visible in the photos.

I also have a car cover, various spare parts (not too many), one or two nose masks (or "bras" if you prefer).  All of that and anything else I dig up that's related to this car is included.

Though they are not shown in the photos, I have the floor mats and full carpet set (dash carpet, interior sill carpets, rear carpet) which stay installed at all times.  They are in mediocre shape but keep the actual cabin carpet protected and in great shape.  I removed the floor mats and other pieces for the photos to show the condition of the cabin carpet.

Power windows work but are a bit slow, more so in cold weather.  Likewise with the power mirrors.

Alfa Romeo takes over naming of Sauber F1 team

Sun, Feb 3 2019

HINWIL, Switzerland — Italian car brand Alfa Romeo will be the only name on its Formula One team partnership with Switzerland-based Sauber this season. The rebranding means 2007 F1 champion Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi will be driving for Alfa Romeo Racing in 2019. The team was called Alfa Romeo Sauber when it finished eighth in the constructors' standings last year. Sauber says the "long-term partnership ... has been further extended, with the ownership and management of Sauber remaining unchanged and independent." Alfa Romeo drivers won the first two F1 championships — Giuseppe "Nino" Farina in 1950 and Juan Manuel Fangio in 1951 — then left the series after 1985 until returning with Sauber. Related Video:

Alfa Romeo could reportedly bring Sauber F1 tech to its road cars

Tue, Feb 19 2019

In the summer of 2018, Alfa Romeo laid out its five-year plan, only weeks before former Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) CEO Sergio Marchionne passed away. Alfa ambitiously projected several new vehicles of various shapes, sizes and performance levels but gave only vague details. A new report from Piston Heads adds a layer of color to the timeline, suggesting one or more of these upcoming rides could feature influence from Alfa Romeo's Formula 1 partner Sauber. PistonHeads.com recently had the chance to chop it up with Sauber Team Principal Frederic Vasseur at the F1 pre-season sessions in Barcelona, where Alfa Romeo and Sauber were testing out their just-unveiled 2019 car. According to the brief conversation, Alfa and Sauber have collaborations in the works beyond the paddock. "We are already working on another project together and you will see the result quite soon," Vasseur told PH. "It's a huge opportunity for us, but it will involve only the guys at the factory in Switzerland, as the trackside guys are focussed on the racing." Vasseur later tipped that they might have several projects in development. Without any more details, there's a lot of room for speculation, so let's quickly unpack what Alfa has already admitted to be planning. In addition to two new SUVs that will launch in the upcoming years, the performance-minded Italian brand said it would resurrect two well-known and highly desirable nameplates: 8C and GTV. Both cars will reportedly be hybrids, with the 8C serving as a halo mid-engined supercar, while the GTV will essentially be a Giulia coupe, complete with an eventual Quadrifoglio variant. Considering how great and high-powered the current Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglios already are, it seems unlikely these projects would deal with those current models. It's possible Sauber is helping Alfa Romeo with the GTV, as previous reports suggested the two-door will have F1-derived technology, but it is unclear if the coupe is coming "quite soon." It's also possible that Sauber is collaborating with Alfa on all of its upcoming performance electrification and hybrid technology. For now, it's a guessing game, but if the reports are accurate, we won't have to wait much longer to learn more. Alfa Romeo 4C Spider brings roofless Italian performance to the well-heeled masses

Mon, Jan 12 2015

Following through on its Geneva concept and year-end rumors, Alfa Romeo has introduced a roofless version of its mid-engine 4C at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Like the Lotus Elise, the canvas top on the 4C Spider isn't some fancy automatic roof. Instead, owners will need to manually sort things out. Unlike the Elise, at least, the 4C's top is easier to manage when both fixing and removing from the mid-engined sports car's body. For those that prefer the security provided by a hard top, a removable carbon-fiber roof will be added after launch. Aside from that change, most of the tweaks for the 4C Spider have to do with options and equipment. As we explained in our original post, opting for the topless version of this turbocharged Italian will still get you to 60 in just 4.1 seconds, while Alfa claims the 4C Spider can still pull 1.1 lateral g. Check out our full gallery of photos of the new 4C Spider, direct from the floor of the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, at the top of the page.
