1986 ALFA ROMEO SPIDER VELOCE IN EXCELLENT COSMETIC AND MECHANICAL CONDITION WITH LOW MILEAGE AND AIR CONDITIONING!!!

I am the second owner of this vehicle.  I purchased this car from a dealership in New Hampshire who acquired it as a trade-in from the original owner.  The original owner was a long-time client of the dealership and he took excellent care of this fine Italian sports car. The car was always kept covered and in a climate controlled garage, and only used during warm weather season. It was never driven in snow or ice. The original owner kept records of maintenance and all of those records will accompany the car.  This Alfa only had 36,000 miles when I bought it about 1.5 years ago, and now only has 42,025 miles.  I drove it home from New Hampshire to Alabama when I bought it and had absolutely no problems.  The a/c works great and kept me cool the entire trip which was in August.  Since I got the car, I have kept it in a covered carport with a car cover on it and a tarp over the cover.  The car cover came with the car and will also go with the new owner.  It also has a separate cover that protects the top and goes underneath the car cover (see pictures.)  This car has the original leather seats (with new foam inserts), original paint, original carpet, and original floor mats, all in excellent condition.  The new convertible top was professionally installed and looks and functions great. All electronics and electrical systems work as they should, including the power side mirrors, power windows and interior and exterior lights.  The body is rust free.  The car has a tonneau cover which is in perfect condition.  There is a small scratch in the front bumper and a tiny, superficial chip in the windshield which is not noticeable when driving (see pictures.) It has a clear Alabama title, and I am the current owner with no liens.

The following repairs were made to the car within 1.5 years prior to my purchase of it:

-Head gasket replaced and valve job with timing adjustment
-Air conditioner coolant system replaced with 134-A coolant
-Bumpers refinished
-All four coil springs replaced with raicing-type springs (from International Auto Parts)
-Frame stiffener installed (from International Auto Parts)
-AC and alternator belts replaced
-Radiator hose kit replaced
-Rear straight exhaust pipe installed
-Windshield washer bottle and motor replaced
-Complete brake job
-Replaced worn tie rod end
-Repaired drivers side electric mirror
-Complete lube and oil service
-Replaced front and rear shocks
-Replaced both lower ball joints
-Replaced upper control arm
-Tire alignment
-Replaced engine mounts
-Installed nickel-plated exhaust header (from International Auto Parts)
-Replaced brake hoses to all 4 wheels
-Replaced pinion shaft oil seal
-Replaced transmission mount
-NEW CONVERTIBLE TOP INSTALLED
-Replaced foam in seat bottoms
-Serviced and adjusted electric windows
-New tires - Michelin Harmony (still like new)

The only service it has needed since I got it was a wheel balancing.  The car is due for an oil and filter change, but I will leave that for the new owner. I replaced all the air/vacuum hoses in the fuel injection control and evaporative emission control systems with silicone hoses using a kit supplied by Greg Gordon at Hi Performance Store (you can find information about why this is important on these 20+ year old cars by doing a google search for his website.) The car does not leak any oil.

I did have a new stereo professionally installed with new speakers that fit in the existing speaker grills.  The Kenwood stereo has HD radio, CD player, USB connection, and a remote.  The speakers are Memphis Audio.

I have truly enjoyed this car. It is fun to drive, handles great, runs perfectly, and turns heads everywhere I go. I am selling it because I just do not use it often and so I would rather have the money to put towards investing for my retirement.  Whoever gets this car is going to be very happy with it.  The only things I would have replaced if I was going to keep the car are the door seals, but purely for cosmetic reason, they work just fine the way they are.

Good luck and happy bidding.

Alfa Romeo 4C production to continue until at least late 2020

Thu, Nov 14 2019

Maserati will end production of the GranTurismo and the GranCabrio in November 2019, and it will retool the historic Modena, Italy, factory that makes both models in preparation for a new sports car due out in 2020. But Autoblog learned production of the Alfa Romeo 4C made in the same facility will continue even after the retooling, debunking rumors of the model's immediate demise. "Production of the 4C will continue in the same production plant/line until late 2020 for the NAFTA and APAC regions," an Alfa Romeo spokesperson told us via email. The factory will close during the retooling, so "there will just be some weeks of technical interruption" during the process, according to the same spokesperson. Production will resume as soon as the overhaul is completed, and Alfa's carbon fiber-intensive two-seater will be built alongside Maserati's next sports car. North American enthusiasts still have time to put a new 4C in their garage. Available only as a convertible, the 4C recently entered the 2020 model year with a limited-edition model named Italia that gains an array of visual add-ons, like piano black trim on the front end. Just 15 Italias will be built, but the standard 4C remains available as a regular-production model. It's powered by a mid-mounted, 1.75-liter four-cylinder engine turbocharged to 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The engine's displacement wasn't chosen at random; Alfisti will know right off the bat that it echoes the 1750 engine Alfa offered in the late 1960s and the early 1970s. European enthusiasts aren't as lucky. Autoblog also confirmed an earlier report claiming 4C production for the European, Middle Eastern, and African markets ended in August 2018. While the GranTurismo will be replaced by a new model in 2021, what the future holds for the 4C is up in the air. Alfa Romeo's product plan doesn't currently include a second-generation 4C, which is too bad. It's one of the purest, most undiluted sports car on the market; may it live long. Listen to the 2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio's howling Ferrari V6

Fri, Oct 18 2019

There's a lot that makes the 2019 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio special, from its name to its handling. But arguably its biggest claim to fame is the twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 under the hood that was derived from a Ferrari engine. It makes 505 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque, and all that grunt goes through an eight-speed automatic transmission on its way to the rear wheels. Being a Ferrari-related engine, it has a suitably impressive exhaust note. Pop it into "Dynamic" mode, and the exhaust opens up. It's plenty loud with higher revs, but quiets down on the highway, avoiding much drone. The note is unique, with a deeper tone than you might expect from the Prancing Horse brand. It also has rippling crackles that occur more naturally than some of its consistently popping competitors from Germany. Take a listen for yourself with the video above.

Alfa Romeo Stelvio refresh spied sporting the smallest of changes

Fri, Aug 2 2019

Alfa Romeo has a refresh coming down the pipeline for the Stelvio crossover soon, and our spy photographer just caught it testing out in the wild. The white Stelvio in partial camouflage seen here isn’t hiding a whole lot, though. From what we can tell, nothing much has changed on the outside compared to the car we can buy now. Swirly wrappings cover both the front bumper and lower rear fascia. Despite us not being able to discern any differences between this one and the 2019 Stelvio, the camouflage could be hiding some minor tweaks. Or perhaps the changes arenÂ’t present in this test car, and itÂ’s being used as a powertrain mule of sorts. There are rumors that Alfa will add some form of electrification to the Stelvio in this lifecycle. Whether thatÂ’s a 48-volt mild-hybrid system or something as involved as a plug-in hybrid, we canÂ’t know for sure yet. The interior does reveal a couple of the smallest changes. Alfa isnÂ’t giving it a whole new look, but a couple things get moved around or reshaped. The electronic parking brake has moved up to an easier-to-reach position next to the shifter. ThereÂ’s some sort of module to the right of the shifter that looks like itÂ’s missing something — that module is not present in the current car. Then, Alfa reshaped the center armrest. Hopefully that means thereÂ’s a little bit more utility in store for the center console and armrest area. Like we said, thereÂ’s nothing revolutionary here. As the Stelvio was introduced as a 2018 model year crossover here, we donÂ’t expect the refresh to be hitting us until the 2021 model year at the earliest. If Alfa feels like moving things along, there could be a reveal for the mid-cycle refresh next year sometime.
